SOFT COATED WHEATEN CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 13 Judge: Mr Frederick Gadd BEST OF BREED : 5026 GENT Ms S Lyntonlepraz Darbello Lad Sh.CM SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 13 Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers What a show! Full of friendly rivalry & contentment. The first thing & a real credit to all was consistency in type coupled with excellent construction, & to a certain degree making my job that much easier, the other thing that stood out here was dentition the only way to describe it is excellent just one or two flush bites & patchy gums, & one slightly over. However I was disappointed with the narrowness of some exhibits while having excellent profile narrow across withers & hips – coats were at a premium with one coat in particular near perfect soft & silky. Temperaments were as one would expect perfect with just a twinkle of cheek in the eye; pigmentation was some of the best that I have seen in many years, however one or two very light coats present but with dark patches breaking through across the withers; movement has improved enormously giving me a great deal of satisfaction. What did concern me was one or two could have been a little better in front but generally bone in both density & straightness was excellent. I found my DCC & BOB in Gent’s Lyntonlepraz Darbello Lad, this fine fellow was almost unbelievable to look at & look I did, top sized full of quality, balanced masculine head & expression, distinct stop, tight lips clean throat, well arched neck, tremendous shoulder placement, deep long rib, short back, full of substance, angulations to die for, hindquarters packed with hard muscle, low set hocks, when I asked him to move he move regally around the ring, full of calmness & confidence; BCC, Withington’s Ch Fantasa Blonde Lilley, from a class full of quality giving me immense pleasure in my assessment of them, this excellent young lady right from top shelf was in tip top condition, superb head & expression, powerful jaw, clean throat, well arched neck, excellent front elevation, tremendous profile, deep, long well sprung rib, short back, good angulation, low hocks, powerful quarters, moved positively around the ring; & BP, Hopper’s Starcadia Olympic Gold Buzz, this fine youngster was one of three exhibits of quality, superb head finely balanced, super expression, strong muzzle, clean throat & well arched neck, deep rib, short back, moved well for his young age, full of himself, moved like a quality pup should.
