The Midland Sealyham Terrier Club – Open Show 23rd June 2019

Judge Mark Walshaw - JANMARK

A warm welcome awaited from the committee at Baginton Village Hall, on a bright sunny day. It is Such a honour to be asked to judge any club show and it is very much appreciated. I thank the exhibitors for their entries and time preparing the dogs. A wonderful day for all , with plenty going on and a plentiful supply of excellent food. My able assistant kept the ring in order and arranged the distribution of the wonderful rosettes. It was nice to be able to handle some quality dogs. Thank you once again.
My principle winners were:

BD & BIS - Bettis, CH Ornella Country Living Shcm
BB, RBIS & BVIS - Wonnacott, Ch Jacott Joy Bells.
BPIS – Wonnacott, Jacott Sunshine.

MPD/B (2)

1 Bell’s, Zippor Sleepy Sapphireson. Loved this 6 mth baby, very balanced throughout and cutting a fine picture on the stack. Lovely head, with dark eye, well laid ears and good bite. Neck rising well from a clean front. Medium length of body with well sprung ribs for age and depth. Already has good substance and bone. Tail on top and sporting a decent jacket. Moved with drive when he got going. Bright future ahead for this young man. Didn’t have the movement at this stage to clinch BP over the bitch, but his time will come. BPD.

2 Prestons, Whooperhill Field of Dreams. 6 mth bitch. Pleasing head & clean bite. Ok in neck, well ribbed, good powerful rear with plenty behind the tail. Ample rear angulation.

1 Lees, Overbore Semis in Russia. A pleasing head, clean neck and medium length of body on this young man. Decent lay of shoulder, good ribbing and well angled rear. Looked good in profile, keeping topline on the move, with tail carried erect. Sporting a good jacket.

2 Stack, Ornella Love Story. Not the jacket of 1 today and made him look longer cast through body. Ok in head, strong bite and good neck. Moved really well, covering the ground with purpose and drive from a strong rear. Kept topline but curled tail spoilt overall impression.
