SOFT COATED WHEATEN WELKS 19 Judge(s): MRS ZENA THORN-ANDREWS VD (2) 1 Gleeson's Oglyssanes Durango Dust. Two super "older" boys, both with correct coats. Winner has a lovely head, folds his ears somewhat though. Ok in front and rear moving. Super tail set and carriage, good legs and bone, with neat compact feet. 2 House's Glendowan Tarquol. Really enjoying himself too, good size and proportions of height to length, and standing four square. Neat low hocks. Enough neck to carry his head proudly. Liked his head but his mouth has suffered a bit over the years. Has a good silky coat. PD (2) 1 Morris's Loofahsa Hiraeth. Good size, head excellent with slightly shorter muzzle. Ok in front and forechest. Level back, and it is nice and strong too. Well set on tail. At the moment is showing a lot of black in his head furnishings and shadings on back coat, which I hope will clear as he matures. Moved well. 2 Kenneally's Loofahsa Humdinger. Tall, and not well behaved. Coat very woolly, and he needs to settle in temperament which is a bit over the top. Pacing moving too, now and then. He really does need some training. JD (1) 1 Hanna's Kinaelan Kilmore. Irish type, head and muzzle nice and strong. Ears set a wee bit high which you do see more often in Irish type than English or American. They should be set to the side of the head and carried close to cheeks. Good neck and front. Well bodied and sound in rear. Coat coming on well, as it always takes longer in this type to mature in length. YD (1) 1 Page-Ginnelly's GLendowan Extra Special. Another very pleasing Irish type. Beautiful head and eyes, neat ears carried well. Excellent front and forechest, shoulders set nicely back. Bone could be a little heavier, and he needs more width across the quarters which would help his rear movement. PGD (2) 1 Holding's Celtannia Atlantic Gigolo. Coat very woolly and not falling in loose curls or waves. Colour is coming on well for a 19mth old dog. Great for size, ok in front, and his bone is adequate. Level backline, moved well all round. His tail curls over to touch his back unfortunately. LD (4) 1 Cooper's Janeyjimjams Jubilee Juke. Res CC. Very typical indeed with a loose silky coat, he can look slab sided at first glance but he is not, and ribcage is fine. He doesn't carry a lot of coat which can give that impression. Lovely size, and he has a real terrier look about him. Fit and well muscled, moving well to take the Reserve CC. 2 Satherley's Silkcroft Freeze Frame. A nice youngster, beautiful head of correct proportions. Pleasing to go over for make and shape. Coat still very woolly and heavy, and needs time to drop properly. Promising I thought. 3 Williams' Flaxela Living Legend Of Gwendonydd. OD (6) 1 Hanna's Kinaelan Jixditti CJW18. CC. Tight decision but the easy smooth side action of this powerful well muscled dog stole the day. His attitude and sheer terrier like build and conformation pleased me enormously, he can try and out run his handler but when settled it gave me a good look of his excellent movement. A true dog of Ireland! Coat falling in loose waves and of silky texture, bone and feet of the best and he has a very attractive head. 2 Blandford's Janeyjimjams Joshua. Also a top class exhibit, loved his proportions of height to length, just not quite the front of above, and not the length of stride in profile when I compared the two of them. I did admire the body and quarters of this dog and beautifully presented coat. 3 Howe's Ch Daisymaes Endorcer. Sp Beginners D (1) 1 Morris' Loofahsa Hiraeth. Sp Beginners B (1) 1 Crossley's Calvenace Lucky Lady. 9 mths old, very immature, and needs time of course, but she is promising, with a lovely head and pigment. Neat well carried ears, good front and a level back. Moved truly for age. I thought a little more bone would be to her advantage. VB (2) 1 Williams' Ch Brynhir Rochelle Lil Rock. Amazing condition for 11 yrs old. Beautiful hazel eyes, excellent pigment, clear coat colour. Super construction and her movement was a real joy. Coat falling nicely in loose waves, well set on tail. Good bone and tidy feet. A real treasure indeed. MPB (2) 1 Witheyman & Satherley's Silkcroft Born This Way. Forward 6 mth old. Liked her head, ok in front, really steady topline on the move. Her tail comes over too much, otherwise looks promising, an2 Crossley's Calvenace Lucky Lady. PB (2) 1 & BP, Brooks' Loofahsa Hugger Mugger. Black on her face needs to clear, back coat promising, and she is very well muscled and fit, which reflects in her well coordinated movement, true and straight, with a fair amount of stride length. Deep enough in chest, correct level back, and well constructed quarters. Smart and very promising. 2 Crossley's Calvenace Lucky Lady. JB (5) 1 Satherley's Silkcroft Point And Shoot. Coat fairly promising and reasonably silky, good for size and she is feminine. Excellent topline, well put together in rear, short coupled, went well up and down, and in profile. Hope her coat waves in time as she has very straight leg hair at the moment. 2 Francis' Sawheaten Kiss From A Rose. Upstanding and showing well, coat more woolly than it should be. She is bright and confident, stands well with her legs well under her. Maybe a mite long in back. Good for bone and under the coat her ribbing is deep and long, as it should be. 3 Springford's Keevasdream White Linen. YB (4) 1 Shrive's Emalot Sweet Child O Mine. She needs more muscle as she was soft in condition. Pleasing head and ear set. Reasonable front, deep enough and tail carried gaily. She has enough bend of stifles and low hocks but the lack of muscle means she is moving very close going away. 2 Springford's Keevasdream White Linen. Up from previous class, she is a trifle long in back and was pacing occasionally. Shows herself off beautifully, and has a good strong head and neck. Coat fair, tail could be set just a little higher. PGB (7) 1 Davies' Janeyjimjams Jam Puff At Brynhir. Preferred the lovely coats that second and third had, but this bitch was best for construction and movement. Good angulation both ends, hard backline, and tail set well up. Fair coat, waving nicely. Lovely attitude too! 2 Atyeo's Kanjuley Scarlet Rose. Most delicious coat and the darkest of pigment, including the skin which was nice to see. Square build, tail carried well up. Good for overall type, and quarters. Handler could make more of her moving. 3 Mackenzie's Linatina Kiss On The Chic. LB (5) 1 Hughlock's Janeyjimjams Jolene At Keevasdream. Smart, feels good to go over. Coat in excellent order, and of pleasing texture and colour. Clean head, smooth cheeks, neat ears. Enough neck to show off her outline and carry her head proudly. Well handled and shown, powerful impressive mover. She should get made up with ordinary luck. 2 Clarke's Flaxela Everlasting Love Ir Jr Ch. Irish type which I admire, deep pigment, loose curls of silky texture. Not quite up to the winner on the day for movement, but an old fashioned bitch of very correct type. 3 Holding's Kirktonhill Cara Alainn. OB (12) 1, CC & BOB, Hanna's Ir Ch Kinaelan FInlandia Gilla (AI) Ir JCh, Euro/Benelux Jun W16. A lovely class and some really good bitches present. Spoilt for choice! Winner I liked for her attitude, great temperament, super type and quality throughout. Moved with some grace and freedom, super proportions, my idea of an Irish SCWT. 2 & Res CC, Hanna's Ir/Dk/Sw/Nor/Nord/Ch Celtannia Extra Confident At Kinaelan. Excellent size, and so feminine too. Well put together and she has a most beautiful coat. Angulation of front and rear is excellent, and she has a topping head. Very close up to winner and easy to see why she is multi titled. 3 Munn's Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari JW ShCM. Judge Zena Thorn-Andrews |
