SCOTTISH MANCHESTER 2010 Judge: Mr David Guy SCOTTISH JUDGE MANCHESTER 10 Scottish Terriers PD (2,1a) 1 Thomas’ Geomeg Edison, 9 months black who was very immature, balanced head with dark eye. Could do with more width in front. Level topline & good tailset, adequate bone for size, good profile movement. A little close coming towards. JD (0). PGD (4,1) 1 Eteo’s Glenmiar Whisky Mac at Jancliff, this boy carried a super body, good bone & substance, in good coat, clean over the neck & shoulder, long head with well placed ears. A touch stronger in skull than I prefer. Good topline & tailset, moved true; 2 Cole’s Rabbonai Playmaker, larger type than 1, expressive head again thicker in skull than I prefer, not the front of 1. Good tailset, carried a good body, adequate bone, held his topline on the move; 3 Hardy’s Mr N J Magandthan Waiting. LD (7,1) 1 Goddard & Emandem’s Black Pudding, dark brindle dog with a look of quality, balanced head with keen expression, ample bone for size, good feet, true front, well laid shoulders with good run-in. He could do with a touch more body across the loin. Presented in super coat & gave a good outline. Can move soundly when settled but spoils himself at times with over exuberance. Nevertheless settled enough for me to see his soundness, retaining his topline on the move; 2 Farrand’s Amberyl Beinn Mor, another quality dog with a long head, well set ears, good neck & shoulder but not the width in front of 1 which cost him the class. Carried a super body & was deep, OK for bone, harsh textured coat but was trimmed too tightly for me, not displaying the desired double coat. Well set & carried tail, close coming towards but gave a good picture in profile; 3 Lawrence’s Sweetgarret My Wee Geordie. OD (4) 1 Kenny’s Ch Millingford Northern Rock, I have judged this black before & gave him RCC as a puppy, masculine head with an alert expression & well placed ears, good neck & shoulder, front Ok, bone adequate for size, level topline, good tailset, good coat which was well presented, has matured in body as I expected & this was to his advantage, moved well coming & going & gave a good outline in profile, his assertive attitude & showmanship won him BOB, gave a good account of himself in the group. CC & BOB; 2 Boyce’s Ch Trakside By The Loch, another quality boy who ran 1 close, short well ribbed body, good topline, tailset, big quarters, good bone, expressive head with well set ears, super brindle coat of good texture that was well presented, he is sound on the move coming & going & he too presents a good outline in profile, overall a quality animal. RCC; 3 Earl’s Turnaware Buccaneer. PB (6) 1 Baker’s Glenheath Grazia, 10 months puppy, good front with a well developed breast bone, good bone & super substance for her age, well ribbed body & alert keen expression with well set ears, when settled she displayed true movement. BP; 2 Kenny’s Millingford Royal Affair, a larger bitch puppy who was more finished than 1 but I preferred the more compact body of 1. Good over the neck & shoulder, good topline & tailset, adequate bone for size, coat of good texture, made the most of herself on the move displaying a good outline; 3 Hardy’s Trakside Springtime of Magandthan. JB (3,1) 1 Boyce’s Trakside Tiffin, a quality brindle presented to advantage, quality head but would prefer more parallel planes. Good neck onto well placed shoulders, good bone & body, super well presented coat, good tailset, moved true coming & going, retaining her topline at all times; 2 Shadbolt’s Akura Pollyanna, this wheaten was not too happy. She is balanced, if a shade larger than 1. Coat of good texture, good body & rib, front OK. Didn’t put all in on the move & didn’t use her tail as I know she can. PGB (1) 1 Thomas’ Trusty Tira to Indizak, black bitch with a well textured coat, attractive head with alert expression. Could be better in front as she is a little narrow. OK for body, topline runs up a little towards her tail, well set & used tail, moved OK going away but a little close coming towards. Overall she needs more substance. LB (3) 1 Pagram’s Torcraig Fair Enough, a wheaten I have judged before & was my RCC winner, today again she won the RCC, unlucky to meet the winner of OB who put more in on the move. Balanced head & expression, true front, good bone, super body & spring of rib, good hindquarters & tailset, in good coat which was well presented, standing she presents a super picture, sound coming & going & when she decides to put in the required effort she is good in profile, she put in sufficient effort to win this class but could not get past the winner of OB in the challenge. RCC; 2 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Supertramp, this quality black was also of high quality, balanced head with a keen alert expression, on to good neck & shoulder, adequate width in front, good body but not as compact as the winner, ample bone, in super tight coat, well set tail, moved OK, presented a good outline in profile; 3 Shaw’s Terratom Latte. OB (4,1) 1 Gaskell & Mayson’s Carousel, a quality black bitch who handles well, long balanced head, deep set eye, good over the neck & shoulder, ample bone for size, good body & rib, well set tail, coat of correct texture, good hindquarters, she came into her own on the move true coming & going, her profile movement is super retaining her outline & presenting a good picture. Beaten for BOB by the dog who was more assertive. CC; 2 Beckton’s Kentwella Karamel by Glengracie, wheaten bitch who also handles well, balanced head, OK over the neck & shoulder, front OK, good bone, body & rib, well set & used tail, coat of good texture, not as positive coming & going as 1. She too held her topline on the move; 3 Coley’s Jusouth Just Florence at Kingsview. |
