STAFFORDSHIRE BULL BELFAST 21 Judge(s): MRS JENNY SMITH My thanks to the Belfast DSS for the honour of judging SBTs at this well run show and to my steward, Fred Jones, for his able assistance. I was extremely pleased with the quality of my entry where exhibits in the majority were of the type I look for, being well balanced, in fit condition and without exaggeration. On a final note, my sincere thanks to all exhibitors who brought their dogs for my opinion; without you there would be no shows and your support means a lot. 1 Mawhinney’s Zolace Majic Jack. 10 months black/brindle. A top size puppy shown in fit condition. Head is strong and well defined with good depth of under jaw, correct dentition, dark eyes and neat enough ears. Front straight and of good width. He has the right amount of lift, presenting a balanced outline. Prefer slightly more bend of stifle and a little less of him all round at this stage of development. However I am sure he has a promising future. 2 Cherry’s Finnstaff Pistol Pete. Eleven and a half months. Attractive red with black mask and white chest. Head of correct proportions with dark eyes, neat ear carriage and correct mouth. Straight front, well boned, slightly less lift and stronger through than first. Good rear angulations, level topline, moved with drive. 3 White’s Tarbhgorm Bold Ruler. 1 McConnell’s Zolace God Of War. 10 months black/brindle. Brother of PD winner and a shade less of him but equally promising. He has a well proportioned head which is deep through and clean muzzled with a keen expression, good mouth and under jaw. Compact in body, level top line, standard height, sufficient lift, good bend of stifle and in fit condition. Moved well once settled. Best Puppy Dog. Congratulations. 2 Bradford’s Marquis Mack. 9 months blue/fawn and white. A boisterous puppy that was very difficult to assess (particularly in Puppy where he was Reserve). A big lad for his age who could be fitter. He has a well proportioned head, strong muzzle, mouth ok. Body balanced with level topline and correct rear quarters. 1 Heffernan’s Divastaffs Old School At Charbill. Fawn and white. He has a well defined head of good strength with a lovely expression, good width to muzzle, neat ears and correct dentition. Compact and balanced in body with level topline and shown in fit condition. Clean enough off shoulder line with straight well boned front, well angulated rear quarters and neat feet. Moved well. A very smart dog that I liked a lot. 2 Walker’s Georgie Poergie Pops At Teshleystaf. Red with white front. He has a clean head of good strength with black mask and super expression, good depth of under jaw, neat ears and dark, round eyes. Body in fit condition with good width to front. Moved well. Just preferred the overall balance and rear angulations of first. 3 Ferguson’s Farhan’s Trailblazer. 1 Page’s Assilio Lisbon Lion. Red/White and stand out winner who exhibited an excellent level of fitness/condition which is a credit to his owner. Head is well defined, of sufficient strength with clean muzzle and in proportion with body. He has neat ears, good eye shade and correct bite. Front is straight and well boned with the right amount of lift for good overall balance. Good front and rear angulations and level top line completed the picture. Moved effortlessly. This quality dog has the virtues I seek and is very much my type. Had no hesitation in awarding him the DCC & BOB. Congratulations and good luck for the future. 2 Cherry’s Brockmar I Am Titanium At Finnstaff. Black brindle/white front. Not quite the fitness of first but still shown in very good condition. Clean enough off the front; not quite the lift of first. Good width and bone, neat feet. Correct head proportions and a shade more strength of head than first. Good depth of under jaw, correct dentition, level topline. Well angulated rear quarters. Moved well. 3 Windsor Smith’s Magicgem Colossus At Remstaff (VHC in PGD). 1 Woods’ Ch/IrCh Bultery Rollen Thunder. Upstanding black/brindle that oozed ring presence. His head is strong and well defined with a clean muzzle housing correct dentition. He has a super, keen expression complemented by dark eyes and neat ears. Front of good width with nice amount of lift, clean enough shoulder line, neat feet and well up on pasterns. Good rear angulations, level top line, moved out well. He is a shade stronger all round than my ideal however I could not deny his overall qualities and was pleased to award him the RDCC – Congratulations. 2 Rhodes & Pritchard’s Ch Taraiel Reaper At Teracota. Black/brindle and white. Another top quality dog that is somewhat lighter than first. He is a nice style of dog with super clean front and right amount of lift. Body balanced, well defined and in good condition with correct angulations. He is strong in head and muzzle with the darkest of eyes and good mouth, although I preferred the expression of first. I would have liked to have seen him presented with more substance as his stripped down outline tended to make him look slightly ‘over headed’. 3 Corcoran’s Molru The Navigator. A trio of very promising youngsters. 1 Byrne’s Lackyle Realta Loiscneach NAF. 9 months black/brindle that is clean in outline and very well balanced. She has a lovely head and keen expression complemented by the darkest of eyes and neat enough ears. She has a good under jaw and clean muzzle, housing correct dentition and good angulations front and rear. Moved well. A very promising youngster – will watch her progress with interest. Delighted to award her BPB & BPOB. Also achieved Terrier Puppy Group 4. Well done. 2 Sinclair’s Peggillo Ledgend. Black/brindle. Slightly smaller than first and only just 6 months of age. She has lovely overall balance and clean lines with head in proportion with body. Slightly more width to front than first. Neat feet, straight well boned front, good rear angulations, moved well. Another quality puppy. 3 Blakely’s Tarbhgorm Song Bird RAF. 7 months. 1 Jenkins & Carson’s Seastaff Ocean Pearl RAF. Predominantly white of just 12 months. A very attractive youngster that has a well defined head, good strength of muzzle and is cleaner in lip than second. She has dark eyes and neat ears and is standard size with sufficient lift. Well balanced with a good topline and rear angulations. Moved well once settled. 2 Quigley’s Nerotoro Zucchero Filato. Brindle of fourteen and a half months. She has a lovely head and expression, dark eyes, neat ears and correct bite. Stronger through than 1 and shorter coupled. Unfortunately she would not stand properly and leaned heavily into her collar which made her difficult to assess. Movement was erratic. 1 McConnellogue’s Lonemoor Ceres. A very attractive black/brindle/white front. Head of good strength complemented by dark round eyes and tidy ear carriage. She has a clean shoulder line, straight front and is well enough off for bone. Neat feet, good balance and correct rear quarters. Moved well. Liked her. 2 White’s Tarbhgorm Havre De Grace. Black/brindle. Not quite as clean in the muzzle as first and slightly stronger through, however this is another very nice type of bitch. She has a great head and expression with dark eyes and neat ears. Correct front, balanced body, pleasing outline and in good condition. 3 Windsor Smith’s Magicgem Fire Star At Remstaff. 1 Raynsford & Stevens’ Raynstaff Black Beauty. A superb black/brindle that is clean as a whistle all round and in very good condition. Cleanest of muzzles, good under jaw, correct mouth, dark eyes, neat ear carriage. Straight front with sufficient bone. Good balance, light in loins, correct rear quarters. Coat in lovely bloom. Moved well to secure this placing. Featured strongly in the Challenge. 2 Ferguson (handling for Mr T Jardine) Farhan Night Fury. Another really nice black/brindle and a close decision. She has a lovely head and expression, dark eyes and correct mouth. Preferred her strength of muzzle to first, but let herself down on the move and not quite in the condition of first. However she is very much of the type I like and has the overall balance I look for. 3 Windsor Smith’s Magicgem Fire Star At Remstaff (3rd in PGB). 1 Raynsford & Stevens’ Raynstaff Dark And Stormy. Black/brindle with white blaze. She is well balanced, looks good from any angle and is not overdone in any way. She has an excellent head type which is well defined with good strength whilst retaining a lovely feminine expression. Neat ears, dark eyes and correct dentition complete the picture. Clean fronted with correct angulations, shown in fit condition with good tuck up. A lovely bitch that needless to say has all the virtues I look for. BCC – best of luck for the future. 2 McCarthy’s Lackyle Croi Lasartha Jun Ch. Another superb bitch of the highest quality. She is a shade bigger all round than first and shares many of the same virtues. She has the athleticism and clean lines I like and has plenty of lift giving great overall balance. She has a super clean head with the darkest of eyes giving piercing expression, clean muzzle and neat ears. Presented in fit condition with correct angulations. Pushed first hard. RBCC – congratulations. 3 Lowry’s Bultery Black Bliss.
