Quite a varied entry as one would expect in an entry of this size. I was pleased with my winners. Although there is plenty of room, I don’t care much for the venue and I don’t know how people can allow their dogs to bark – it does echo so much in this place!

Special Veteran Dog (2.1)

1st Glew’s Wentloog Mozambique At Braelochyen. Strong masculine dog. Powerful muzzle, good pigment. Moved well. Soft and silky Irish type coat – reasonable colour BVD.

Special Vintage Dog (1)

1st Tilley’s Emalot Golden Delicious at Starzak ShCM. 12 years old. Well-proportioned and nice size. Moved with head and tail up. In good nick for age.

Minor Puppy Dog (3)

1st Bristow’s Denzilly Sweet Destiny for Avard. 6 month old. Deep coloured puppy coat. Good pigment and big black nose and smallish ears giving the correct expression. Moved soundly round the ring. No exaggerations but clearly likes his food!

2nd Withington’s Fantasa Blonde Qiwi
Short back and long neck and rather over angulated at the rear. Looks attractive but not really moderate in type.

3rd Switzer’s Starcadia Double Trouble
Nice coat and colour but needs a good tidy up to show off his attributes.

Puppy Dog (2)

1st Walklin’s Va Va Voltaire
Looked ok standing but front movement was not great. Seemed rather nervy which may have accounted for him not putting on a good show.

2nd Glew’s Braelochyen Abracadabra
Irish type puppy. Happy and alert but looking rather rangy at the moment.

Junior Dog (6.1)

1st Revis Taiaeko Niflheim’s Wizard
Good overall shape. Coat light wheaten and well presented to show off his assets. Kept his good topline on the move. Up to size.

2nd Moles and Williams’ Wheaten Goblins Eros for Celtannia imp
Smaller Irish type dog. Neat small ears. Good overall shape and moderate in type. Mouth not good.

3rd Carter’s Zaraslake Indiana Twist From Chloeanco
Colour ok but coat plush and thick at the moment. Hope it thins out a bit as he is a nice shape but up to size.

Special Yearling Dog (2.1)

1st Wheaten Goblins Eros for Celtannia imp

Novice Dog (2)
1st Suckling’s Strassallagh Aleksander
Pale colour and did not care for the very short hair cut which emphasised the rather low tailset!

2nd Calvert and Naylor’s Amaricy Bullet Proof
Would prefer more colour and needs to put on some weight.

Graduate Dog (0)

Post Graduate Dog (4)

1st Griffiths’ Manawyddan I got Rhythm
Moderate in type and lovely outline. Silky coat. Deep chest. Good pigment and best overall shape.

2nd Mann’s Starcadia Olympic Goldenson
Nice dog. Moved really well but would prefer smaller ears.

3rd Mckyntyre’s Thistlebee Mr Bojangles
Rather tall and not so deep in chest as 1 and 2 and tailset slightly lower.

Mid Limit Dog (5)

1st Johnstone’s Whitevale Motorway Madness
Compact and moderate in type. Neat small ears with typical Wheaten expression. Deep chest good colour with curl in the coat. Strode out and held his good topline on the move.

2nd Wright’s Kariskiye Horrid Henry for Abbeymead
Lovely silky textured coat of good colour. Moved ok but didn’t stand out like the winner.

3rd Purser’s Saffini Teenage Dreams
Good overall shape. Good pigment but rather a lot of black in the coat. Seemed rather hot and bothered!

Limit Dog (9.1)

1st Maleary’s Saffini Teenage Sensation
Lovely silky correct coloured coat giving the right overall impression. Well-proportioned with typical wheaten expression. Moderate angulation giving rise to correct movement. RCC

2nd Thoburn’s Northridge Gotan Go
Good neck topline and tailset and shown to advantage. Preferred coat and colour of 1.

3rd Howes’ Daisymaes Enforcer
Palish dog with quite a dark muzzle still. Looked ok standing but didn’t hold up so well on the move.

Open Dog (10)

1st Satherley and Smith’s Am Grd Ch and Am Ch Haldane Double Down imp
Big black nose and typical Wheaten expression with neat small ears. Good topline and tailset. Not exaggerated. Moved well when settled. Coat falling nicely in loose waves. CC and BIS

2nd Fallon’s Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson
Compact dog with much to like. Not as masculine looking as 1 and topline sloping slightly to the rear.

3rd Carter’s Ch Chloeanco Hunni Dream ShCm
Pleasing shape and coat and colour ok.

Special Veteran Bitch (5. 2)

1st Hanna’s Ch Ir Ch Kinaelan Quietly Confident
Neat ears, dark pigment. Moderate in type with good long low stride as asked for in the standard. Quite curly coat and looking very much a terrier. BVIS

2nd Jefferies’ Cuddly Keira
Taller. Not quite so steady on the move. Nice colour. Big black nose

3rd Griffiths’ Wintrypark Miss Goodnight with Manawyddan
Smaller head with not such a good reach of neck.

Special Vintage Bitch (4.1)

1st Hanna’s Ch Kinaelan Cuchylaine
Happy girl. Showing naturally with head and tail up. Neat small ears and typical wheaten expression.

2nd Munn’s Ch Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly
Another lovely dog who moved beautifully round the ring. Just preferred head of 1.

3rd Carter’s Chloeanco Sunswept Dreams
Unfortunately not enjoying her day too much. Lovely coat and colour for age.

Minor Puppy Bitch (7)

1st Satherley’s Silkcroft Sky full of Stars
Well made and won the class on movement. Moderate angulation. Good pigment and coat falling nicely.

2nd Withington's Fantasa Blonde Queen Bee
Lovely colour but pigment not as good. Shoulder placement could be better.

3rd Brown’s Carkbark Brown Eyed girl
Promising baby. Liked her head and expression. Handler having a problem getting her to settle – just being a wheaten!

Puppy Bitch (6)

1st Williams’ Kellynack Joie de Vivre
Good pigment and head. Liked her overall shape with well laid shoulders and correct angulation. Coat rather plush at the moment but presented to make the best of it.

2nd Johnson’s Garsayno Gold Julia
Slightly larger ears which alters the expression somewhat. Well constructed and moved well enough. Nice colour but although she looked well groomed there were matts in the legs!!

3rd Shrive’s Emalot Santa Maria

Junior Bitch (9.4)

1st McGregor’s Kirktonhill What I believe
Standing foursquare with head and tail up without the handler fiddling! Compact and typical with no exaggerations. Moved well round the ring. Eyes lighter than some today, but the standard calls for a clear bright dark hazel. Some of those on show today were nearly black which does alter the expression.

2nd Satherley’s Silkcroft World Explorer
Well made with well placed shoulders and good reach of neck. Would prefer a less narrow muzzle. Standing, looks a picture. Sure she will do well. BPIS

3rd WheatenRebel’s Them There Eyes.
Natural looking rather pale.

Special Yearling Bitch (4.2)

1st Sidereal’s Essence Of Time
Up to size but good shape with good reach of neck. Correct angulation providing good movement.

2nd Hobbs’ Kellynack Rapunzel of Dibndol
Paler colour. Irish type. Neat head and expression

Novice Bitch (4.1)

1st Busby’s Calvenace Minni Haha at Zakby
Typical head and expression with big black nose. Coat could be softer.

2nd Lui’s Thistlebee Them There Eyes
Pretty and feminine but low tailset.

3rd Wren’s Kays Irish Delight
Unfortunately not making it easy for judge or handler

Graduate Bitch (7)

1st Walters and Bredemere Walters’ Gwendomydd Gwenith Aur
Typical happy wheaten showing with head and tail up. Lovely feminine expression. Good topline and wheaten colour.

2nd Stone’s Braelochyen Blue Empress
Really good mover with long low strides. Preferred coat of 1.

3rd Catlow Belleefee Helleborne of Just Jingo
Larger bitch but typical nonetheless.

Post Grad Bitch (9.1)

1st Wardle’s Saffini One and only.
Lovely coat and colour with slight blemish. Neat ears and typical feminine expression. Moved soundly due to good construction.

2nd Herbert’s Calvenace She’s The One at Julibidd
Another attractive well made bitch. Moved soundly enough.

3rd Jeffries’ Frontline Simply Beautiful
Nice outline but preferred head of 1 and 2

Mid Limit Bitch (9)

1st Hill’s Janeyjimjams Jive Queen
Won the class on movement striding round the ring with that long low stride. Well up to size but feminine expression and soft silky coat.

2nd Jones’ Zaraslake Pumpkin Pie at Silverluka
Thought my winner standing. Loved her head and neat ears. Rather shorter stride decided the place.

3rd Busby’s Calvenace Killer Queen at Zakby
Moderate in type. Seemed rather bored.

Limit Bitch (11.2)

1st Griffiths’ Manawyddan Brigid
Loved her. Just made me smile whenever I went up to her – that lovely warm welcoming Wheaten expression and a wag of the tail. Feminine with good head and ears. Good overall shape. Like the size and showed herself off naturally.

2nd Revis’ Garsayno Gold Gemma
Slightly larger. Colour ok. Moved well round the ring.

3rd Wardle’s Saffini Yours Truly
Silky coat with good colour. Typical head and expression. Not moving as well as the other 2.

Open Bitch (15.1)

1st Grant’s Kellynack The Fabulous Fox ShCm
Mature bitch. Just loved her typical wheaten expression and happy outlook. Beautiful head .Coat could be softer but presented to show off her great outline. Moderate in type and moved soundly round the ring and well deserved the CC and RBIS.

2nd Satherley’s Ch Silkcroft Colour of Magic
Looked a picture standing but preferred side movement of 1. Another good head and coat falling nicely. RCC

3rd Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari JW ShCM
Slightly larger. Sound enough and moving well.
