SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 22

Thank you to all exhibitors for their entry, and my steward for the very efficient management of the ring.
All dogs presented had correct bites and the large teeth that I prefer to see. Pigment was also good. Conformation and type is much improved and movement is better overall. The only minor problem I have is with the diversity in coats.... that is not to say they are wrong in either overall colour or texture just that more uniformity would be good. The difference in the light, between outside and inside seemed to make this more obvious to me. This is just my opinion.
It was a real pity that we had to move indoors after the judging of the dog classes. I was struck by the difference it made to the bitch classes. The noise was quite intense and it is easy for us not to recognise the effect this may have on some dogs. I have also decided, that there is no better way to look at a Wheaten coat than out in the open air! The lighting inside the halls doesn't do the Wheaten coat any justice at all!
