1. Evans’ Ch Nileda Great Expectations ShCM. 7 yr old bitch who got the day off to a great start. Quality girl of excellent type and balance and was lovely to go over. Clean, muscular neck of good length to balance, level topline, good depth to brisket, well ribbed back, firm loin and tail of good set and carriage. Feminine headpiece with slight dome to skull, dark expressive eyes, powerful jaw, scissor bite and good pigmentation. Good angles front and rear, elbows close to the body and standing on good feet. Moving out freely with good carriage and was well handled. Coat of good texture and well presented. Best Veteran and RCC.
2. Trezise-Dundas’ Cibach Carys at Firstwish. 10 yr old bitch. Feminine throughout but up against stiff opposition here. Balanced in outline with good length of neck, pretty good topline, deep chest, good length to ribcage, firm loin and tail set on ok. Pleasing head with good skull, nice dark eye, ears of correct set and good dentition. She is narrower in front than I would prefer although moves true on the down and back but she could not compete with the profile action and carriage of winner.

1. Forkes-Rees’ Pakynhyl Treak Cliff. 2 yr old who is somewhat longer cast than the ideal and therefore not presenting the outline I was looking for. Having said that he carries good bone, is a pleasing type and was very well handled. Masculine head with good skull, plenty of width between his well set ears, medium-sized eyes of good colour, powerful jaw, good pigmentation and correct dentition. Neck of good length, topline could be firmer, deep brisket, fair rib and tail set on well. He stands on good feet and is well muscled throughout. Moving freely and uses himself as he goes.

1. Bell’s Ch Zippor Sleepy Sapphireson at Letara. Quality class which was a delight to judge and my winner was this 3 yr old who was no stranger to me having judged him on two previous occasions. He still ticks all the boxes for me. Masculine all through, he scores for type, is well off for bone and substance and presents a glorious outline. Muscular neck of good length to balance, straight topline, deep brisket, well sprung ribs which extend well back, firm loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Super headed lad with nice width of skull between his correctly set ears, dark eyes of good shape, powerful muzzle, lovely pigmentation and scissor bite. Well made both front and rear, elbows close to the chest, feet of good size with nice thick pads and powerful hindquarters with nice strong hocks. Nice free action and covering the ground in profile. Excellent coat and presentation. CC.
2. Daly & Crockett’s Ch Thornberryhall Touch of Class. This 2 yr old is quite different to the winner but another of top quality and he pushed the winner hard. Strong, muscular neck of correct length, topline good although slight rise over croup, chest of good depth, ribbed well back and tail set on well and of good carriage. Shoulders well laid, elbows held close to the body and standing on good feet. Muscular hindquarters with pleasing turn of stifle. Masculine headpiece with slightly domed skull of good breadth, ears of medium-size and folded level with the top of the head, dark expressive eyes, powerful jaw and scissor bite. Moving out well, driving from the rear and using himself as he goes. Coat of good texture. RCC.

1. Smith’s Grevenia Higwen Amber Queen. Two very different bitches challenged in this class with the winner being this 11 mth old. She is a tad longer in body than I would prefer but I felt she was a better type plus she was good to go over and soundly constructed. Neck of good length, topline pretty good, ribbed well back and rib developing nicely for age, muscular loin and tail just right for set and carriage. Attractive head and expression; good skull, ears of correct set, moderate slope to stop, dark eyes of good shape, powerful jaw and good dentition. She is correctly angulated both front and rear, stands with good breadth in front and moves out freely with confident carriage. Best Puppy.
2. Westbrook’s Magembay Mulan. 10 mth old who is smaller all round than the winner and carrying less bone. Balanced head with feminine expression; fair breadth between her well set ears, nice dark eye, flat cheeks, well pigmented and scissor bite. Neck of pleasing length, good length to ribcage but a little ‘bum high’ in topline right now and therefore not quite the outline of 1. Moving soundly when going away but could stride out more on the go around. Good texture to jacket. Needs more time.

1. Banks’ Eleighwater Adelinda. Another class which saw two quite different girls compete. My winner was this 4 yr old who was good to go over. Balanced girl with lovely length of neck, topline pretty good, deep brisket, good length to her well sprung ribcage, muscular loin and tail set and carried well. Quality head with good breadth of skull, dark expressive eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear, standing on thickly-padded feet with good breadth in front and well-muscled hindquarters. Moving true both fore and aft but handler could move her out with slightly more pace. Good coat texture.
2. Trezise-Dundas’ Firstwish Ara. 5 yr old who is rather more refined than the winner but she presented a pleasing outline with neck of good length, firm level topline, deep brisket, ribcage carried well back and tail of good set and carriage. Feminine head with sufficient width between her well set ears, eyes of good colour, good length of muzzle and correct dentition. She is a tad narrower all through than the ideal. Good texture to jacket. Profile action could not compete with that of winner.

1. Oulton & Fourie’s Ch Whooperhill So Charming. Interesting class which saw this 22 mth old come out on top and for me, she was the star of the day. I thought her quite exquisite, excelling for type, balance and femininity. She presented a beautiful outline with muscular neck of good length, nice straight topline, good depth to brisket, super ribbing, firm loin and tail of correct set. Most attractive head with slight dome to skull which is of good breadth between her well set ears, dark expressive eyes with good pigmentation, powerful jaw and scissor bite. Well laid shoulders, elbows held close to the chest, excellent feet and firm, muscular hindquarters with good turn of stifle and strong hocks. Moves freely and really strides out well on the go around, making the most of herself at all times. Quality coat and first class presentation. CC & BOB. Making a well matched pair with the Dog CC winner. Delighted to see that she was later shortlisted in the last 7 of what was a very strong group.
2. Daly & Crockett’s Ir Ch/Int Ch/Ch Forlegd Bubbly Belladonna Baggins. 6 yr old who is quite different to the winner and presented here with her coat taken right back. Another with lots to like and she was pleasing to go over. Lovely length of neck, firm topline, deep chest, excellent ribbing, muscular loin and tail good for set and carriage. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression; good skull, ears of correct set, dark eyes with self pigmented rims, moderate slope to stop, plenty of power to jaw and good dentition. She carries good bone and stands well in front on good feet. Moving out well but winner had the edge.
