I would like to thank the Committee of Three Counties for the invitation to judge SCWT and for their kind hospitality. Thanks also go to my amazing stewards, Trish and Bill, for keeping both me and the classes moving along, and not forgetting the exhibitors for providing me with a wonderful quality entry. It is two years since I judged the breed, and it was pleasing to see that mouths seem to be improving and more exhibits are moving true behind. It was also good to see so many really nice youngsters coming through the ring today,  this bodes well for the future.

 PD (2)

1 Gent & Lees’ Sumirick Eye Of The Storm, 6mth old male at his first show. Neat, compact outline, with coat of good colour and texture for age. Nice head with good mouth, medium ears, and dark eyes. Good length of neck, deep chest and straight front. Level on top and good bend of stifle. Although a little erratic on the move at times, when settled he showed some good movement with reach and drive.

2 Cleverly’s Janeyjimjams Jinja Beer,  11mth old male. Slightly longer cast than 1, but still balanced in profile. Good head, nice earset and excellent length of neck. Topline ok with good tailset, would prefer a little more bend of stifle. Moved ok but preferred the movement of 1.

JD (1)

1 Satherley & Bye’s Silkcroft Perfect Symmetry (AI),  Stood alone but deserved his place. Compact, neat outline. Coat of good colour and texture for age and developing well. Good head with alert expression. Good front assembly with straight front. Level topline and good tailset. Moved well in profile showing plenty reach and drive,  though there was some crossing of front legs when coming towards.

LD (1)

1 Gent’s Calvenace House Of Fun,  4-year old male with balanced outline. Neat small ears. Excellent mouth showing good scissor bite. Straight front, good shoulder placement, and ok depth of chest. Level on top and good tailset. Movement ok but would have liked to see a more fluid movement with more reach and drive.

OD (5)

1 Walsh & Hanna’s Teaghlach Angel Kinaelan (Imp Esp),  2-year old compact male of nice size and with a balanced profile. Irish coat type with soft loose waves and shine. Lovely masculine head with excellent mouth and bite, good sized black nose and tidy small ears. Loved his terrier expression. Excellent length of neck into good shoulders, plenty depth of chest. Straight front. Level topline and tail bang on top. Good rear assembly with plenty bend of stifle and well-muscled thighs. He showed ring presence and moved so easily around the ring with purpose, and plenty reach and drive - even though his handler did try to sabotage things by taking a tumble in the final challenge! Pleased to award him BOB and DCC.

2 Herbert’s Saffini Smooth Operator At Julibidd,  4-year old well put together dog. Different type to 1 in terms of size and build, but still much to like. Strong masculine head with good mouth and lovely dark eye. Neck of good length with slight curve into well placed shoulder. Straight front and good depth of chest. Level topline held on the move. Nice bend of stifle. Moved well showing plenty reach and drive. Pleased to award him RDCC.

VD (2)

Both dogs of similar age, but different types.

1 Williams’ Flaxela Living Legend At Gwendonydd. Larger male. Coat of good colour and texture. Strong head. Good mouth and neat ears. Excellent length of neck into well placed shoulder. Straight front and good depth of chest. Level topline and tail well set on. Moved well. Pleased to award him BV and delighted to see him take TVGp3.

2 Cooper’s Janeyjimjams Jubilee Juke, smaller male. Slightly longer cast than 1 Lovely texture to coat. Good head with neat small ears. Good length of neck and front assembly. Ok topline. Would have preferred more bend of stifle. Movement a little tight around the ring today.

PB (5)

What a wonderful class of youngsters.

1 Fallon’s Crofftysofty Bee Yonce. Very feminine bitch, just coming up to her 1st birthday, with a good, balanced outline. Lovely clear coat of good colour and texture. Pretty feminine head with nice mouth, neat ears and dark eye. Plenty length of neck into nice shoulder placement. Good front and depth of chest. Level topline which she kept when moving, and good tailset. Plenty behind and enough bend of stifle. Moved well and with purpose, showing easy reach and drive. Pleased to award her BP and delighted to see her go on to take TPGp2.

2 Williams’ Hopla Kia At Gwendonydd (Imp Dnk). Another pretty bitch. 8 month old. Slightly longer cast than 1 Good coat for age. Very feminine head with good mouth, small ears and lovely expression. Excellent length of neck into good shoulder. Straight front and good depth of chest. Level on top and good tailset. Another good mover with enough reach and drive.

JB (2)

Two more good quality youngsters.

1 Thoburn’s Northridge Wolf Bluff. Eye-catching, 16-month old bitch with plenty ring presence. Strong type, yet still very feminine. Coat of correct colour and soft texture, showing plenty wave even at this age. Pretty head with good black nose, neat small ears, dark eye and a lovely expression. Nice mouth. Excellent length of neck and good shoulders. Straight front and enough depth of chest. Level topline, both standing and on the move, with good tailset. Plenty behind and good bend of stifle. She showed such easy movement around the ring with so much reach and drive. Pleased to award her BCC. I believe this is her second. I am sure the third won’t be far off!

2 Satherley & Bye’s Silkcroft Crystal Ball (AI). 13-month old and another pretty bitch with a feminine head. Coat of good soft texture and colour, but wave not yet as developed as 1 Enough length of neck and good shoulders. Straight front and good depth of chest. Level on top. Enough bend of stifle. Moved ok, though not quite as settled as 1 on the move.

 PGB (1)

1 Walsh’s Crofftysofty Hay Siri. Smaller sized 2 year-old bitch. Nice head with small tidy ears. Good length of neck and front assembly. Topline level.  Enough bend of stifle. Moved ok around the ring but I would have liked to see her move with more purpose.

LB (8,2)

1 Thoburn’s Northridge Hold Your Horses. Strong yet feminine 3 ½ year old bitch with clear coat of good colour and texture, and loose curl. Strong head, but still feminine and not coarse, with big black nose, small well set ears and dark eyes. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders. Straight front and good depth of chest. Level topline and tail nicely set on. Plenty behind with good rear angulation. Moved well with confidence and showed plenty reach and drive.

2 Dowdy’s Denzilly Waking The Witch. Very feminine compact bitch, and another with a coat of good colour and texture. Finer head than 1, with small ears and dark eyes. Good mouth. Excellent length of neck and good lay of shoulder. Straight in front and good depth of chest. Level topline with good tailset. Lovely bend of stifle. Showed plenty reach and drive around the ring with an easy stride. These two could easily change places on another day.

 OB (6)

1 Satherley’s Ch Silkcroft Never Miss A Beat. Overall a nice bitch with plenty to like. Lovely coat with good colour and correct texture. Strong but feminine head, with neat ears. Good mouth. Pleasing length of neck into good lay of shoulder. Strong front assembly with straight front and enough depth of chest. Level topline held on the move. Plenty behind and good bend of stifle. Best mover in the class today with an easy flowing stride and plenty reach and drive. Pleased to award her RBCC.

2 Barrett’s Saffini The Sweetest Taboo. A well-balanced bitch with good proportions. Coat of good colour and texture. Feminine head with neat small ears and good eye. Good mouth. Good length of neck and well placed shoulder. Straight front, level on top and good tailset. Plenty bend of stifle. Moved well, but not quite the ease of stride shown by 1.
