SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 21
I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge my breed giving CCs for the first time also to my stewards for their skilful assistance . I was pleased with the quantity and quality of the entry although some exhibits appeared unsettled on the day .
Junior Dog (1, 1A)
1st Satherleys - Silkcroft Game Changer - Promising 15 month old dog who stood alone in this class. Excellent in quality throughout, super head with strong reach of neck into good shoulder placement. Smart presentation . Moved and handled well.
Yearling Dog (1, 1)
1st Charleton’s - House of Softy Indus (Imp SWE) - Another of good construction, masculine head with flat skull. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, level topline . Moved well.
Limit Dog (4, 1A)
1st Clarke’s – Flaxela Perfect Storm – Powerful and masculine throughout . Keen and alert , excels in head with a super bite, straight front, level topline, coat of excellent colour and texture. Moved and handled well. RCC
2nd Taylor – Exlanahalls Silkbeard at Raising Sands – Nice type, well proportioned and standing fore square, pleasing in head, level topline held well on the move.
3rd Grimes-Watson – Janesjimjams (Devilinx) Devlin
Open Dog (9, 1A)
1st Satherley – AM.Can, Ch Silkcraft Freeze Frame (RE-IMP) – Strongest class of the day. Quality exhibit on top form, attractive head, dark eye, good ear set, ample reach of neck. Running into spirit level topline with tail on top. Providing a well balanced outline, excellent bone and muscle tone, coat of colour and with the required wave, put down to the minute, a credit to the kennel. CC
2nd Dowdy’s – Ch Greentree Gold Mambo to Denzilly (Imp USA) – a well known worthy champion and I can see why, excels in all aspects, scores in all head points with keen expression, compact and confident. Pushed for top honours today but preferred movement and ring presence of CC winner.
3rd Dalton’s – Ch Celtannia Atlanic Gold
Vetran Dog (2, 1A)
1st Fallon’s – Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson – Another top winning exhibit and at 11 years has lost little of his mojo. Balanced from top to tail, free moving with reach and drive. Perfect tail set carried on top at all times, handled well. BV
Minor Puppy Bitch (4, 2A)
1st Lui’s – Eblanahalls Gold Limerence – 8 month puppy bitch, a quality exhibit with a promising future, flat skull, dark eye, good bite, straight front ample reach of neck running into level topline with good tailset, moved with purpose and drive, lovely coat of colour. Handled confidently. Pleased to award her best puppy. BP
2nd Wards – Denzilly I Put a Spell on You – Balanced puppy of nice size, standing fore square with no exaggeration, pleasing head, ample neck, well proportioned and balanced body, presented in lovely coat and condition. Not as confident as 1st when moving.
Puppy Bitch (4, 4)
1st Lui’s – Eblanahalls Gold Limerence
2nd Evans & Hammond – Calvenace Super Trooper Liked her make and shape, very pleasing overall with a balanced outline and level topline. A little unsettled but plenty of time on her side.
3rd Fallon – Manawyddan Bizzy Lizzy
Junior Bitch (1, 1)
1st Bradford & Hobson – Abiqua Wild Dessert Whispers (Imp USA) Standing alone but certainly commands your attention. Extremely feminine in all aspects, head/eye/foreface/dentation all scored highly. Held topline in profile and on the move, smart presentation, needs to tighten up as she matures..
Yearly Bitch (4, 4)
1st Bott’s – Whitevale Calamity Jane Typical Wheaten outlook, very good head with pleasing expression. Moved soundly fore and aft, coat soft and plentiful but would like more colour. Time will tell.
2nd Charleton’s – House of Softy Indi Janeyjimjams (Imp SWE) Close decision between these two, providing a nice balanced outline with good topline and tailset. Another who was unsettled on the day.
3rd Mann’s – Bridgestones Star Garnet
Post Grad Bitch (4, 4)
1st Taylor & Taylor – Silvaluka Silkbeard at Raisingsands A well presented bitch who ticks all the boxes. Excellent outline with good proportions, correct head with neat ears. Level topline moving out well all ways. Very well presented.
2nd Paton’s – Denzilly Raspberry Beret Could have a bright future, liked her head with keen expression, well made with balance, standing fore square, well shaped neck, level topline held tail on the move.
3rd Griffiths – Manawyddan Chasing Rainbows
Limit Bitch (9, 9)
1st Springfords – Keevasdream White Linen Caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Of good breed type with much to admire. Feminine head, dark hazel eye, good mouth, strong neck running into well laid shoulders. Carried topline with tail on top, moved soundly with reach and drive. RCC
2nd Satherley’s Silkcroft Never Miss a Beat ………. And she didn’t! Similar virtues and attributes to winner. Feminine, classy bitch, typical from this kennel. Lost out on movement today. Her day will come.
3rd Gleeson’s – Glendowan Golden Brandy
Open Bitch (8, 8)
1st Witheyman, Satherley & Satherley – Silkcroft Born This WayShe entered the ring and bossed it! Top class bitch on top form, feminine and full of quality, super head, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, super topline carrying tail on top. Excellent coat of colour and wave, super presentation, moved soundly both ways, confidently handled. CC
2nd Francis & Francis – Ch Sawheaten Kiss From A RoseGood looking and smart titled bitch with everything where it should be. Presenting a beautiful outline when stacked and relaxed in her showing. Another close decision, not quite the
movement of my winners today.
3rd Howes & Howes – Daisymaes Tumbling Dice
Veteran Bitch (4, 4)
1st Atyeo’s – Kanjuley Scarlet O’Hara 9 year old bitch, lovely head with dark eye, enough reach of neck, level topline and good tailset. Her crowning glory is her super soft coat, of colour, shine and wave. Moves OK.
2nd Cooper’s Kanjuley Scarlet Ribbons Little sister to my class winner and similar in many ways, lovely head, good neck shape and topline.
3rd Lui’s – Thistle Them There Eyes at Eblanahalls
