STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE MIDLAND COUNTIES 11

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

I was very pleased with all my winners & especially those receiving the top awards. It was however disappointing to note the incidence of dentition problems in some exhibits in the MP classes & breeders need to monitor this.

MPD (6)

1 Fulford’s Staffstyle Burning Heat, skewbald of 8½ months, attractive puppy of standard size with good head development for age, having defined stop, good muzzle strength, dark eyes, neat ears & correct dentition, well handled, in fit condition & moved with confidence;

2 Hesford’s Noblestaff Voo Doo Storm, b/br of only 6 months & more my type but could not be adequately assessed either standing or on move, typical head & expression with good strength of muzzle, excellent dentition with big teeth, dark eyes & balanced in body with good rearquarters & sufficient upper arm, please take him to ring craft training; he is worth it;

3 Kendall’s Pitstar’s Prime Time.

PD (5)

1 Stanway’s Waystaff Strikes Out, predominantly white puppy of 11 months, super quality & very promising youngster who is destined for a bright future, head clean & well proportioned, correct mouth, darkest of eyes & neat enough ears, cleanest of fronts with desired ‘lift’ & well boned forequarters, balanced in body, short coupled with level topline & sound rearquarters, good movement. BP;

2 Fell & Smith’s Scratchline Zeus, br/w of 11 months & nice type of puppy, was fitter than 1 & slightly taller, head of good strength without excess flesh, dark eyes, neat ears & a strong muzzle housing big teeth, body well defined with sound rearquarters & short coupled but not quite the cleanliness of front of 1. Moved soundly;

3 Moore & Cullum’s Eclypstaff Rude Boy.

JD (7)

1 Boler’s Denagar Jack, red with black mask, close decision between these two very good dogs with different body styles, just preferred that of 1, together with his fitter condition, head of correct proportions with decent length of muzzle & neat enough ears, strong neck with correct reach, body well defined & of good balance with clean shoulder-line, well muscled hindquarters, well handled & moved with drive;

2 Cartwright’s Zakstaff Game On, b/br, eyecatching, good quality with well developed head with keen expression, defined stop, dark eyes, neat ears, good teeth & muzzle, clean enough off front & balanced in body, moved well;

3 Turner’s Quatros Neat & Tidy.

PGD (17)

1 Essex’s Javawolf Mighty Mouse, predominantly white presenting a super clean outline & exhibiting a fantastic level of fitness, which is a credit to owner, ears a little flighty but within the Standard, super head & expression with darkest of eyes, good depth of underjaw & clean, strong muzzle with correct dentition, good reach of neck, sufficient rib with good taper & well tucked-up in loins, moved soundly & with discernible drive;

2 Price’s Little Beau Geste, b/br with white front, very nice type who just lost out on fitness today. Body well balanced, clean front with sufficient length of upper arm, head of good proportions with correct eye placement, neat ears & strong muzzle;

3 Clement’s Sajojistaff Thunderstruck.

LD (20)

1 Enfield & Ingram’s Pitstar’s Romper Stomper, upstanding b/br who stood out in this class with his superior level of fitness/conditioning which is a credit to owner, well proportioned head with correct mouth & neat ears, body balanced & of correct proportions with well boned, straight front & nice amount of ‘lift’, stood foursquare with good length of rib & desired lightness in loins, moved soundly & expertly handled;

2 Coffey & Scanlan’s Aboriginal One And Only, typy b/br & slightly stronger than 1, very attractive with many positive virtues, super head & expression with defined stop, correct mouth, dark eyes & neat ears, body balanced, well proportioned & in good condition although not the conditioning of 1, to be critical would prefer a shade more upper arm;

3 Williams’ Hubbulls Nebraska.

OD (12)

The best dog class of the day as regards depth of quality & I liked all 5 dogs placed, in particular these three I believe to be excellent dogs & all were presented in super condition.

1 Powell’s Foxstaff Positive Magic at Cwmcalon, top quality b/br in very fit condition, excellent, well proportioned head in balance with body, neat ear carriage, clean muzzle, good strength of underjaw & correct mouth, body well defined with correct front & rear angulations, front straight with just the right amount of lift for balance, moved freely & effortlessly, overall a dog that was exactly what I wanted. CC, his third;

2 Scarlett’s Ch Ramblestaff Ebenezer Good, very nice b/br who is clean all round with superb head of correct proportions & without exaggeration, complemented by dark eyes & neat ears, not quite the lift of 1, but well balanced, in fit condition, moved very positively & gave 1 a run for his money, a worthy ch. RCC;

3 Streeter’s Vale of Bryn Rhys.

MPB (15)

1 Tibbetts & Smith’s Noblestaff Heaven Sent, brindle of just 6 months who performed well for handler, head of sufficient development for age with pleasing expression, correct bite, dark eyes & reasonable ear carriage, body well balanced with well angulated rearquarters, pleased to award BPB on superior handling & performance;

2 Desmond’s Elitebull Serenity, b/br, attractive head type of good proportions with dark, round eyes, correct ear carriage & bite, clean straight front, balanced in body with nice amount of lift, well angulated rearquarters, promising;

3 Small’s Ashstock Pasquefleur for Merimna.

PB (10)

1 Scott’s Spenstaff Vince’s Sweetheart, b/br, nice youngster of the make & shape I like, presented a clean outline when stood properly, head of good proportions with attractive expression, good length of muzzle, dark eyes & correct mouth, moved OK in class, however was not handled to advantage in the final line-up & therefore lost out in the challenge for BPB;

2 Harvey’s Kyraloebis Sweetest Taboo, fairly mature b/br of 9½ months, nice type but not quite as clean all round as 1 & a shade taller. Well balanced in body with level topline & sound rearquarters, lovely head of good strength with a keen expression & correct mouth, moved well;

3 Hart’s Albermarbull Fire ‘N’ Ice.

JB (15)

1 Dolphin’s Alport Black Ink at Delphinstaff, top quality b/br who I believe has a promising future, lovely head & expression, good muzzle strength, dark well placed eyes, neat ears & correct mouth, well proportioned body with level topline & in fit condition, clean, straight front with sufficient lift, moved soundly. RCC;

2 Coudriet & Portier’s Revelry French Connection, good quality b/br who is of the type I like, I just preferred the slightly cleaner outline of 1. Super head & expression with dark eyes, neat ears & clean enough off front, well balanced, in good condition & sound rearquarters;

3 Sem & Ullaflaen’s Celunas Do Whah Diddy.

PGB (16)

1 Clement’s Sajojistaff Skies On Fire, b/br with white front, took my eye straight away in this class, excellent head with lovely expression, dark eyes, neat ears & correct dentition, has strength without any hint of coarseness, well balanced with level topline, straight front & correct rearquarters, in fit condition & moved soundly. CC & BOB, I shall watch her progress with interest;

2 Scott’s Eva’s Little Zula at Spenstaff, athletic b/br who is slightly taller than 1, clean front, attractive head with dark eyes, ears OK, good length of muzzle, correct dentition & good underjaw, clean shoulder-line & well balanced, to be critical I would prefer her to be a shade fitter & is not as positive on the move as 1;

3 Minney’s Longdrive Ebony Girl.

LB (16)

1 Marshall’s Marstaff Diamond Cut, dark br/w front, very nice type with good strength of head & pleasing expression, dark eyes, good mouth, clean enough in muzzle, in good condition & well balanced with a level topline & sound rearquarters. Would prefer a shade more upper arm;

2 Land’s Bullhawk Moll Flanders at Winzack, b/br, has slightly more lift than 1 & is more my type, however overall outline would be improved by a greater level of fitness & this cost her the class. Lovely well proportioned head of good strength with super expression, dark, round eyes & neat ear carriage, clean enough off front with level topline & good rear angulation;

3 Tittley & Bosanko’s Garwstaff Miss Independant.

OB (14)

1 Morgan & Morgan-Pistor’s Ruby Duchess at Biggleswick, superb fawn with white front, handled to perfection, lovely head & expression, clean all round, well balanced with correct front & rear angulations, in fit condition & one of the best movers of the day, really liked her & it was an extremely tight decision for the top awards between just 3 bitches & she missed out by a whisker, thanks for the opportunity to assess her & good luck for the future;

2 Summerfield’s Ch Canakey Sweet Pea, r/w, stronger all round & did not quite have the cleanliness of front of 1, however top quality with excellent head & expression, well proportioned in body with level topline & in good condition, worthy champion I was pleased to have the opportunity to assess;

3 Turner’s Tidestaff Firecracker.
