SOFT COATED WHEATEN JUDGE BORDER UNION 11

My thanks to the exhibitors who took my substitution for Mr. McKinnon in good spirit. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time to get into our ring and we didn=t quite manage to miss the rain. My critique notes towards the end got a little soggy which made deciphering them difficult, but I did my best. Surprised myself again!

Puppy Dog:(1)

1.Ross= Seamrog Best Of Me For Keridown, 11 month old carrying a lovely coat. Good head, big black nose. Good reach of neck. Deep chest. Well muscled. Was unsettled on the move. Up to size hope he doesn=t grow on. BP, won this on maturity.

Junior Dog:(4.2a)

.Pascoe=s Middlebury Shooting Star, lovely outline. Good head, large black nose, strong large teeth. Good in body with deep chest. Held level topline standing & on the move. Very well muscled. Good coat. Moved well enough. Happy chappy.

2.Wright=s Kariskiye Horrid Henry, lots to like about this boy, again good coat. Good head, medium ears. Dark pigmentation. Preferred size of 1st.

Novice Dog: No entries

Post Graduate Dog:(3.2a)

1.Johnson=s Garsayno Gold Freeman, lovely for size. Nice head with dark pigmentation & large teeth with correct bite. Good body, correct proportions. Can look stuffy in neck at times. Moved & handled well.

Limit Dog:(3)

Two very different types, 1st smaller than 2nd. Both had good heads, mouths & pigmentation.

1.Fletcher=s Keridown Shaken Not Stirred, had small ears (something we are missing in a lot of Wheatens now). Good proportions, lovely front, moved with purpose.

2.Carter=s Chloeanco Hunni Dream ShCM, larger boy. Good head, beautiful strong teeth, large black nose. Strong foreface. Again good body with straight front. Correct turn of stifle. His movement was erratic, perhaps a slower pace would suit him.

3.Hobson=s Abiqua Wild Knight Romance ShCM.

Open Dog:(5.2a)

Difficult decision in this class as again 1st & 2nd were different types.

1.Dunhill=s Ch.Fantasa Blonde Kaos, I have watched this boy numerous times in the ring & was surprised at what a lovely body he has under his flowing dark wheaten coat. Good head, not coarse. Neat ears. Good pigmentation, big black nose. Level Topline. Well balanced. As always handled to perfection.

2.Clarke=s Loofahsa Scaramouche, sure his time will come, still only a youngster, needs time to mature. Upstanding boy. Expressive, head, good teeth, large black nose. Good neck & shoulders. Deep chest, well coupled. Level topline. Very well muscled. Good topline held well on the move. Not as free moving as 1st.

3.Bristow=s Lilwaukee Leroy Brown for Avard.

Puppy Bitch:(2.1a)

1.Watkins= Zaraslake Seraphina, only 8 months old. Very loose on the move. Good shoulders & topline. Pretty head, good pigmentation, large teeth. Pale, immature coat at present. Looks promising.

Junior Bitch:(7.3a)

1.Barrett=s Saffini Truly Madly Deeply, another promising little bitch. Has a beautiful coat, deep colour for age. Well constructed. Pretty head, neat ears & big black nose. Good reach of neck, level topline. Will follow her progress with interest. Moved very well on loose lead, good tosee!!!

2.Hammond & Evans Calvenace Roogagh, larger bitch but still feminine. Not as mature as 1st, coat still pale but OK for age. Many of the above comments apply. Took longer to settle but when she did she moved well.

3.Niven=s Kirktonhill Come What May, 4.McFerran=s Kirktonhill Look No Further.

Novice Bitch:(1) 1.Kirktonhill Come What May, 3rd in Junior. Sweet face, medium ears. Good pigmentation. >Bum high= at present but still very immature.

Post Graduate Bitch:(3.1a)

1.Hammond & Evans Calvenace Toppa Totty (AI), good bone & construction. Feminine head, good foreface. Correct teeth. Decent neck going into well laid shoulders, straight front. Compact with level topline. Correct angulation, not over exaggerated. Moved well when settled. Coat of dark wheaten, could be a little softer.

2.McIntyre=s Keridown Thistle Be Good, this girl was not happy in the ring today. Didn=t want to move at all. ? in season. She doesn=t have the same strength of bone as 1st. Sweet face. Pale coat but lovely texture.

Limit Bitch:(7.2a)

1.Howe=s Daisymaes Arrabella, pushed hard for CC. Handled & moved very well, beautifully presented. Kept her topline. Feminine head, strong foreface, dark pigmentation. Straight front, correct construction. Deep chest. Slightly larger than 2nd but in no way is she coarse.

2.Watkins= Chloeanco Hunni Caress for Zaraslake, lovely little bitch, beautifully presented & handled. Again very feminine. Good enough in body. Coat a little harsh at moment but has time to mature. Moved slightly close behind.

3.Bristow=s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard,

4.Hammond & Evans= Calvenace Boodles,

5.Ewing=s Loofahsa Amareuse.

Open Bitch:(7.3a)

1.Morrey=s Tobamorrey Ain=t I Precious, unfortunately today this girl did not seem to have her usual sparkle, she didn=t move as she usually does. Lovely for size, pretty feminine head. Good neck & straight front. Neat body. Colour coming at withers.

2nd Dunhill=s Fantasa Blonde Krackers, presented & shown very well when standing, but seemed to be clipping her front feet on the move. Perhaps a slower pace may suit her. Large than 1st, but still very feminine, although at first glance her outline looked a little too sharp. Underneah her coat she has a good head & body.

3.Ewing=s Canicula The Elven Queen, 4.MacGregor=s Kirktonhill No Matter What ShCM.
