SOFT COATED WHEATEN LKA 12 Judge: Mrs Sandra Tanner SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE LKA 12 Judge: Sandy Tanner Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers I thoroughly enjoyed this appointment and thank exhibitors for thei rentries. I was disappointed to find poor dentition creeping back in, particularly in the younger generation which affected the placings of these otherwise promising youngsters this is something that needs watching. Tails are becoming more uniform. MPD (7, 1 abs) 1st ADAMS Saffini Crazy For You. BPD & BPIB. At his first show, needed time to settle on the stand and the move. Very typy, plush and well coloured baby coat, nicely balanced all round. Nicely maturing head I just hope he doesn t grow on. 2nd. GRIFFITHS Manawyddan I Got Rythmn. Another 6 mth old with terrier attitude which caught my eye. Lighter in bone than my winner but equally balanced, finished off with an Irish coat. His movement won him this placing today. THACKRAYS Abiqua Wild On An Ace Trip. PD (3) 1st GRIFFITHS Manawyddan I Got Rythmn. 2nd THACKRAYS Abiqua Wild On An Ace Trip: Just missing out on the top two spots in MPD, slightly smaller in stature and not so confident on the move but liked his style, head and coat. Another young male with good proportions. I can see him having his day. QUARRIES Quaywest Closer To The Edge. JD (3 1st BOASTS Denzilly Tickle Me Elmo. Only just into Junior but a youngster showing a lot of promise. Strong head and very mature coat for age. Nothing exaggerated. Needs time to settle on the move but please don t give up! WILLIAMS Snowmeadow Peregrine Piper. Very similar in type to 1 but lacking coat maturity and some ring confidence. Moved steadily, unlucky to meet 1 today. 3rd QUARRIES Quaywest Closer To The Edge. PGD (2) 1st O HARES Emalot Mr Happy. A good honest 3 yr old, overall balance is good with a strong headpiece. Excels in coat and movement ok although I would prefer a little more drive 2nd PURSERS Saffini Teenage Dreams. Another very appealing looking male. Masculine head with excellent pigment, balance good but not so positive in rear movement which let him down today. LD (8) A strong class with some nice males missing out on the higher placings. 1st GENTS Lynton Le Praz Darbello Lad. This 2yr old caught my eye when he entered the ring. He isn t the smallest of males and still has some coat maturity to come but his balance, conformation and oh so masculine headpiece won him the day. I loved his bone and he is the super sound on the move. Presented very well to show off his attributes. Very pleased to award him his 1st CC. 2nd MASONS Emalot Tommy Tango. RCC. This lad is an old favourite of mine but always seems to be the bridesmaid in the final awards on the day. Another with a balance and soundness based on substance. In good condition with a lovely mature coat. Just lost out on rear movement today. 3rd HOWES Daisymaes Desmond Decker. OD (8, 1 abs) 1st FALLONS Janeyjimjams Jenson. There is no denying the qualities of this young male. Nice for size, masculine head and excels in coat type and texture. Front movement very true, showing drive in profile but rear not so positive today, a little longer cast overall compared to my winners which cost him the higher awards on this occasion. 2nd LAWRENCES Ch Snowmeadow Numinous Niilo. Another male I have admired from the ringside. Similar comments to 1 in terms of head and coat. Handler certainly gets the best out of him. Moved well in profile but, as with some others, rear a little loose today. 3rd SATHERLEYS Elkis Aquila of Silkcroft. GCD (1) 1st PURSERS Saffini Teenage Dreams. MPB (8, 3 abs) A nice class babies that I am sure will change places many times. A real shame that many have lost their puppy colour very early. 1st JONES Zaraslake Pumpkin Pie. Compact your lady, pretty head with good pigment, coat texture good for age. Moved out well. Doing everything right on the day. BPB. 2nd BUSBYS Calvenace Minnie Ha-ha at Zakby. Many similarities in type to 1 but coat presenting a little woollier. Moved out well. Very close between these 2. PB (4) 1st BUSBYS Calvenace Minnie Ha-ha at Zakby. 2nd GRANTS Dannebriel Cirque Surreal. Mature young lady that looked pretty as a picture on the stand. Balanced, feminine bitch with lots to like but rear movement let her down today. 3rd GLEWS Braelochyen Koh-i-noor. JB (8, 3 abs). 1st MUNNS Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari. Stood out in this class. Balanced young lady, fabulous coat for a youngster both in texture and wave. Pretty head, positive outlook that showed on the move. RCC. 2nd O SULLIVAN & HARDINGS Chekina Streaming Soraka. Different in type to my winner but still lots to like. Silkiest of coats. Smaller all round and very feminine. Moved out well, would just like to see a little more drive for preference. 3rd HUGHLOCKS Chekina Galway Girl. PGB (9, 4 abs) 1st WASSALLS Emalot Little Miss Magic. What I would describe as a good honest Wheaten. Everything in the right place. No exaggerations. coat and moved out with drive which won her the class. 2nd CONNORS Fantasa Blonde Nell. Nice outlook from this young lady, pretty head. Slightly longer cast than my winner, moved out with drive in profile but front movement not so positive. Coat soft but appearing a little fluffy today therefore losing wave definition. 3rd THOBURNS Daisymaes Doris Day with Northridge. LB (11, 3 abs) 1st SATHERLEYS Silkcroft Colour of Magic. Liked this one as a puppy and she has matured well. Super head, balanced with a lovely profile. Coat still needing to mature a little. Moved out with drive, showing terrier spirit. A contender for the top awards. 2nd REVIS Garsayno Gold Gemma. Liked this young lady a lot. Different type and more mature coat but everything in the right place. Unlucky to meet 1 today. 3rd GRANTS Kellynack the Fabulous Fox. OB (8) What a super class of young ladies. 1st ESCOTTS Silkcroft Light Fantastic. There are only 2 words to describe this young lady glamour puss! I recall judging her as a puppy and awarding her 5/5 but how she has changed and matured. She really is pretty as a picture, sweetest of heads, lovely neck, outline and balance. Prettiest of coats in colour, texture and wave. Moved a dream when settled her handler had to work hard for this as she can still be flighty but I love her terrier spirit! BCC & BOB. 2nd SATHERLEYS Ch Tobamorrey Sitting Pretty at Silkcroft. Dam of my open and limit bitch class winners. She has most definitely passed on so many positive traits to her daughters. Similar in almost every way but not so settled in rear movement which gave her daughter the edge. 3rd WITHINGTONS Ch Fantasa Blonde Lilley. VB (2) 1st CHARLETONS Snowmeadow Jameyjimjams With Showadiwadi. 9 years young, this lady gives some of the youngsters today a run for their money in both coat quality and movement. Slightly larger all round but in proportion. A real showgirl enjoying her day. 2nd JOHNS Dohoci Kiss n Tell. Less keen in participating in the days activities but showed and moved ok. Mature coat, balanced head and outline. Judge: Sandy Tanner |
