STAFFORDSHIRE BULL NATIONAL TERRIER 12 Judge(s) ALAN HEDGES(B) DCC CH TILLCARR RENEGADE FLAME (MRS JOHNSON & ANDREWS) Staffordshire Bull MPB (10,1) 1. Callastaff Madame George. Classy black brindle with a very clean and strong enough head, which has the right amount of definition. She has good bone and neat feet, her topline is good as is her backend. She moved OK, better behind than in front, although your eye is thrown a bit by the one white foot. She has a considerable amount of promise and if she fullfills it and once her handler gets on the case, she will win plenty. 2. Ashbull Omee. This a very different style of bitch. Nice stripey colour and with a bit of style. Not as much of her at the moment as the winner but if she grows on apace she also will do well. Clean, shapely head, good front, short back, level topline, good hindquarters and moved and handled well. 3. Scourgie Stolen Kisses. A promising Black brindle. She is big enough but has plenty of quality to carry it. She has a very nice head with a good expression. Good bone, front and feet. She needs and will settle a bit in the topline, and she has a decent backend. Very promising. 1. Waystaff Danish Delight. This is a very sound red. She has an excellent front, good feet, a level topline and a good backend. She moves very well both ways. She has an excellent expression and if her head catches up with her body she will be a good un. BPIB 2. Mishdar s Crowd Pleaser. This is a compact black brindle, who could not match the winner for movement. She has a stronger head, a clean muzzle and good bone. Her body is shapely, her hindquarters are on the money and she has a bright future. 3. Flintstaff Helena. This is proper stripey and typy. She is a lovely colour. She has a good head with a terrific chin, so good that I wondered if her mouth would be right, and it is, she has good bone and feet, a strong body, her hindquarters are good and she was well turned out. A very respectable bitch. JB (19,3) 1. Kyraloebis Sweetest Taboo. This is a very smart bitch. She is well turned out and shown well. Her head is OK, but she scores heavily from there back. She has good width to her front, her bone is enough, she has good feet, a level topline, she is well bodied, her hindquarters are good and she is given every chance. She could make it. 2. Tagstane Shing Star. This is a very different style of bitch, perhaps even a bit old fashioned. I liked her a lot and if her handler was as on the case as the winner, who knows, there is only so much a judge can do. She has a very clean head, her front is good when allowed to be, she has a good compact body and she moved OK. A fair bit of promise here that a bit of experience will bring to the fore. 3. Bultery Magic Moment. This bitch had the best head of the first three. Strong, clean and well defined, with an excellent expression, it is her major asset. She is stylish, with a good topline and general outline and her handler makes the most of her. 1. Araidh Thyme Bomb. This is a very good headed, sound moving bitch, and it was her movement that won her the class in the final analysis. Her head is clean and strong, I would prefer a darker eye and a neater but what s perfect? She has a strong blunt muzzle, distinct stop, and good underjaw. She has a good front, a level topline and good hindquarters. She was in the death and will in my view, make it, if given a fair run at it. Very good bitch. 2. Engladian My Obsession. Take the face off this one and put it on the winner and I will happily pay good money to buy the result. This bitch has the most beautiful face on her very nice head. The head has all the essentials. Her body has a bit of catching up to do and she needs to switch off the hoover on the move, but you couldn t rule her out as one who could mature into a proper good un and go all the way. 3. Tagstane Shining Star. See above. 1. Araidh Thyme Bomb. 2. Mishdar s Crowd Pleaser. 3. Flintstaff Helena. 1. Nettleworth Nitty Gritty. This bitch is very near the mark and well better than Graduate class quality in my view. She has a good head with a dark eye, it is clean and strong and has enough strength to her foreface. She has a good front and bone, her feet are OK, she has a decent topline on a good body, good hindquarters, moved OK and was in decent nick. 2. Cyberstaff Honeys Lil Gal at Budgestaff JW. A more upstanding sort of bitch who I liked a lot from the neck back. She has enough bone and a decent front. She has a good body on her with a defined waist. Her hindquarters are ok and her condition is credit to her owner. 3. Tagstane Fuchsia Struck. This is a strong brindle bitch who has a decent head and is well bodied. Did no put her best foot forward and was not helping her handler. 1. Oscellsies Toffee Truffle. This is a very sound red bitch. She has an attractive face with enough muzzle and skull with a dark eye and OK ears, she has a very good front and good feet. She has a very muscular neck. She has a level topline and well muscled hindquarters. I would prefer a shorter back. She moved the best at the end and that plus her excellent turnout and condition gave her the edge over one of my favourites. 2. Carfury Bal Maiden JW. One I like a lot, much more my preference for type and style, but that comes with an expectation of good condition and that was the defining factor here. She has a very good head, a compact well ribbed body and she moved OK. Once she is fully tuned up I expect her to win CC s. 3. Cannichbull Sweet Mystery. This is a good honest Black brindle who really is made the most of. This handler really does throw it all in and go for it, so well done to her. The bitch is good in all departments and is given every chance. Keep up the good work. 1. Dare To Dream. Now we are talking, the quality jumped up a bit in this class. This is a very classy bitch, who is turned out to the minute, so many could do better if the work was put in like it obviously is here. She has a beautiful head with a lovely expression. She has good bone and feet, a short back with a level topline and well enough sprung ribs. Her hindquarters are OK and she moves out well and with a bit of style. I preferred her head and shorter back to that of the second but preferred the seconds back end. CC & BOB 2. Devils Angel. A much improved bitch on my viewings from the ringside. Like the winner she was very well turned out and was given every chance. Her head is strong and clean but not particularly my cup of tea, but you need to recognise qualities in all types. However she does score heavily from the neck backwards. In good nick her body is strong and powerful, she has a very good topline and excellent hindquarters. She moved well and was not far away at the end. She will make it. 3. Ramblestaff Jorja On My Mind. This is the one I liked the best all day, but I cannot forgive not being in good enough condition. Had she been in the condition of 1 & 2 who knows, I can only suppose but for me she has tons of quality from nose to tail, but unless it is sorted out properly it won t be winning under me. Having said that I would have it in an instant and expect her to do very well when sorted. Top class bitch needing work and plenty of it. My comments are no reflection on one and two, but three made their job a lot easier. 1. Cursus Summer Storm JW. Another bitch who was turned out in the pink. Mostly liked her a lot from the ringside but she is one who s condition and presentation has gone up and down while presumably listening to all sorts of advise. She is now in the pink in proper good nick and maintained like this will be giving the others a hard time most weeks. She has a lovely head, a neat compact body and good hindquarters. She is shown well and was very close up to the winner. Lovely bitch, good luck with her. RCC. 2. Tiptoe Red Lady at Janikastco. In my view this bitch has thus far missed the boat. I have admired her for what seems like ages but she seems to onlyappear once in a blue moon. She has a good head, very good body, she moves well and is very easy on my eye. Give her a proper run at it and who knows. I like her a lot. 3. Kewaunee Pocahontas For Powerpack JW. Here we have the show persons nightmare. She is a real problem child. She really looks like she wants to be somewhere else. She has plenty of good bits, a good head, a compact body and can move well enough if she is in the mood. I kind of think she needs a good talking to, but I m guessing that won t work, so an alternative needs to be found or her chances will be gone. She has the quality to make it, but she needs to find the attitude to go with it. ALAN HEDGES Judge |
