SEALYHAM NATIONAL TERRIER 24 Judge: Mrs J Miller SEALYHAM JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 24 Lovely invitation to judge at the Terriers Crufts of the year held at the Staffordshire Showground with very nice sized rings. I was pleased with my two breed quality entries and thank the ehibitors for their support. I thank my stewards Colin Woodward and Graham for their help and good work. PD (3,1) 1 Bettis’ Ornella King Midas A 9 month impressive youngster very confident in himself and a little showman lovely outline of correct proportions. Loved his powerful long masculine head, nicely marked skull and head, dark expressive eyes good pigment, a strong furnished jaw with correct dentition. Thickish long neck into laid back shoulders and firm level backline to well set erect tail. Nicely angulated front and rear both with strength and tone. Lovely body shape with white nicely presented textured coat. Well boned short legs and thick well padded feet. Strong hindquarters, a very sound brisk mover with true action BPD 2 Roberts’ Ladeler Bran Beli, the same age as the winner but not having the same balance and substance plus giving his handler a hard time. Good head shape nice oval skull well set ears, dark eyes one covered by a patch, strong jaw with enough furnishing. A long strong neck being slightly too long in his back which dipped slightly on the stance and move. His body being well ribbed with a longer loin, good depth of chest and strong rear quarters. Well coated with harsh textured well presented top coat. Short well boned legs and tight well padded feet moved out with quick brisk action. JD (1) 1 Hemstocks’ Jolihem Mad Eye Moody Of a nice size with good overall balance, having a nice body well ribbed back with a short loin. At 15 months has a strong long nicely marked head with good skull to well set ears. Well pigmented dark eyes. Head held on a good length of neck into well laid back shoulders into a level topline and well set and used happy tail, well bodied and ribbed back with good substance. Quality coat texture but his presentation could be better. Good depth and angles front and rear with short nicely boned legs and well padded tight round feet. Sound happy mover. PG (4) 1 Hemstocks’ Sirius Black 15 month old litter brother to the Junior winner and similar remarks except this boy is slightly smaller framed and smaller than I like but today he had the overall qualities. Good strength to his well developed head, nice doomed and wide set apart ears, badger markings, dark expressive eyes of nice shape and well pigmented rims, nicely veiled to a strong foreface and jaw furnished, black nose. Good length of neck and well set and angled shoulders, topline level to well set on and carried erect tail. Enough body and substance for his age, with good angulation to his front and rear, depth of chest and elbows well in on short nicely boned legs and tight compact feet. Very good coat texture but presentation to his coat could be slightly tidier. Strong quarters and hocks moved out very unsettled but once into a stride had a brisk sound action. 2 Crangs’ Lushell Gwyn Cariad just 3 years old and very well developed with a strong build and nice size and overall shape. Masculine head of correct shape and strength with nice furnishing to his strong muzzle. Dark expressive eyes, well set and held ears. Strong long neck into well laid shoulders and firm level back with well set on tail. Good angles front and rear (which were powerful) of a well developed and ribbed back body with a well presented and textured coat. Short strong well boned legs and round feet, unsettled on the move but was sound in action once he settled but he is not handled well his owner handler who needs to put in some work to get this dog shown to his advantage, 3 Allisons’ Nunneley Hide And Seek At Slifehurst LD (2,1) 1 Curtis’ Joilham Lene Joe Badger Nearly 4 years old this smaller built well balanced dog with a very attractive outline. Very smart well shaped and worked badger marked head, nicely held ears, dark expressive pigmented eyes well veiled and furnished strong jaw. Enough length with good strength to his neck, would like more depth to chest and front angulation, developed shoulders, good backline which was inclined to dip on the move but he stood with a firm hold. Body with good ribs and covered in a clear white texture and conditioned coat very well presented. Strong quarters, well boned short legs with round tight padded feet. Moved out soundly with brisk action with nice erect tail carriage. RDCC OD (2) 1 Bells’ Ch. Zipper Sleepy Sapphireson At Letara impressively developed and built of a correct size this well bodied male. Super masculine long head with a well moulded skull, with brown markings, well set and held ears, dark well pigmented rims to his dark expressive eyes, nicely veiled, strong muzzle and jaw well furnished, black nose. Has a proud head carriage on a long thick neck into well laid back shoulders into his level back to well set and carried tail. Nicely angulated shoulder and upper arm with good depth to his chest, elbows well in on short boned forelegs. Lovely depth and substance to his well ribbed back body covered in a super coat of lovely texture, condition and presentation. Strongly toned hindquarters, well bent stifle and strong hocks, well presented tight feet. A very sound brisk active mover. DCC RBOB nice to see him placed 3rd in Champion stakes. 2 James’ Nileda Mister Joe nearly 5 year old of a nice size and compact build this attractive looking white coated male with super condition and texture to his well presented coat. Nice head shape and length but lacking the strength of foreface of my winner. Correct set on ears, dark alert expressive eyes with enough pigmentation to his rims. Good neck length to well laid back shoulders and a firm level back of good length, well set strong tail with a curl. Well bodied and ribbed back with good angulation front and rear. Good boned short forelegs well boned and strong hindquarters, stylish mover with good sound brisk action. MPB (1) 1 Bells’ Whooperhilll Serendipity For Letara, very attractive and substantial little lady of good size and balance for her young age. Very smart attractively marked brown skull of good width between her ears. Lovely round dark eyes with a nice alert look, strong jaw and black nose. Good neck length to well laid shoulders, a firm level back line with good tail set just having a slight curl over. Well angulated forequarters with good depth of chest, elbows well in on straight small well boned legs with tight round padded feet. Super body with good substance and well ribbed back with a short loin. For her age she is so well coated and presented with a lovely texture, also having strength in her hindquarters and hocks, once settle into a stride had a nice action which was sound. 1 Mersons’ Magembay Monnet Headed a nice class of babies, my winner was so well handled by this breeder exhibitor. I was delighted to find my first two were litter sisters although they are different. Stood out for her overall balance and lovely substance and her presentation. Very pretty feminine head so well worked with good width between her ears well set on, lovely round alert eyes nicely covered correct rims. Enough strength to her well developed foreface nice strong jaw and black nose. Proud head carriage on a strong long neck into well laid back shoulders into a firm level topline to well set on erect tail. Lovely depth to her body but would like a little more substance, well sprung ribs, nicely angulated front, good depth to her chest, with elbows held well in on well boned short forelegs, Very well presented, groomed and conditioned white body coat with good furnishings. Strong quarters with nice return of stifle and let down hocks, giving her a powerful brisk ground covering action BPB BPiB 2 Courtenay-Warrens’ Magembay Muchova Of Nunneley slightly smaller build than my winner and not the overall balance being my compact. Very sweet balanced long head, nicely domed skull with brown patched marking, well set on and carried ears, nice sized round eyes with some veiling over and good long foreface. Proud head carriage on a good strong long neck into well laid back shoulders and a firm level backline, tail little low set. A well ribbed back body having enough substance being nicely angulated front and rear with short well boned legs and tight padded feet. Presentation and coat texture was good with the exception of her backline which could have been better. She moved out soundly with a nice brisk action 3 Flowers’ Dionaha Winni JB (2,1) 1 Barney & Lewis’ Nomis No Looking Back very impressive on the stack and just as nice to go over, nearly 18 months and maturing very nicely. Has some lovely quality points and certainly one with an exciting future. Very well constructed head with length and femininity, domed slightly in skull with good width and well set and carried ears, nice vieling over her dark round eyes, nice foreface and dentition wnad good furnishings. Carries her head well on long strong neck into well laid back shoulders, lovely chest width and depth and elbows wel in onshort strong well boed legs and padded feet. Substance and depth, with sprung ribs to her balanced body. Super presentation to her hard wiry body coat in lovely clean condtion. Strong thighs and let hocks, well padded round feet. Stylish brisk mover with a powerful side stride and rear action. PGB (1) 1 hemstocks’ jolihem loony luna, nice overall size and balance to this 15 month old who stood alone. Feminine clean white head, with slightly domed skull and nice width to her well set and carried ears. Expressive dark round eyes, slight veiling over clean long foreface with strength to her jaw well furnished. Strong neck with good length, well set back shoulders, nice front angles and depth and width to her chest and brisket with good substance to her body with well sprung ribs. Strong hindquarters and well turned stifle with short hocks. Lovely coat texture but her trimming and presentation could be slightly better. Quite the show girl full of herself, moves out well on short boned legs and tight feet, moving briskly with sound front action just a little close behind. LB (2) 1 Curtis’ Kenalteen Cascade 2 very smart bitches I preferred on the stack the overall balance and front angulation of my winner although the handler is inclined to over stretch her forelegs, she looks so correct with her forelegs under her brisket. Very attractive clear white head nice slight dome to her skull with a good width to her well set and carried ears. A very alert look to her dark round eyes, clean checks strong forface and jaw well furnished. Holds her head well on a long strong neck set well into laid back shoulders, with a firm level and balanced topline with a correct well set and carried tail, strong rump, thighs hocks and tight feet. Presented in good condition with nice body substance, good depth and well sprung ribs carried well back with a strong short loin. Short well boned legs an tigh feet a free briske and strong very sound mover. 2 Courtenay-Warrens’ Bullbrit Shady Lady Of Nunneley in super condition and presentation this 6.5 year old of lovely breed type and size for me on going over found her a little long in her loin. Very nice head shape, well set ears and dark alert round eyes, strong jaw nicely furnished. Holds head proudly on strong neck of good length into laid back shoulders wel angled to her front with depth and width to her chest. Firm level back tail set a little low but carried erect. Her body so well coated and presented, having substance and well sprung ribs just needing to be further back, strong thighs let down hocks, stylish sound mover with good powerful drive and sound front action. OB (4,1) Lovely class 1 Waddells’ Dk Ch Pl Swed Ir Ch Seabrook Spitting Image Of Forlegd (Imp USA) this was a super quality class with correct type and compact balanced animals. My winner stood out for her overall style and balance she looked very impressive on the stack with her beautiful white well presented coat and on going over found her to have all the qualities I was looking for in the standard. Her head was just stunning and so well worked, alert dark eyes and that required powerful square jaw all well coated. Lovely size and good oblong outline, super substance and great angles front and rear, lovely sprung ribs and a strong short loin. Short well bone legs and well muscled quarters, and thighs and short strong hocks, feet so catlike with strong pads, a stylish mover with sound brisk driving action. BCC and BOB 2 Bettis’ Ch Nunneley Hopscotch Over Ornella JW another quality stunning bitch with a superb outline of correct balance, presented so well in a conditioned white hard wiry jacket. On the stack this girl was very impressive and her movement complimented her as she was so sound with a lovely brisk powerful sound action. Very feminine head with a long powerful jaw, well furnished. She has a lovely slight domed skull, having the width to her well set and carried ears of which one is nicely marked. Beautiful angulation to her front and rear quarters of a body of substance and depth with really well sprung ribs back into a short strong loin. RBCC 3 Mcneillis’ Ch Magembay Monnet Jenny Miller |
