SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BATH 12

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

A quality entry with the sun gleaming on a field of ripening wheatens!
With such depth of quality in bitches the breed’s future is assured. Not many mouth problems I am pleased to report, however feet could be improved especially if attention is paid to the nail length. Loose fronts are more common than I would like, perhaps indicative of a lack of road work which would also improve the muscling on the hindquarters.

Puppy Dog 2

1. Matti & Omitogun’s Frontline Mr Feelgood, 8month quality young man. Good reach of neck, balanced throughout with good bend of stifle. Best Puppy

2. Williams’ Snowmeadow Peregrine Piper, quality pup all arms and legs difficult to assess as oh so wriggly, just needs more ringcraft.

Junior Dog 3

1. House’s Glendowan Tarquol, lovely sized Irishman with lovely front, soundly made with typical immature coat hiding nothing. Moved with drive.

2. Howes’ Daisymaes Desmond Decker, smart dog with good hind angulation, but slack in pastern which spoilt his outline standing, needs to tighten up. Overtrimmed for my taste.

3. Williams’ Snowmeadow Peregrine Piper

Post Graduate Dog 3

1. Hennefer’s Kariskye Handsome Harvey, quality compact dog of correct size and sound construction. Moved and showed well.

2. Mapson’s Zaraslake Sirocco smart dog, nice size, well made but coat texture and mouth caused me concern.

3. Simpson’s Loofahsa Bumble Bee, larger dog with good coat but lacking spring of rib and mouth not correct.

Limit Dog 5 (1 abs)

1. Walklin’s Kellynack Zoom Zoom, quality dog with good shoulders, well balanced throughout. Moved and showed well, would prefer a darker coat.

2. Fallon’s Janeyjimjams Jenson, smart quality dog of pleasing size, heavy in shoulder, front could be tighter. Lovely coat texture and colour.

3. Pascoe’s Middlebury Shooting Star, smart dog whose outline marred by shoulder placement and slack pasterns, on the move a much more pleasing picture.

Open Dog 8 (2abs)

1. Carter’s Choleanco Hunni Dream, top quality dog of correct size, compact sound construction, lovely head and expression. Good coat texture and depth of colour. Moved with drive and reach. CC

2. Clarke’s Loofahsa Scaramouche, another top quality compact dog of pleasing size and construction. Good coat and colour, moved and showed well. Res CC

3. Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, larger dog, good topline, moved with drive but still loose in front. Would prefer a better spring of rib.

Puppy Bitch 10 (2abs)

1. Naylor’s Amaricy I Won’t Back Down, 6month sweet bitch, lovely size and quality throughout.

2. Jefferies’ Frontline Simply Beautiful, 8month quality bitch with all the essentials who will look so much better when her coat matures.

3. Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari, completed a trio of lovely young ladies. Lovely head and expression front still loose at present.

Junior Bitch 4

1. Taylor’s Sweetiweeti Toffee Poppet, eyecatching bitch with good head excelling in well- muscled hindquarters, enabling her to move with drive round the ring.

2. Clarke’s Calvenace Fat Bottomed Girl, quality bitch, soundly made but not as well muscled as winner.

3. Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari.

Post Graduate Bitch 6 (1 abs)

1. Rogers’ Kizzahla Dreamsicle, quality compact bitch with lovely coat and colour. Well made, achieving a balance of substance and femininity. Moved with drive and reach. Res CC

2. Satherley’s Silkcroft Colour of Magic, ultra feminine quality bitch. Clean skull, good sweep of neck. Moved well. Colour on the pale side.

3. Jefferies’ Cuddly Keira, another quality well made bitch, slightly larger than 1 & 2. Good textured coat of good colour.

Limit Bitch 11

1. Hammond & Evans’ Calvanace Top Totti, top quality bitch of correct size. Good head and expression. Good coat and colour. Moved and showed well.

2. O’Sullivan & Harding’s Chekhina Streaming Sarayu , quality bitch soundly made, a little immature. Glorious silky coat. Only needs time.

3. Lawrence’s Emalot Little Miss Star another quality young lady, lovely size, good outline still a little loose in front.

Open Bitch 16 (2 abs)

1. Satherley’s Tobamorrey Sitting Pretty at Silkcroft, eyecatching quality compact bitch. Lovely head and expression, soundly made. Good coat and colour. Moved with drive and reach. CC & BOB

2. Munn’s CH & Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly top quality bitch with all the essentials, showed and moved with drive and enthusiasm to hold her place at 7years against the youngsters.

3. Matti & Omitogun’s Loofahsa Bohemia In Frontline, eyecatching quality bitch of sound construction. Good head, expression, coat and colour. Another who moved with drive and reach.

Best Breeder in Breed

Hammond & Evan’s evenly matched quality quartet.
