1. Skudder’s Honeypaws Sweet Talking Guy. This 12 mth old boy shows lots of promise but this was a first show for both exhibit and handler and a little more ringcraft will be a huge benefit to both. Having said that as time went on both settled and did really very well. I thought him a good type, correct for size and he presented a well-balanced outline. Medium length of neck, nice short back, good ribbing, muscular loin and tail set and carried well. Masculine head with good proportions, good eye for set and colour, ears of correct set, strong muzzle and excellent dentition. Good texture to coat and well presented. Needs to settle on the move but did enough here to take Best Dog.

1. McCracken’s Our Black Jack. Mature 5 yr old boy. Pleasing head and expression with good skull, correct proportions, dark expressive eyes, slight stop and correct scissor bite. Muscular neck of moderate length, somewhat longer cast and topline could be firmer to advantage, good forechest and ground clearance, well-muscled loin and tail set and carried well. Out at elbow and this reflects when coming towards but moving out well behind. Coat of good texture and well presented. Very well handled. Reserve Best Dog.

1. Dixon’s Sweetgarret Starlight over Chatterdale. I thought this 10 mth old pup extremely promising. Feminine throughout she appealed for type, presented a super outline and was so good to go over given her correct construction. Neck of moderate length, nice short back, firm topline, ribcage extending well back and developing well for age, short muscular loin and tail set and carried well. Head of correct proportions with fair width to skull, slight stop, super eye and ear and correct dentition. Good angles front and rear, nice width to buttocks and short, strong hocks. Moving so well on the go around, driving well from the rear and nice and free both fore and aft. Very well handled. Reserve Best Bitch and Best Puppy.

1. Caley’s Honeypaws Amazing Gracie. 12 mth old and another with lots to like although she would also benefit from some more ring experience. She pleased for overall type, carries good bone and substance and is nicely constructed. Head of correct proportions with moderate breadth to skull, good stop, dark eye of correct shape, ears set on well and correct scissor bite. Muscular neck of moderate length, short back but topline needs to firm up, good depth to chest, well ribbed back, muscular loin and tail very good for both set and carriage. Good breadth throughout and moving straight on the down and back and driving well from the rear. Harsh, wiry jacket.

1. Lawrence’s Sweetgarret Queen of the Sea. 20 mth girl who has so much to like. I thought her a really good type and she pleased to go over. Feminine headpiece with fair width to skull, good proportions, dark expressive eyes, ears of correct size and set, strong muzzle and correct scissor bite. Muscular neck of sufficient length to balance, nice short back, level topline, well rounded ribcage which is carried well back, nice short loin, tail set on well and good breadth to rear. Good angles both ends and standing so well naturally. Moving so well on the go around and using herself as she goes. Quality coat.

1. Webster’s Glengracie Miss Mercury of Pepilarue. 4 yr old wheaten. This girl is a tad longer cast and therefore didn’t quite give the outline I was looking for. Muscular neck of moderate length, topline could be firmer to advantage, nice length to ribcage, good depth to brisket, muscular loin and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Head of correct proportions with fairly wide skull, good stop, eye of correct colour, ears good for set but a tad larger, powerful muzzle and good dentition. Just enough width in front, firm well-muscled hindquarters with well let down hocks. Moves out so well in profile, making the most of herself at all times but could be better coming at you. Good coat texture.

1. Greenwood’s Carisco Return Amber to Petmon. This 3 yr old won this class with ease although was rather unsettled on the day. She presented a well-balanced outline with muscular neck of medium length, nice short back, firm topline, excellent ribbing, well-muscled loin and tail set on well with upright carriage. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression, correct stop, very nice eye and ear, strong well filled-in muzzle and correct dentition. She has nice width throughout and good angles both front and rear. Moving well coming and going and driving well from the rear when viewed in profile. Coat could use more texture.

1. Pinto & Whitehead’s Berrybreeze Quintella at Mckalay. Feminine 2 yr old shown to advantage. This girl was good to go over and presented a nicely balanced outline with moderate length of neck, short level back, nice deep brisket, excellent ribbing, short muscular loin and tail good for both set and carriage. Attractive, well proportioned head, fair width to skull, slight stop, very nice eye and ear and correct scissor bite. Good angles both ends, nice width to chest and good clearance, firm muscular hindquarters with short, strong hocks. Moving so well on the go around with confident carriage. Coat of excellent texture. Best Bitch & BOB.

1. Lawrence’s Sweetgarret Highland Lass. This 7 yr old girl carries lovely bone and substance and pleased to go over. Muscular neck of correct length to balance, short level back, excellent ribbing, chest of good depth, short well-muscled loin and tail correct for set and carriage. Feminine, well-proportioned head, slight stop, decent eye and strong muzzle. Good width in front, nice straight forelegs, broad buttocks with well bent stifles and nice short hocks. Moving well enough all through but could have put a little more effort into the proceedings. Fair coat texture.
