SEALYHAM SKC MAY 14 Judge(s): MR D WINSLEY Sealyham Terriers The entry was small as usual for this show, but there was some quality present. JD (0). OD (2) 1 Bledge & Hawk’s Ch/Am Ch Blomendal Born In The USA at Thunder Road, robust black marked dog, good length of head & well filled muzzle & just rather broad in skull. Well placed ears & a nice dark eye. Good length of neck, I would prefer less bulk in his shoulders & this did affect his front action. He has a correct length of body, good spring of rib, nice turn of stifle & well muscled. tailset correct, harsh textured coat & moved well behind. Showed well. CC; 2 Daly’s Ir/Int Ch Cibach Celtic Connection, slightly smaller type of male, nice length of head & dark eye, would prefer less width to his skull. Earset correct but reluctant to use them to his advantage. Good in neck & shoulders which showed in his front movement, nice spring of rib & correct length of body. Failed in topline today. Strongly made hindquarters, would have preferred a little more width. He was lovely & clean, harsh top coat down his back but soft at the sides, needed sorting out a few weeks earlier. RCC. JB (1) 1 Hetherington & Good’s Am Ch Goodspice Efbe’s Know Easy Way Out, tan marked girl, almost out of junior. Very mature all through, nice length to her head, could have a little more refinement in skull. Well placed ears which she used well, dark eye & well filled muzzle. Correct neck & shoulders, nice width to her straight front. Medium length of body which was well let down, good spring of ribs & level topline. Muscular hindquarters with a good turn of stifle, good bone & well made feet. Tailset correct with plenty behind the tail, in a good quality coat of the correct length. A nicely balanced girl who deserved her 2nd CC & BOB, pleased to see her short listed in a strong group. OB (3,1) 1 Daly’s Ir Ch Tough Cookie, black marked girl who seemed a changed girl today, I have not seen her looking so good before. Probably had the best head in todays entry, good length, nice width of skull, dark eye & well balanced. Her neck could be a shade longer for better overall balance, just found her a little narrow in front. Correct length of body, good spring of ribs & level topline. Well made hindquarters which she uses very well. Correct tailset & carriage, clean well trimmed coat, a shade soft in places. Showed well & deserved her RCC; 2 Tobijanski’s Zippor Break A Leg, not the balance of 1 being a little longer cast. Head has a nice length; her skull could be a little more refined, nice eye & well filled muzzle. Tends to lack width of front which the Standard calls for, I would prefer more spring of rib, topline level. Well developed hindquarters, tailset good. Coat a little on the thin side but this is a temporary thing. Showed well. DAVID WINSLEY |
