STAFFORDSHIRE BULL NATIONAL TERRIER 17 Staffordshire Bull Terrier Judge: Mr P Stanway - Dogs - Mrs E Norton - Bitches BEST OF BREED : 1176 ROBB Mr R Caymenstaffs Blackthorn STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DOGS NATIONAL TERRIER 17 Staffordshire Bull Terriers DOGS – A real big thank you for the atmosphere today at the show, honestly I am absolutely chuffed with the quality in the Staffords I judged. Movement/toplines/expressions & bone were fantastic. In quite a few classes dogs went cardless, but still carried much of the virtues required. There were a few classes where cardless dogs could have made another winning line up without any further thoughts. The sporting exhibitors & ringside applause made judging a pleasure. Thanks also to my excellent steward Pam who assisted me throughout the day with no problems at all. Once again massive thanks to you all for making my day. MP (2) 1 Brady’s Calazde Black Hawk War, b/br with white with a very nice head shape for one so young, he also possesses a dark eye & correct bite. He has a level topline, well boned forequarters, correctly angulated hindquarters, correct tail carriage & excellent pigmentation. He also moved OK for one so young. Well done & good luck in the future; 2 Harrison & Roper’s Trawden Ice Rebel, r/w who has a lovely stance when stood but misbehaves a little when moved. Excellent head shape which is strong & still very clean with his dashing expression. Well boned & correct spring of rib for age. When settled further plus points will be highlighted. P (7) 1 Weiss’ Out Of The Dark Great’n Glory, b/br whose overall stance fits the Standard very well. He has an excellent head shape, correct bite with a wicked expression along with a very clean head in total, very good depth of underjaw & excellent pigmentation. He has well boned forequarters & a good topline, well sprung ribcage & excellent conformation of his hindquarters which ties in with his very good movement for a youngster. Handled extremely well. Will definitely mature into a consistent winner. BPD; 2 Shipp & Hammond’s Hammystaff Hanky Panky with Idyllicstaff, another promising exhibit. Deep red who possesses excellent pigmentation, along with his excellent head shape with perfect bite & correct expression. His topline, hind & forequarters all correct also. Overall stance is so foursquare for his age but he definitely has more to come regarding virtues. Moved very well. Close call between two quality exhibits. Another with a bright future; 3 T Ice Rebel. J (13) 1 Carter’s Stormshot Take A Bow at Seastaff, r/w who showed himself at all times. Although a little immature for this class at 12 months, he still carried the required virtues to take this class. Another with an excellent head shape, ear carriage, well pronounced cheek muscles & correct bite. He has well boned forequarters & correctly angulated hindquarters tying in with his level topline. I would have been a little worried if he had blended in well in this class at 12 months, so constructional points already mentioned won him this class; 2 Allsopp’s Rubericla Trailbreaker, b/br of Standard size who really shows himself off constantly. He has an excellent head shape, correct bite & an excellent expression. He also has correct forequarters, correct depth of brisket & a perfectly sprung ribcage which highlights his overall balance. He stands foursquare constantly & highlights his virtues very well. A little giddy on the move which separated 1 & 2. Well done; 3 Breckell’s Chiswellstaff Lets Dance, b/br, stronger than 1 & 2 but well balanced. He has a correct head shape highlighting strength, with an excellent expression. Very good make & shape when viewed from all angles. Moved OK. Y (18,2) 1 Robb’s Caymenstaffs Blackthorn, b/br who absolutely oozed expression & alertness. He has an excellent head shape overall with the neatest of ear carriage & perfect bite included. Correct well boned forequarters & the neatest of well padded feet. He has depth of brisket along with correct spring of ribcage & visible correctly muscled & well angulated hindquarters, which give you the reason for standing behind the dogs when judging to confirm all these Standard requirements exist. He stood foursquare at all times & constantly invited closer viewing. I then requested him to move in the route required, WOW he’s got it all, topline & movement with absolutely no hiccups at all, Handled with confidence which was highlighted constantly. Awarded the CC with no problem at all & richly deserved, more to come for sure for an exhibit with all these correct Standard requirements. BOB in agreement with my co-judge Elaine Norton & shortlisted for BIS. The very best of luck in the future; 2 Higham’s Callastaff Lakeland Lad, another virtue delivery regarding this lad. B/br of Standard size who provides all the Standard requirements. His head shape is excellent with well pronounced cheek muscles, correct bite, neat ear carriage & a cracking expression. He is well boned throughout with excellent pigmentation. He stands foursquare with his correct fore & rearquarters. Moved OK but was a little naughty when called back in for the challenge. Further wins on the cards for this boy; 3 Dumont’s Staffanatics Lethal Weapon, pied dog who possessed an excellent show attitude in this very strong class. Still a little immature but everything is in order to maintain his show career to a very high level. In such a large class his attitude stood him out. Top sized but still carried plenty of plus points to gain him the win. He has an excellent head shape with correct bite & expression. Correctly well boned forequarters & hindquarters with a very good topline. He also highlights his correctly sprung ribcage when viewed behind which gained him this win along with his very good movement; 2 Hopkins’ Trufflestaff Papinashuash, dark brindle lad. Another with plenty of plus points including head shape with correct bite & expression. He has well boned limbs & carries a good topline, along with these plus points he also moves quite well; 3 Warden’s Royal Red Thunder, red with a very good head shape, excellent expression & a bit of a character. Showed quite well. PG (20,1) 1 Martinez’s Bullbrothers Dr Who, b/br who has matured really well adding further plus points. He has an excellent head shape with well pronounced check muscles & correct bite. He was handled really well to highlight all his plus points which also include his bone, ribcage & rear angulation. He moves quite well & still maintains his level topline. He seems to be getting better & better. Well done; 3 Coleman’s Bullhawk Archie Bold, another cracker in excellent condition. B/br/w of Standard size with an excellent head shape & a cracking (pick me out) expression. Big plus on overall bone structure. Handled extremely well with such an alert exhibit, well done. L (21,3) 1 Riley’s Molru Nothing Else Matters, this was some class again. Expression along with strength in head & overall cleanliness throughout, excellent strength in muzzle & correct bite, strength in underjaw also which ties in with his cheek muscles to maintain that overall shape. Very well boned along with excellent feet. Correct depth of brisket & spring of rib which all ties through to his well muscled correct rear angulation. He moves with flow & a correct topline. Although he has that ‘what am I doing here’ output at times, all his plus points gained him the RCC today. I can’t believe this lad hasn’t gained any top awards earlier. Good luck; 2 Davies’ Ginstean Man Of God at Cwn Hardd, another cracking dog. B/br in excellent condition. Standard size with a cracking head along with his excellent expression, pigmentation, correct bite & well pronounced cheek muscles, everything seems to fit with this lad. Excellent bone structure, well padded feet which also highlight further his correct pigment, this all leads on to his correct body shape with shoulder placement correctly constructed.
