SEALYHAM WELSH KENNEL CLUB 09 Judge: Mr D Ericsson SEALYHAM JUDGE WELSH KC 09 Sealyham Terriers A great pleasure judging this breed for the first time in the UK. Size varied considerably, tailsets could in many cases be better, as could coats. PD (1) 1 Hampson’s Kamryan Hey Look Me Over, well constructed baby puppy, good head & eye, excellent front & shoulders, body & very good rear, hard coat coming through. Was not happy in his class, but sprung to life in the challenge & even more so when competing for BP, very promising. BP. JD (0). PGD (0). LD (4) 1 Bettis’ Plumhollow Seek Him Here Ornella, strongly made masculine dog, very good body properties, level topline, good tailset & rear, masculine rather strong head. He could have a little more quality in neck & shoulders. Well presented, excellent overall picture of the breed when moving. RCC; 2 Hampson’s Kamryan Hey Look At Me, typical dog, good outline, but still immature & needs to thicken & drop in body. Showed well; 3 Thomas’ Chalan Cheeky Chap at Cibach. OD (6,1a) Difficult class to judge with great variation. 1 Horn’s Ch Eleighwater Prince Charles, very sound, free moving dog, lovely size, correct outline, good front, neck & shoulders, level topline, perfect tailset, very good rear, moved effortlessly & with great enthusiasm. Would have liked a harder coat. CC & BOB; 2 Winsley’s Davmar Duty Free, bigger dog, very good hard coat & condition, masculine head, good body properties. Stands a little taller than 1 & tail could be set higher; 3 Evans’ Ch Nileda Executive Date at Sunnyview. PB (3) 1 Hampson’s Kamryan Audacity Of Hope, lovely baby puppy, beautiful type, good head, neck & shoulders, body & coat. Tailset rather low, detracting somewhat from outline. Happy temperament; 2 Thomas’ Cibach Crescendo, a little short & somewhat too square in outline. Very good legs & feet, excellent neck & shoulders, coat rather soft, moves OK; 3 Hampson’s Kamryan Take A Chance On Me. JB (1) 1 Hampson’s Kamryan Dream Girl, all white bitch, great potential, I liked her a lot, perfect overall proportions, very good head & expression. A little narrow in front. Good body, coat & rear. Strong contender for BP, but the dog had the extra edge on showmanship. A very promising puppy, in good order. PGB (4) 1 Lewis’ Nomis New Day, beautifully presented, very feminine bitch, lovely coat & condition, feminine head, good neck, topline & body. Still needs to drop & thicken a little in body. Very easy, fluid mover, which ultimately won her CC; 2 Wonnacott’s Jacott Moonlight Serenade, excellent type, very good body properties. Fails a little in head & ears. Moves well, not the coat & condition of 1; 3 Samuel’s Davmar On Parade. LB (6) Interesting class, but once again with great individual variation. 1 Moyes’ Plumhollow Duty Bound, very good bitch, hard coat, good condition, typical head, body & rear. Moved well, but front let her down; 2 Jones’ Jacott String Of Pearls, feminine of good size, very low to ground, excellent overall make & shape, coat rather soft, well handled; 3 Jones’ Tommarv Ruby Sunday. OB (4) 1 Longmate’s Polrose Penny Black for Pendalin, strongly made bitch that I liked a lot, was not disappointed when handling her, very good body & outline, excellent quarters & rear. Perhaps a little masculine in head. Thought she would be my winner but she decided to walk sideways in the challenge & rather spoilt her chances – pity. RCC; 2 Horn’s Ch Zippor Forever Myfyanwy, feminine bitch of the size I like, good outline, neck & shoulders, excellent rear & tailset, as have all exhibits from this exhibitor. Rather narrow in front & not the coat of 1. Moved OK; 3 Lewis’ Ch Nomis New Beginning. Breeder Hampson. DAN ERICSSON (Sweden) |
