My thanks to the Committee for inviting me to judge at this prestigious show set in a beautiful part of the country, also my gratitude to the Stewards for their assistance in keeping things running smoothly. It was a mixed entry for size and English and Irish coat types in varying stages of development. My thanks to all exhibitors for making my day so enjoyable and I was pleased to see my choices did well in the respective groups, congratulations.
Puppy Dog. 2.
1. Moles & Williams Celtannia Atlantic Gold. 8 month old dog, already “all male”in his appearance. Coat has a good depth of colour for age. Head strong but not coarse, dark eye and correct scissor bite. Reach of neck led to laid back shoulders and short coupling. Well turned stifle. Confidently handled to get the best out of him, moved effortlessly with reach and drive, excellent ring presence, one to watch for the future. BP. TPG4.
2. Taylor's Eblanahalls Silkbeard. 7 month old dog, strong head, good pigment, bite and earset.
Darker wheaten coat, decent head, proportionate build. Today lacked animation and schooling. Settled and improved immensely as he went through repeat entries. Worth persevering.
Junior Dog. 4.
1. Wardle's Denzilly He's Got the Look. Fourteen month old dog with a good coloured jacket. Stood four square with a straight front, level topline and sufficient angulation. Strong head, dark eyes, pigmentation and correct bite. Arched neck led into laid back shoulders and short coupling. Moved confidently with straight reach and drive. Tailset correct, good ring presence, a nice package;well presented.
2. Patterson's Snowmeadow Sauls Symphony to Gaveleash. 13 month old dog , different type to one, slightly longer cast, coat still maturing, well muscled and well off for bone, balanced body. Nice dark eye, correct scissor bite. Moved true, well handled.
Novice Dog. 2.
1.Taylor's Eblanahalls Teckle Ish. Irish coated dog whose coat is surprisingly mature for age with soft silky waves of paler wheaten colour. Smaller in stature, but in proportion, good pigmentation, nice eye. Will be interested to see him when fully mature.
2. Taylor's Eblanahalls Silkbeard.
Post Graduate Dog. 3.
1. Lui's Eblanahalls Aye Right. Up to size but everything in proportion. Coat of pleasing texture developing a wave. Masculine dog,strong head, smaller ears and a correct scissor bite. Deep chest, well off for bone. Moved fluidly reaching out and covering ground well.
2. Barrett's Saffini Shining Star. Masculine dog, well balanced, good head, flat skull, presents a good outline while standing,darker soft wheaten coat. Straight front, good depth of chest, would prefer a tad more neck.
Limit Dog. 4.
1. Tilley's Janeyjimjams Jubilee Star at Starzak. SHCM. Correctly sized dog in good coat and colour. Decent head, good stop, big black nose, neat ears, hazel eye, correct bite. Moved steadily.
2. Johnson's Garsayno Gold Kipling, SHCM. Another correctly sized compact dog with unexaggerated proportions. Nice head, scissor bite, hazel eye. Well angulated with level topline. Moved well. Preferred the coat of 1.
Open Dog. 6.
1.Dowdy's Ch. Greentree Gold Mombo to Denzilly.(Imp. USA). Moderately sized dog, with no exaggerations. Strong head, flat skull, dark hazel eye, correct pigmentation and punishing scissor bite. Arched neck led to well laid back shoulders and level topline. Well sprung ribs, short coupled and on the move was light on his feet and moved straight with reach and drive. Bags of ring presence, could not deny him DCC & BOB. Please to see him appreciated by terrier group judgeTG3.
2. Ch. Daisymaes Enforcer. Another masculine exhibit, powerful head, dark eye, punishing bite. Lovely wave to the coat Arched neck, laid back shoulders and short coupled. Moved well with reach and drive. Unfortunate to meet 1 on the day. RDCC.
Puppy Bitch 4(1a).
1. Macgregor's Kirktonhill What It's Not. Very pretty 11 month old bitch. Proportionate build with lovely angulation, level topline and correct tailset. Paler soft wheaten coat . Correct head, scissor bite and dark hazel eye. Sufficient neck leading to laid back shoulders and spring of rib. Short coupled and moved confidently with reach and drive.
2. Lui's Eblanahalls Honey Trap. Another pretty puppy,8 months old wearing a good rich coloured coat. Correct proportions with strong head, hazel eye and scissor bite. Sufficient reach of neck and level topline. Moved well. These two could easily change places on another day.
Junior Bitch. 5(1a).
1. Macgregor's Kirktonhill What Its Not.
2. Wear's Eblanahalls Just Like Honey. 13 month old bitch standing with clear silky Irish Coat. Correctly proportioned with excellent pigment. Moderate head and neck, level topline. Moved well.
Novice Bitch. 2(1a)
1. Wear's Eblanahalls Just Like Honey.
Post Graduate Bitch 4.
1. Macgregor's Kirktonhill What I Believe. SHCM. Feminine well proportioned bitch of moderate size with no exaggerations. Good head and bite. Adequate reach of neck leading to well laid back shoulders and level topline. Well angulated and move straight with reach and drive.
2. Braelochyen Ice Quartz. Up to size for me but in proportion, Irish coated bitch with lovely silky coat and pigment. Well angulated with a level topline. Move with confidence and drive.
Limit Bitch. 3(1a)
1. Lui's Thistlebe Them There Eyes at Eblanahalls. SHCM. Well proportioned, balanced bitch, coat fell in soft waves. Small ears, dark eye and pigment with correct bite. Sufficient reach of neck, well sprung ribs and nice angulation. Moved well with good extension.
2. Brown's Carkbark Brown Eyed Girl. Another well proportioned bitch in good coat. Dark eye, pigment and correct bite. Nicely angulated. Moved well.
Open Bitch. 4(1a).
1. Gale's Flaxela Drop Dead Gorgeous. JW. Correctly proportioned and unexaggerated. Lighter soft wheaten coat falling in open waves. Dark eye, pigment and scissor bite. Reach of neck lead into well laid back shoulders, level topline and tailset bang on top. Well angulated and moved lightly with straight reach and drive. Had the “here I am attitude” has matured and blossomed nicely since I judged her as a puppy. BCC.
2. Howe's Flaxela New Vision at Daisymaes. Litter sister to 1, bigger in size but many of the same comments apply. A very confident mover, good ring presence. RBCC.
Veteran Bitch. 3(1a).
1. Bristow's Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard. 10 year old bitch of the correct size and proportions, beautiful wavy coat, good depth of colour. Level topline and good angulation. Moved well.
2. Brown's Loofahsa Honeybee at Carkbark. Larger built bitch with good proportions and angulation. Level topline and moved well.
