SOFT COATED WHEATWEN JUDGE RICHMOND 15

Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers

Thanks for a nice entry of Wheatens, I have long had an interest in the breed & I enjoyed my day judging them. I appreciated the good temperaments of the animals & the sportsmanship of the owners.

JD (5)

1 Meister & Brooks’ Silkcroft Crests Of Waves, very well balanced dog who scored over the 2 in topline, good level topline which he retained on the move. Front OK, good legs & feet. Well off for body, coat in good order, well balanced head, coat coming along nicely, good tail carriage. He moved out well with purpose & drive;

2 Catlow’s Flaxela Too Fast For Love at Justjingo, lovely type & well presented, not as clean in topline as the winner & a touch untidy coming towards, nice eye, good coat texture for age, enough rear angulation, good spring of rib. OK going away, fair length of stride in profile;

3 Blandford’s Janeyjimjams Joshua.

PGD (3)

1 S Crests Of Waves;

2 F Too Fast For Love at J;

3 Bristow’s Denzilly Sweet Destiny for Avard.

LD (2)

1 Croxford & Dowdy’s Hajo V Diekhof, this boy appealed in outline giving a well balanced picture standing & on the move. Masculine head, good over the neck, well off for bone, enough spring of rib, carried a good body. Well muscled hindquarters, good tailset, he is a touch untidy in front coming towards, good going away & retains his outline in profile. All in all a quality boy;

2 Thoburn’s Northridge Gotan Go, well presented boy was in super condition, for me I would prefer a touch more length of leg to balance the picture. Quality bone with good legs & feet, good body & rib, good coat texture, well balanced head. On the move he tended to lose coordination at times which spoils the picture & he is a touch close going away.

OD (7,2)

A class of quality dogs.

1 Fallon’s Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson, boy is out of the top drawer & appeals greatly for breed type & balance, quality well balanced head, good neck & shoulder, good front, well developed rib, carrying just the right amount of weight. Super topline, with good tailset & carriage, coat of good texture that was well presented. On the move he is true front & back & in profile he displays good length of stride. All in all he gave a good account of himself to win this class, then the CC & BOB, pleased to see him shortlisted in the group. Well done;

2 Howes’ Daisymaes Enforcer, another quality boy who did not make it easy for the winner, he too is of top quality & displays many virtues. He is a masculine boy without being coarse, nice head & eye, not as clean over the neck & shoulder as the winner. Good bone, legs & feet, well sprung rib, good hindquarters. Good topline & tailset. He was easy on the move front & back & retained his topline in profile, pleased to award him the RCC;

3 Johnstone’s Whitevale Motorway Madness at Rouxboos.

VB (3,1)

1 Harleton’s Snowmeadow Janeyjimjams with Showadiwadi, 12 years bitch was presented in good coat & condition, not a small girl but so well balanced all through. Quality head with a good eye, strong jaw. Good topline for her age, carried enough body, a touch laboured on the move as you would expect at this age but she was good going away & retained her topline at all times. A quality girl who I believe is the mother of the BOB. Well done;

2 Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, well presented girl was a nice size but did not have the balance of the winner who scored in outline, good head, quality bone, good body & rib, good coat of the correct texture. On the move she was sound coming towards but a touch close going away, she too retained her topline in profile

. PB (7,1)

A class of quality puppies.

1 Barrett’s Saffini Sugar And Spice, this girl is not the easiest to handle but once she settled to the job in hand she displayed true breed type with good balance all through. Lovely head & eye, true well boned front, good legs & feet. Super topline & tailset. Well muscled hindquarters, she moved so well on a loose lead & was sound both ways. Her coat is of good texture & was well presented, all in all a quality girl, pleased to award her BP;

2 Johnstone’s Loofahsa Fiamma Rouxboos, this girl too was very good on the move, heavier in coat than the winner, & not quite the balance of the first, maybe a touch more length of leg would balance the picture. Nevertheless she is a quality girl who gave a good account of herself, good rib & body, strong hindquarters, good tailset;

3 Francis’ Daisymaes Fleurie with Sawheaten.

JB (5,2)

1 Gent & Lees’ Flaxela My Secret Love, a larger type of bitch than 2 but so sound on the move, she is very good coming & going, good legs & feet. Very good topline & tailset. Coat of good texture, strong in hindquarters which she used to advantage producing good rear movement. She retained her topline stood & on the move;

2 Hughlock’s Janeyjimjams Jolene, a size smaller than the winner but balanced, good front, balanced head, good neck & shoulder, could be a touch firmer in topline & tends to fall away towards the croup. On the move she was OK coming towards but was weak in hock moving away & in profile her topline was not as firm as the winner;

3 Satherley’s Silkcroft Sky Full Of Stars.

PGB (5,1)

1 Johnson’s Garsaynogold Julia, this girl is very nice to go over, she does not make it easy for her handler but she is well balanced all through. Quality head & eye, true well boned front, well sprung rib, good topline, well muscled hindquarters, coat of good texture. On the move when settled she was true & easy both coming & going & retaining her outline in profile. Just needs time to settled in & mature;

2 Thoburn’s Northridge Who Are You, another bitch of good balance, nice head with good eye & expression, strong over the neck & shoulder, well boned legs & feet. Carried a good coat & body & gave a good account of herself on the move coming towards but the first scored going away, good in profile;

3 Atyeo’s Kanjuley Scarlet O’ Hara.

LB (6,1)

1 Hill’s Janeyjimjams Jive Queen, this girl appealed greatly for type & balance, she has that look of quality. Lovely head & eye, good over the neck & shoulder. Well ribbed body, coat of good texture that was well presented. She looked well standing with a good outline & tailset. On the move she was sound coming & going & displayed good length of stride in profile;

2 Busby’s Calvenace Minnie Ha-Ha at Zakby, a smaller type of bitch than the winner but balanced, quality head, true front, well off for bone, good body & coat, true coming towards but unsteady going away & lacking the drive of the first;

3 Wardle’s Saffini One And Only.

OB (9)

What a class with no absentees & a choice of quality bitches.

1 Rogers’ Kizzahla Dreamsicle, this girl was just my cup of tea, unexaggerated & true to breed type. Lovely head & eye, strong well boned front, very good spring of rib, super bone, good legs & feet. A true wheaten coat of good texture that was well presented. Well developed & muscled hindquarters. When asked to move she displayed soundness front & back & in profile her reachy stride carried her through to win this the class & the CC in good company. Well done;

2 Clarke’s Ch Calvenace Fat Bottomed Girl, I have judged this quality girl before & sung her praises. Good size, make & shape, well balanced head with good eye, well boned front, today maybe carrying a touch too much weight over the neck & shoulder. Well sprung rib, good topline & tailset, very well muscled & developed hindquarters, good tailset & carriage. On the move not quite as free in front as the first, but good drive from the hindquarters & lovely profile movement. All in all a quality girl pleased to award her the RCC. Well done;

3 Satherley’s Ch Silkcroft Colour Of Magic.
