STAFFORDSHIRE BULL MANCHESTER 15 Judge: Helen Reaney BEST OF BREED : 1898 RYAN Mrs C & Mr E Rubericla Black Starscream DO YOU WISH THAT THE KENNEL CLUB WOULD PUT IT'S OWN HOUSE IN ORDER? STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE MANCHESTER 15 Staffordshire Bull Terriers I would like to thank the officers & committee for their kind invitation to judge at this show, many thanks go to my stewards, who did a good job. Overall I was pleased with the quality of exhibits, in the higher classes placing could have been reversed as some decisions came down ‘nit picking’ & in some of the larger classes I could have picked more than the required five placings. MPD (9,3a) 1 Sherwood & Jones’ Yiskstaff Dark Knight, promising b/br of nice size, well shaped head, neat ears, round dark eye, good strength to muzzle & underjaw, clean scissor bite, short coupled & level topline with good front & tail carriage; 2 Ritchie’s Northsaltire Nice One Same, another promising b/br with pleasing head, neat ears, & dark eye well shaped head & good depth of stop, clean scissor bite with strong underjaw, good front & moved well, just preferred the outline of 1st place today; 3 Dean’s Kylestaff Muddy Water. PD (12,2) 1 Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Busta Rhymes, b/br who caught my eye as soon as he walked into the ring, superb head shape & expression, dark round eye, with good depth of stop & width of muzzle & strong underjaw, clean scissor bite, straight front & depth of chest, level topline leading to well defined hindquarters & good tailset, shown in excellent condition & moved well. Thoroughly deserved BP today; 2 Thomas’ Cazomic Crime Fighter, another quality red puppy of good size for age, good sized head & width, distinct stop leading to good width of muzzle & strength of underjaw, clean scissor bite, neat ears & round eye. Straight front, well muscled hindquarters & shown in good condition, this puppy has quality; 3 Clough’s Derosalstaff Red Warrior. JD (10,2) 1 Hines’ Nettleworth No Way Ho Zay, just out of puppy this b/br dog I’ve watched with interest, has a superb well shaped head & ear carriage, with distinct stop & length & width of muzzle, strong underjaw, with clean scissor bite, straight front & good layback of shoulder, level topline & depth of ribs, moved well behind & forwards, shown in excellent condition & handled well; 2 Butler’s Ramblestaff Cos I Could, b/br dog with a well shaped head, neat ears, dark eye & clean scissor bite. Wide front, & deep brisket, level topline on the move & tailset; 3 Karlsson & Beaufoy’s Jewelstaff Rocker Billy Boy. YD (9,2) 1 Thomas’ Biggleswick Funky Devil, w/r dog with a beautiful head & body, shown in excellent condition, nothing is exaggerated with this dog, width of skull, neat ears, good depth of stop & length of muzzle & strength of underjaw, clean scissor bite. Beautiful front & lay back of shoulder with level topline on the move, well muscled hindquarters, moved freely, handled well & a credit to his owner; 2 Houghton’s Belterstaffs Ginger Joe, red dog with good head proportions, neat ears, good depth of stop, good width of muzzle, black mask, clean scissor bite, round eye, good front & hindquarters, another shown in excellent condition; 3 Davies’ Ginstean Man Of God. PGD (17,3) 1 Moureu-Larrang’s I’m Black King Du Clan’molotov, b/br dog with a super head shape, width of skull, neat ears, & dark round eye. Depth of stop leading to a strong broad muzzle & strong underjaw, super front & layback of shoulders, level topline on the move, well muscled rear & good tailset, moved with ease around the ring, showed himself well; 2 Davis’ Garforth King, b/br dog who I have liked for a while but came up against a good class today, another with a super head shape with neat ears, & dark round eyes, depth of stop, good width of muzzle to head ratio, strong underjaw & clean scissor bite, straight front & good length of back with level topline, this dog was shown in excellent condition today; 3 Johnson’s Jonajane Sussudio. LD (12,3) 1 Ryan’s Rubericla Black Starscream, b/br dog who I had given BP at Windsor & wasn’t disappointed today, he owned the ring, moved with purpose, a dog with a superb head & expression with good width of skull & muzzle, neat ears, & dark round eye. Clean scissor bite & strong underjaw, good front & layback of shoulder with well defined & muscled hindquarter, pleased to award him is 1st CC today & BOB; 2 Clarke & Traver’s Briganah Black Chieftain, b/br dog of excellent quality having strong powerful head, neat ears, distinct top leading to broad muzzle & strong underjaw, dark eye & clean scissor bite, straight front & good should placement, level topline & rear movement, showed well today but just preferred the outline of 1st place today; 3 Fulford’s Elitebull Heartbreaker for Regalbull. OD (10,2) 1 English’s Engstaff Hey Joe, mahogany brindle dog I’d judged before & placed 1st & was not disappointed today beautiful head shape with neat ears, round eyes, clean scissor bite, good width of muzzle to head ratio, a little taller than I would like but had a straight front, level topline on the move & shown in fit condition, happy to award him RCC today; 2 Beeby & Watson’s Geordiestaff Dynamo Dexter, b/br dog with good strong head, neat ears, dark eye & clean scissor bite, good depth of rib & straight powerful front, level topline & well muscled rearend. Shown in fit condition; 3 Kimber’s Kimstaff Harry Potter. MPB (17,2) 1 Davies’ Eclypstaff Sky Full Of Stars, b/br bitch with a strong feminine head with a lovely expression, neat ears, dark eye, good depth of stop & width of muzzle, clean scissor bite & good underjaw for age. Good front & level topline & good rear & tail carriage, nice to see a puppy not muscled up but having coverage, she was a little nervous today but certainly one to watch for in the future; 2 Plant’s Kyraloebis Kat Von Dee, b/br, another pretty bitch having many of the virtues of 1st place, & certainly a puppy to watch for in the future, but preferred the overall finish of my first place however on a different day the placings could be reversed; 3 Thomson’s Starolestaff Lady Bea with Siriustaff. PB (9,2) 1 Thomas’ Cwmcalon Lady Million for Gazstaff, b/br with a strong but feminine head & lovely expression, neat ears, good width of muzzle to skull ration, clean scissor bite & strong underjaw, straight front & good length of back to well defined hindquarters, tail carriage good, moved with purpose & handled well; 2 Harrison & Roper’s Trawden Ice And Spice, r/w bitch of equal quality to 1st place, again beautiful head & expression with dark eye & neat expression, good width of muzzle & underjaw, clean scissor bite, straight front & level topline on the move another who could easily have been placed 1st today but just preferred the outline on my 1st place today; 3 Varenne & Desmazes’ Pin Up Blackbull Diamonds. JB (17,5) 1 Duncan’s Nettleworth No Nonsense, b/br, litter sister to my junior dog class winner, this little girl has the makings of a champion with a super head shape & expression, neat ears & dark eye. Depth of stop & width of muzzle & strength of underjaw with a clean scissor bite, front & rear assembly excellent with depth of rib & level topline on the move, this little girl is well put together & balanced throughout, shown in excellent condition thoroughly deserved the RCC today; 2 Plant’s Bethaleese Black Bettina for Kyraloebis, b/br again having a lovely expression with strong but feminine head & neat ears, dark eye, good depth of stop & width of muzzle, clean scissor bite, straight front & layback of should, level topline & well defined rear & tail carriage. Moved well; 3 Elrick’s Ruadonia Delilah’s Delight. YB (10,2) 1 Bryan’s Felkirkstaff Galadriel, b/br again with a strong yet feminine head, lovely expression with good width of skull & muzzle, clean scissor bite & strong underjaw, neat ears & dark round eye, good front & rear assembly & level topline on the move; 2 Jenkins’ Belterstaffs Rock Steady, red bitch with a good head shaped, neat ears & round eye giving a lovely expression, good width & depth of muzzle to strong underjaw housing a clean scissor bite, preferred the movement on my 1st place but a little bitch to watch during 2015; 3 Kendall’s Biggleswick Diamond Lil. PGB (11,3) 1 Varenne & Desmazes’ Waywardstaff High Scary Cookie, b/br, a stunning little girl with a beautiful strong yet feminine head with neat ears, good depth of stop with dark round eyes. Strong muzzle & underjaw with a clean scissor bite, good front & rear assembly, with good depth of chest & layback of shoulder. Moved with drive & purpose. Shown in excellent condition; 2 Molineux’s Manark Summer Solstice at Druidhawk, b/br bitch with a lovely expression, not as strong in the head as my 1st place but balanced with width of muzzle & depth of stop, neat ears, round eye & clean scissor bite. Good front & depth of chest with level topline on the move, well defined hindquarters & tail carriage good. Handled well; 3 Marachowska & Marachowski’s Rubericla The Evil Inside at Passernomen. LB (18,2) 1 Nicholson’s Ballindona Caol Ila, mahogany brindle bitch who caught my eye as she walked into the ring, not as strong as some of my previous class placings but this little girl is balanced throughout. Super head shape with a feminine expression, neat ears & good depth of stop leading to good width of muzzle & underjaw, clean scissor bite. Straight front & depth of chest, layback of shoulder & level topline on the move, hindquarter well muscled. She moved around the ring with purpose; 2 Johnston & Brown’s Revelry Custom Made, b/br, another with beautiful head shape, strong but feminine, neat ears & dark round eye, good depth of stop & length of muzzle, clean scissor bite. Having good front & rear assembly, as many of the qualities of my 1st place but preferred the movement & overall package of my class winner; 3 Desmond’s Elitebull Elegance. OB (8) 1 Jackson’s Aus Ch Strongstorm Style Is Eternal at Jackabyte, b/br, I awarded this little girl a RCC last time I judged her & today I was pleased to award her 3rd CC today. Shown in excellent condition, this little girl is the whole package for me, strong yet feminine head, well placed neat ears, dark round eye with lovely expression, good width of muzzle & strength & width of underjaw, clean scissor bite, good front & rear assembly, good depth of chest & layback of shoulder, level topline & pump handle tail; 2 Stanway’s Mosstrooper Making Mischief at Waystaff, w/r bitch again of superb quality & shown in super condition, again a strong but feminine head with neat ears & dark round eye. Good depth of muzzle & width of underjaw, clean scissor bite, straight front & depth of rib, well muscled hindquarters & moved well; 3 Birbeck’s Ch Bellarouge Blithe Spirit. VB (2) 1 Hopkins’ Ch Trufflestaff Monifa Kanika, b/br, one of my favourites, another with the whole package, with equal bull & terrier, lovely head & expression, with neat ears & dark eye, good depth of stop & width of muzzle with scissor bite & strong underjaw. Straight front & depth of chest & good layback of shoulder, level topline on the move with strong powerful rear action, shown in excellent condition; 2 Fox’s Jolihem Fearless Joe, red 14 year old who could still strut her stuff, it was a pleasure to judge this little girl, although very grey, she still had a good head & lovely dark eyes, & all her teeth. She could be forgiven for not having the muscletone & movement of the younger dogs here today but she showed the true spirit of the breed, she moved around the ring with purpose, tail wagging with everyone around the ring clapping her as she went.
