SOFT COATED WHEATEN BLACKPOOL 12 Judge(s): MR JOHN BUNTING Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers It just goes to prove that the adverse weather conditions experienced, high winds with torrential rain, creating to some extent a quagmire showground, did not dishearten the true terrier people, as this was magnificently portrayed with not one exhibit absent. These undesirable elements made it most difficult for me to assess movement while judging. PD (1) 1 Ross’ Modny Style Non Stop, 8 months, giving handler a hard time, nice for size, pleasing head proportions & bite, compact, balanced, level back. Would benefit from more ring training. JD (1) 1 Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Blonde Neville, liked the size & shape of this young dog, well balance head, flat skull, parallel planes, ears well placed & carried, nicely developed in chest, ribs & body, short coupled, sufficient rear angulation, moved accordingly, good prospect. PGD (0). LD (6) 1 Fallon’s Janeyjimjams Jenson, quality yearling that instantly appealed for type. Good head, eye & pigmentation, well balanced, soundly constructed, firm level topline, high set well carried tail, nicely angulated hindquarters, made a good account of himself. CC; 2 Ross’ Seamrog Best Of Me for Keridown, nice strength to head, good neck & shoulders, fair front, ample bone, well ribbed back, pleasing topline, shapely hindquarters, showed OK. Slightly preferred balance & tail carriage of 1; 3 Pascoe’s Middlebury Shooting Star. OD (8) 1 Satherley’s Elkis Aquila of Silkcroft, excellent type, lovely masculine head & expression, correct shoulder placement & clean well boned front, body compact, strong & level transcending into well muscled shapely quarters, up to size, good free mover. RCC; 2 Leigh & Hobson’s Am Ch Abiqua Wild Knight Romance, smaller size than 1 but well balanced throughout. Good typical head & expression, good front construction, strong level back, deep chest, pleasing rear movement. Preferred size & tail carriage of 1; 3 Lawrence’s Snowmedow Numinous Niilo. PB (3) 1 Brooks’ Loofahsa Hip Hop, really beautiful promising puppy of 10½ months, completely feminine, good head, neck & shoulders, spot on for development at this stage, lovely balance & profile, well presented & handled. BP; 2 Dowdy’s Denzilly Sweet Rebel, 6 months, lovely type, most appealing feminine head & expression, balanced outline, developing nicely in ribs & body for age, good shoulders & nicely turned quarters, moved & showed well. Lost out to 1 on maturity; 3 Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Connemara. JB (4) 1 Clarke’s Calvenace Fat Bottomed Girl for Flaxela, 15 months, nice size & type, scores in body shape, compact, pleasing spring of rib & substance for age. Feminine throughout, lovely head & eye, level topline, high tailset, sufficient angulation, moved & showed well; 2 Connor’s Fantasa Blonde Nell, similar to 1 in most respects, both have a lot of good attributes. Completely feminine, pleasing expression, nicely developing in chest, ribs & body, slightly longer cast than 1. Holds topline well, very good on the move; 3 Moles & Williams’ Kinaelan Cachique. PGB (5) 1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Roogagh, appealed for size, outline & balance, head typical & in proportion to body, nicely angulated, pleasing depth to ribcage, short coupled, good tailset, holds topline well, good free mover; 2 Symons’ Dohoci Tinkabell, attractive bitch, touch smaller in size & not quite maturity of 1. Feminine throughout, good head balance, standing foursquare, pleasing topline & presentation, well let down hocks, moved OK & with confidence; 3 Barrett’s Saffini Truly Madly Deeply. LB (5) 1 Hammond & Evans’ Calvenace Toppa Totty, pleasing exhibit, very alert, ideal size & nicely constructed, pretty head of desired proportions, lovely neck & shoulders, short coupled, nice turn of quarters & low hocks, moved & showed very well. Good coat & colour. RCC; 2 Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, good head, balance & shoulder placement, quite nicely balanced body, topline & tailset, coat good for texture. Would like a touch more colour of coat at this age. Preferred movement of 1; 3 Lawrence’s Emalot Little Miss Star. OB (6) 1 Withington’s Ch Fantasa Blonde Lilley, quality bitch, in excellent condition, balanced, nothing exaggerated, desired head shape, good layback of shoulder & adequate depth of brisket, compact, firm level topline, high set well carried tail, strong shapely quarters, impressive on the move, handled to advantage.
