SOFT COATED WHEATEN MANCHESTER 14 Judge: Mrs Patsy Hollings BEST OF BREED : 1499 CLARKE Mr & Mrs P & J Calvenace Fat Bottomed Girl JW Sh.CM SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE MANCHESTER 14 Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers PD (2) 1 Howes’ Daisymaes Enforcer, 12 months, stunning young man. Has a super head, flat skull, with clean cheeks & correct plains. Good strength in foreface, with strong teeth & big nose. The fine leathers fold & hang right. Slightly ached neckline flowing into well placed shoulder & depth of chest. Compact with level topline. Good width of bum with hock straight viewed from behind. Long stride displaying outgoing temperament. Coat is soft & silky with clear colour, very promising. BP; 2 Croxford & Dowdy’s Hajo V Diekhof, 8 months, giving a lot in maturity against winner, & therefore lacks the body & finish. Has type, good for size, firm topline standing & moving, just needs to develop behind. Decent texture of coat. JD (1) 1 Mapson’s Abiqua Wild Jack Of Hearts, 13 months, compact with typical & balanced outline. Pleasing head with correct skull, good strength in muzzle & width of under jaw. Nicely boned Stands on decent feet. Went with free action holding himself together. PGD (1) 1 Thackray’s Abiqua Wild On An Ace Trip, all male in head with well set eyes, good stop, good foreface, & big nose. Rather at that teenage stage & needs to fill in body, but the structure is there. Excellent soft, silky coat & well presented. LD (3,1) 1 Howes’ Daisymaes Desmond Decker, 3 years, flat skull, head of good proportions, with stop affording correct eye placement & fine leather. Well padded feet, straight front, & good lay of shoulder & return of upper arm. Correct ribbing, power in short loin, allowing the firmest back standing & moving. good width to quarters went with true action. RBD; 2 O’hare’s Emalot Mister Happy, 4 years. Liked him for size, right for bone, firm loin contributing level topline, lovely coat. OD (2) 1 Johnson’s Swed/Ir Ch Seamrog Cactus Lime at Garsayno, really loved his type, a true wheaten terrier. Masculine, clean, balanced not overdone in any way. Under his soft light wheaten coat is a soundly constructed male. Classic head, reach on clean muscular neck, compact body with depth & enough ribs to short developed loin. Strong quarters with width of muscle & well let down hocks which are strong to provide drive. Standing not as ‘glamorous’ as 2. Placed, but takes it away on the move, has long easy ground cover with exacting foot fall coming & going. BD; 2 Fallon’s Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson, smart, stylish with balanced outline depicting the breed. All dog, but not overdone, an object lesson in presentation of his super soft silky coat in first class order all through. Grand quarters, with powerful muscle. Just not the lay of shoulder of winner, therefore not the reach in front, but has quality. PB (0). JB (4) Have written; ‘3 decent ones’ & notice they are all by the same sire. 1 Hobson & Bradford’s Abiqua Wild Wrapped In Ivy, really liked this young lady. Right for size, super balance, so well constructed. Head is just typical, has reach of neck well angulated forehand, compact, firm topline, has width of quarters with low hocks which she can push off from. Good set on & beautiful coat, texture & colour. One for the future; 2 Moran’s Abiqua Wild She’s By Design, both theses 2 have promise, 2 Just holding herself together better both standing & moving, lovely for size & type; 3 Bradford’s Abiqua Wild Is All She Wrote. PGB (2) 1 Johnson’s Garsayno Gold, strong yet feminine head, with correct proportions & strong jaw. Reach of neck, from well laid shoulder, well bodied & in good muscular order. Has width of rump firm hocks & well bent stifle. Well padded feet. Goes with long low stride & holds herself; 2 Jones’ Zaraslake Pumpkin Pie at Silverluka, not quite as free in action as winner. Flat skull with brain room but not too much, good stop balanced foreface. Firm topline to well set tail. Silky coat presented in good order. LB (1) 1 Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrar, 2 years old, strong, feminine & typical in balance & proportions. Quality girl with most appealing head & eye. Super bone, legs & structure. She can move freely with true action coming & going. Presentation first class & coat, gleaming & of correct texture. RBB. OB (2) 1 Clarke’s Calvenace Fat Bottomed Girl, rising 3 years. Compact with correct leg length body proportions. Sound & firm throughout. Head presents a typical picture, with good ratio of skull to foreface. Fine leathers, well placed to enhance outlook. Straight front, well boned legs, to compact padded feet. Fit & well bodied, feminine but strong. Power from developed muscular quarters. Just a pleasure to see go round the ring. Coat in full bloom & correct texture. Super presentation without being over stylized. BOB; 2 Munn’s Snowmeadow Oolla O’ Luna, just not really concentrating or giving of her best today. Shame, she has type & is decent to go over. Mrs Patsy Hollings |
