SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE WINDSOR 15

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge and to the exhibitors for providing me with a high quality entry. It was fortunate that the weather was not as hot as had originally been forecast and the majority of dogs were unaffected by the heat.

Veteran Dog/ Bitch (3)

1. Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione For Avard. One I have judged before as a youngster and a pleasure to judge her again now at 7.5 years. Correct mouth and head, good overall construction. Moved well. Just carrying a little too much weight. Best Veteran.

2. Munn’s Ch & Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly JW Sh.CM. Going strong at almost 12 years old. Good head, sound construction. Correct soft coat, loosely waved and good wheaten colour, presentation just a little too profuse. Unfortunately she was feeling the heat today and was a little sluggish which cost her a higher placing.

3. Charleton’s Snowmeadow Janeyjimjams With Showadiwadi.

Puppy Dog (1)

1. Ward’s Saffini For You To Love. Lovely 9 month old puppy. Pleasing head and mouth, still some maturing to do. Full of wheaten puppy charm but still well settled for his age, moved ok he just needs to tighten up at the front. Well handled.

Junior Dog (1)

1. Charleton’s Janeyjimjams Jonah. Promising 14 month old with bags of character. Very sound construction, good head, correct bite, ears well set, well balanced with level topline and tail well set. Moved well. Still has some maturing to do particularly in his coat but to be expected at this age.

Postgraduate Dog (1)

1. Bristow’s Denzilly Sweet Destiny For Avard. Correct mouth, superb pigmentation, especially his gums. Coat in good condition but would have preferred a bit more of it. Sound construction, well muscled. Movement difficult to assess as he was distracted by smells in the ring. Moved much better in the challenge.

Limit Dog (3,1)

1. Johnstone’s Whitevale Motorway Madness. Well presented with pleasing outline. Well proportioned head, correct mouth, good pigmentation and coat texture/ colour. Moved with purpose. Level topline, held on the move. Well muscled. Pleased to award him Reserve Best Dog.

2. Calvert and Naylor’s Amaricy Bullet Proof. Good head, correct mouth. Coat still needs to mature and clear. Moved ok, but heat seemed to be affecting him today.

Open Dog (1)

1. Fallon’s Ch Janeyjimjams Jenson JW Sh.CM. One I have judged before and he did not disappoint me today, such a pleasure to judge – this dog catches your eye from the off. Sound construction; good head, excellent reach of neck, level topline, well coupled with a good tailset. Well presented coat of correct texture and colour. He has a real ring presence, an excellent outline and moves with drive and purpose. A very worthy Best Dog & BOB.

Good Citizen Dog/ Bitch (1)

1 Busby’s Calvenace Killer Queen At Zakby. Compact bitch. Feminine head, correct bite. Well presented, loosely waved coat of good length and colour. Very well muscled, moved well.

Puppy Bitch (1)

1. Johnstone’s Loofahsa Fiamma Rouxboos. Lovely feminine puppy of 7 months. Pleasing coat for age in terms of colour and texture. Correct head and bite. Level topline, tail well set. Still has some growing to do. Moved well for her age. Well presented and handled. Pleasure to award her BPIB.

Junior Bitch (1)

1. Satherley’s Silkcroft Sky Full Of Stars Sh.CM. Lovely feminine 15 month old bitch. Correct head, sound construction. Moved with purpose; good reach at front and lots of drive behind, there was no stopping her even in the heat! One to watch for the future and I did consider her for Reserve Best Bitch; she just needs to finish maturing, especially in coat but that’s to be expected at this age.

Postgraduate Bitch (2)

1. Hill’s Janeyjimjams Jive Queen. A well presented, compact bitch. Pleasing coat, true in colour, I would just have liked to have seen a bit more of it with regards to length. Feminine head, correct bite, well laid shoulders and level topline. This bitch has lots of potential, would just have liked to see her carry her tail gaily on the move.

2. Wright’s Kariskiye Tip Top Too Ticky to Abbeymead. Well balanced bitch with sound construction. Feminine head with correct bite. Correct coat and colour. Level topline held on the move, tail well set. Moved well.

Limit Bitch (3)

1. Satherley’s Silkcroft Sky Full Of Stars Sh.CM.

2. Phillips and Gullick’s Jaeva Just Peachy. At 19 months old this bitch still has some maturing to do, in particular the coat still needs to mature and the wheaten colour needs to come through. Good size, correct mouth, sound overall construction and moved ok.

3. Busby’s Calvenace Minnie Ha-ha At Zakby

Open Bitch (3)

Quality class.

1. Satherley’s Ch Silkcroft Colour Of Magic Sh.CM. This 4 year old takes your eye as soon as she enters the ring. Well presented and well handled; her handler really gets the most out of her. Feminine head, correct mouth. Compact, with moderate neck, well laid shoulders and level topline. Well muscled. Moved very well, full of drive. You could see she was enjoying herself, she really showed her socks off. A pleasure to award her Best Bitch.

2. Charleton’s Janeyjimjams Jemima. Another quality exhibit. Well presented, correct coat/ colour. Sound construction; good sized head with well set ears, well sprung ribs, level topline held on the move and correct tail set. Moved very well. Very close between 1 & 2. Pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

3. Munn’s Snowmeadow Peggy Phurrari JW Sh.CM
