SOFT COATED WHEATEN PAIGNTON 14 Judge: Mrs D Bott BEST OF BREED : 1600 FALLON Mrs A Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson JW Sh.CM SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE PAIGNTON 14 Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers I would like to thank the committee for their invitation to judge & the exhibitors for their entries. I was disappointed in mouths especially in the younger dogs & also found muscletone to be lacking, the breed standard asks for a fall in coat this does not mean that the coat is step cut to a inch all over & sometimes shorter. Overall I was pleased with the quality. PD (2) 1 Carter’s Zaraslake Indiana Twist from Chloeanco, a young dog to watch, pleasing head, nice front & depth of rib, moved steadily round the ring; 2 Walklin’s Kellynack Va Va Voltaire, just 6 months old & needs time to settle, but should have a promising future. JD (1) 1 Satherley’s Shamrock De Morrigan of Silkcroft, up to size, neat ears, tail on top, coat very short & woolly at this time, moved OK. PGD (2) 1 Mapson’s Abique Wild Jack Of Hearts, lovely & square all in proportion, good head leading into nice shoulders, coat on the change & would like more wave but did have a fall to the coat, well muscled hindquarters; 2 Howe’s Daisymaes Enforcer, good head & shoulders, longer cast than 1, coat of a better colour but did not move as well on the day. LD (8) 1 Atyeo’s Kanjuley Cormc, good head with really neat ears, good head planes & length of neck leading into well placed shoulders, level topline. Coat of good texture with a beautiful colour & fall, well muscled hindquarters, moved well to win the class & RCC; 2 Walklin’s Kellynack The Pied Piper, head good, teeth OK, moved well & again good muscletone, coat not as good as 1, shown & presented well. OD (3) 1 Fallon’s Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson, one out of the top draw, beautifully presented, not over done, lovely & square head of good proportions, good front & shoulders, holding his topline on the move with a coat of correct colour & texture, pleased to award him the CC & BOB; 2 Satherley & Smith’s Am Ch Haldane Double Down, good head & ears, not the length of neck as 1, good shoulders & short coupled tail, bang on top, moved well. VD (0). PB (4) 1 BP, Satherelys Silkcroft World Explorer, loved the terrier in this one, good head, neat ears, nice length of neck leading into good shoulders & front, moved well just hope coat clears; 2 Boast’s Zaraslake Storm In A Teacup, has a lot of the attributes as 1, just not showing the terrier sparkle today. JB (1) 1 Macgregor’s Kirktonhill What I Believe, happy 13 months old bitch, good head, neat ears, short neck with a good topline, tail on top, coat clear & of good length & texture, moved well. PGB (7,1) 1 Jefferies’ Frontline Simply Beautiful, 2 year old bitch, nice head with good planes, again another square outline, good colour & texture to the coat, moved well to win the class; 2 Ford’s Kanjuley Scarlet O’Hara, smaller in substance than 1, coat coming but has many of the attributes as 1 & on another day could easily change places. LB (7,2) 1 Moles & Williams’ Kinaelan Cachique at Celtannia, love this bitch, good head & body, nice & square, holds topline on the move, coat of great colour & wavy; 2 Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari, have liked this bitch from afar & she did not disappoint when going over, heavier cast bitch than 1 with a good head & mouth, coat lighter in shade than 1 but with a good fall & wave, moved well. OB (13,1) 1 Dowdy’s Ch Denzilly Sweet Rebel, 2 year old beautifully proportioned bitch of correct size & shape, feminine head, good neck & front, level topline, short coupled with well muscled hindquarters. CC; 2 Taylor’s Ch Amberstar Eight Days A Week, 5 year old bitch with all the attributes of 1, just preferred the front on 1. RCC. VB (1) 1 Jefferies’ Cuddly Keira, an 8 year old & really enjoying her day out, mouth in excellent order & would have liked some of the younger dogs to have a mouth of this quality, moved & showed well. Breeders 1 Munn’s. (Mrs) D BOTT |
