SOFT COATED WHEATEN BOURNEMOUTH 12 Judge: Mr J Horswell BEST OF BREED : 4888 WITHINGTON Miss S Ch Fantasa Blonde Lilley SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 12 Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers I really enjoyed this entry. Found them more uniform than I expected. A few wiry coats, some lacked pigment but plenty with those super eyes & expressions. Lots had that naughty fun streak. VD (1) 1 Rogers’ Ch Kizzahla Pompey Royale, good outline & nice profile action if lacking any enthusiasm. Super head, correct width of skull & muzzle strong & very slightly shorter than skull. Shoulders a bit forward. Super ribs & well let down hocks. PD (1) 1 Matti & Omitogun’s Frontline Mr Feelgood, happy young dog, head up & tail well set & carried. Lovely hazel eyes, liked head proportions, lengthy neck. Needs to broaden in body yet. Firm topline & soft coat. A bit up & down moving rather than driving but fairly true. JD (2) 1 Howe’s Daisymaes Desmond Decker, lovely silky texture to coat, masculine head which is well balanced, black nose, well pigmented eye rims & super eyes, correct neck, well laid shoulder, well ribbed. Tail a bit low set & needs to strengthen in rear. True moving out & back. PGD (3) 1 Atyeo’s Kanjuley Cormac, super coat & colour coming through OK. Lovely big black nose, hazel eyes. Rims could be darker, ears a bit flay away. Super neck & topline, correct proportions, well muscled rear. Movement could be tidier. LD (5) 1 Fallon’s Janeyjimjams Jenson, like his shape & balance. Pleasing head for width & strength but very slight dish to it. Super nose & pigment, strong neck, better front than 2, firm topline, well set tail, strong rear & low hocks, moves well. RCC; 2 Dunhill-Hall’s Fantasa Blonde Neville, well muscled up, moves well, super bite, nose & pigment. Just a fraction long & coat could be silkier. Super neck, firm topline, well set tail, low hocks; 3 Satherley’s Elkis Aquila of Silkcroft. OD (9) Few off bites & noses here. 1 Walklin’s Kellynack Zoom Zoom, lovely type, big black nose, super head, lovely eye, well set ears, correct neck, well laid shoulder, good rib, level back, well set tail, well bent stifle, true mover. Could have just a bit more stride. CC; 2 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, liked his type & outline, super big black nose, well balanced head, good neck, super ribs. A fraction long in back & not quite rear of 1. Correct coat texture; 3 Dunhill’s Ch Fantasa Blonde Kaos. VB (2) 1 Charleton’s Snowmeadow Janeyjimjams with Showadiwadi, well made, big enough, liked her width of skull. Slightly dish faced. Super eyes & pigment, enough neck, well sprung ribs, firm topline, good rear, went well, full of Wheaten character; 2 John’s Dohoci Kiss ‘N’ Tell, good size, well balanced all through. Not using her tail on the move. Good coat, super pigment. PB (8) Some very good pups here at different stages. 1 Hughlock’s Chekhina Galway Girl, really good pup, well made & sound, feminine head, super eyes, good neck, nice proportions, good coat texture & a clear colour, well bent stifle & low hock. BP; 2 Naylor’s Amaricy I Wont Back Down, very close up, darkest of pigment. Coat colour needs to clear but perfectly OK for a pup. Could have a slightly stronger head but is well balanced, good neck, balanced angulation, firm topline; 3 Jefferies’ Frontline Simply Beautiful. JB (8) 1 O’Sullivan & Harding’s Chekhina Streaming Soraka, very good pup, such a good mover. Feminine head, lovely eyes, correct width skull & strong muzzle, lengthy neck, balanced angulation, topline held on the move, well set tail; 2 John’s Dohoci Bohemian Rhapsody, very good young bitch, the most lovely eyes & expression. Just a bit lazy with her tail. Good head, well ribbed body. A bit long in back. Lovely wavy coat; 3 Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari. PGB (7) 1 Charleton’s Janeyjimjams Jemima, very good proportions, feminine head, super eye & pigment, lengthy neck, good front, well ribbed. Would like more hind angulation. Easy stride & holds level topline. Wavy, soft coat & good colour; 2 Rogers’ Kizzahla Dreamsicle, liked her outline & good coat. Carrying a bit too much weight & just runs up slightly in topline. Feminine head of strength, correct neck, well sprung ribs, well bent stifle & low hocks; 3 Jefferies’ Cuddly Keira. LB (8) 1 & 2 very good bitches & not much between them. 1 Grant’s Kellynack The Fabulous Fox, just a bit more fill of chest than 2. Lovely head, dark pigment, super eyes, correct length of neck, well laid shoulder. Could be a bit firmer in topline. Well made rear, very good on the move, soft coat with a typical sheen to it; 2 Lawrence’s Emalot Little Miss Star, very good bitch, lovely head, super eyes & expression. Just a bit longer than 1. Well laid shoulder, low hocks & very good mover; 3 Naylor’s Amaricy Femme Fatal. OB (10) Super class. 1 Withington’s Ch Fantasa Blonde Lilley, lovely bitch of correct type & just outmoved opposition in class. Super head, big black nose, correct eyes, strong neck. Shoulder could be better laid. Firm topline, grand body, well turned stifle & low hocks. CC & BOB; 2 Dowdy’s Ch Denzilly Toot Sweet, lovely type of bitch, just not quite giving performance of 1. Lovely head, good coat, very well made & super coat. RCC; 3 Howes’ Daisymaes Arrabella. JEFF HORSWELL |
