SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE WELSH KC 23
Being a proud Welshman I was honoured to judge this show, I was due to judge the breed at W.K.C. 2020 but the pandemic had other ideas.
Thank you to my well organised stewards, diolch yn fawr.
Unfortunately as the Royal Welsh was held later than usual our ring was down trodden by the cattle, therefore not all the ground was in the best condition. I thoroughly enjoyed the day assessing.
PUPPY DOG â 1 entry (ABS 1)
JUNIOR DOG â 1 entry (1,1)
1st Harrisâ s â Manawyddan Beautiful Noise
Very raw youngster who was difficult to assess but eventually moved OK both ways. Strong masculine head with good bite. Ring Craft Training should bring out the best in this boy.
PGD â no entries
Limit Dog â 2 entries (2,2)
1st Herbert & Herbert â Saffini Smooth Operator at Julibidd
Pleasing head, dark eye with good bite, strong neck into well placed shoulders, straight front, level topline held when then moving, good coat and colour. Smart presentation.
2nd Hookwayâ s â Denzilly Golden Compass
Good dog of type. Masculine head with dark eye, held topline. Balanced throughout, excellent coat of colour and texture, moved well.
Open Dog â 4 entries (4,4)
1st Clarke & Clarkeâ s â CH Flaxella Perfect Storm (Ai)
A dog I very much like and previously awarded him a R.C.C. He was unlucky to come up against an inform veteran today. Strong powerful upright stallion of a dog who hardly put a foot wrong. Super head and bite, coat of colour with spot on presentation. R.C.C.
2nd Satherley & Satherley â CH Silkcroft Game Changer
Another excellent exibit, smaller sized to first but has many attributes. Dark eye, good bite, masculine, moved well both ways, super presentation.
3rd Satherley & Sutherley â CH Silkcroft Shake It Off
Veteran Dog â 3 Entries (3,3)
1st Dowdy & Dowdyâ s â CH Greentree Gold Mombo to Denzilly (Imp USA)
Judged this dog shortly after the pandemic. He was out paced then but today he turned the tables. He was excellent in all aspects, compact, keen and alert. He moved effortlessly over a rather uneven terrain and showed his socks off. I felt privileged to see him take Veteran Group 1 on a flat surface where he excelled. C.C. VG1 & RV in show. Congratulations.
2nd Williams & Williams â Flaxella Living Legend to Gwendonydd
Masculine and upstanding. Shown in hard condition. Good front and rear Angulation, strong neck into level topline held on the move. Well presented and handled.
3rd Luiâ s Eblanahalls Aye Right.
Puppy Bitch â 6 Entries (6,6)
Lovely to see a ring full of animated young bitches.
1st Luiâ s â Eblanahalls Kiss Curl
Promising youngster of quality. I particularly liked her head with excellent bite, strong neck running into well laid shoulder placement. Held topline and tail set in profile and when moving showing herself to advantage put down to the minute. Well done B.P.
2nd Satherley & Satherleyâ s â Silkcroft Dance All Over Me (AI)
Close up and has all the essentials. More compact than first, of good size standing square, good reach of neck, level topline, moved well fore and aft, could swap place on another day.
3rd Molyneuxâ s â Eblanahalls Pixistix with Sweetfolly
Junior Bitch â 2 Entries (2,2)
1st Satherley & Satherley & Billingham â Silkcroft Fortune and Glory
As her name suggests could have a bright future ahead. Eye catching youngster with all the essentials. Feminine throughout, stylish head, dark eye with good bite. Perfectly balanced with strong neck into well laid shoulders, straight topline, lovely coat of colour and texture. Moved with purpose and drive, pushed hard for top honours.
2nd Grantâ s â Dannebriel Me and My Girl (Ai)
Feminine bitch with a lot to like. Nice head and expression with good bite. Level topline held in profile and when moving excellent tail set, very unlucky to come against the winner.
Post Grad Bitch â 3 Entries (3,3)
1st Tilleyâ s â Brynhir Born to Boogie at Starzak (JW)
Perfectly balanced with no exaggerations. Flat scull, dark eye and good bite, strong neck into level topline. Excellent tailset held when moving. Have seen this girl move better but just done enough to fend off second.
2nd Bradford & Hobson â Azydeco Abiqua Wild Dernier at Paradis (Imp USA)
All feminine throughout, with good head, dark eye and correct bite, enough neck into well laid shoulder placement. Liked her presentation, moved OK.
3rd Hammond & Evans â Calvenanace Ruby Tuesday
Limit Bitch â 5 Entries (JW)
1st Bradford & Hobson â Bonney Abiqua Wild Dessert Whispers (imp USA)
One Iâ ve judged before, my notes then were she needs to tighten up and on assessing her today, she has. Correct head/eye/bite. Straight front level topline, moved well both ways. As usual A1 presentation from this kennel.
2nd Luiâ s â Eblanahalls Gold Limerence (KW)
Similar comments and virtues as above. Feminine head, dark eye, good bite. Straight front, level topline, excellent tail set. Moved and handled well.
3rd Wrightâ s â Abbeymead Capelli Dâ Angelo
Open Bitch â 6 Entries (ABS 1)
1st Satherley & Satherleyâ s â CH Silkcroft Never Miss a Beat
4-year-old bitch shown in granite condition, so well muscled and perfectly balanced. Super headpiece enough neck running into well laid shoulders. Level topline with good tailset. Straight front, very strong quarters providing powerful rear movement. First class presentation, moved effortlessly to take B.C.C., B.O.B. and Terrier Group shortlist.
2nd Howes & Howes â CH Flaxella Flirtini at Daisymaes (JW) (Ai)
2 year old bitch and already a champion. Feminine well proportioned head with keen expression, correct bite, strong neck and well placed shoulders, level topline with good tailset. Moved effortlessly and handled well. RCC
3rd Satherley & Satherleyâ s - Silkcroft Wildest Dreams (JW)
Veteran Bitch â No Entries
