THE SOFT-COATED WHEATEN TERRIER CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN
on 18th March 2017 at Steventon, Oxon

This was a happy friendly show with a good atmosphere throughout complete with a splendid lunch. It was a great honour to be offered the pleasure of going over such a good entry of charming, high quality dogs so a big thank you to all the committee and exhibitors for giving me such a very enjoyable day..

DOGS

PUPPY 2e, 0ab

1.  Barrett's Saffini Shining Star. Happy and playful at eight months with good body, coat and spring of rib. Well shaped head.  Just scored over what transpired to be his litter brother on darker eye pigment.

2.  Stevens' Saffini Something About You.  Good layback of shoulder and, currently, just a touch more positive behind. Already in excellent coat and body for his age,  well set and carried tail.

JUNIOR 2e, 1ab

1.  Levey's Olicana Rocks Marcello.   Just out of puppy and inclined to fly his ears at times. Strong and well built with good body and well laid shoulder.  Proved that he is an extremely good mover when his  handler went a little faster. He has such a good attitude.  An obedient, willing showman.

Lovely for size and type, a very good mover and superb showman.  Most impressive.   RBD

OPEN DOG 5e, 1ab

1.  Dowdy's Greentree Gold Mobo to Denzilly (Imp USA).  Only just 13 months old but already has the wow factor! PROGENY 3e, 1ab

Both beautiful bitches who are obviously producing high quality typey stock. It would have been easier to have had two first prizes here but the winner just had the edge on the day.

1. Satherley's  Ch Silkcroft Colour of Magic

2. Chaleton's Ch Janeyjimjams Jemima

BRACE 3e, 1ab

1.  Moles & Williams well matched happy pair who, I suspect much to their owner's surprise and delight, went beautifully together.  .

2.  Satherley's high quality couple, just not co-operating as perfectly as the winners on the move but lovely nonetheless.

JUNIOR HANDLING
6 - 11 years

1.  Alice Hill.  Very neatly and tidily dressed.  Only 8 years old but already such a competent handler, very businesslike and seemingly so calm, doing exactly as asked if inclined to go just a little too far ahead of her dog with over-enthusiasm at times.  How lucky the breed is to have such a keen young girl of such potential talent in their midst!

12 - 16 years

1.  Min Witheyman.  A really excellent handler with no exaggerations, talking quietly to her charge  and, simply, did everything right to make the dog the most important part of their twosome.   Again, what a joy to have a handler with her obvious ability, patience and understanding within the breed!
