STAFFORDSHIRE BULL RICHMOND 24 Judge: Mr Frank Kane STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE RICHMOND 24 Always a pleasure to judge the breed and I appreciated the good entry in both numbers and quality. We had a large ring, but the weather made it difficult for us all. However, I was pleased with the line ups for both CCs especially the bitches. I found only two questionable bites and movement was in most cases sound and quite coordinated. Whilst I appreciate the high standard of muscular condition which is the norm in the breed, I felt that a couple of exhibits including a youngster were over stripped and would have benefited from carrying a little more condition. Many thanks to my stewards Mitzi Morrison and David Levy. VD (2) 1 Rowe & South, Illori Akinlana JW ShCM VW. A 10-year-old dog in excellent condition. Clean lines with correct topline to gentle fall of croup. Carries his tail high. Scored in rear movement and topline to win a close decision in this class. Best Veteran and pleased to see him top the Terrier Veteran Group. 2 Dean & Dean, Kylestaff Muddy Water JW ShCM VW. A 10-year-old stronger dog with an excellent headpiece. His topline and movement could have been better today. Excellent chest, I liked his substance. MPD (1) 1 Funnell, Powerpack Jack In The Box. 6 months of good size and well-made throughout. He needs time to fill out in ribcage. Short coupled. Good rear, tail set and carriage. PD (3) 1 Moult & Moult, Kamaristaffs Royal Legend. A 6 months black brindle – I hope he has finished growing, but he is very well constructed and was the best mover in the class. He needs hardening off now, but he is short coupled, well boned and with a correct tail carriage.Excellent headpiece and very good proportions. At his first show I believe and he acquitted himself well. I hope his owners will make the most of him. Best Puppy. 2 Cushley, Bullbrothers Montecristo. 10 months red and white with a beautiful head. Excellent ears and a good eye. Good legs and feet. I preferred the topline and tail carriage of the winner. Still carrying his puppy coat. 3 Jackson, Jackabyte Redemption (ai). Gave his handler a hard time and therefore hard to assess him today. JD (6) 1 Moorcroft, Ellchansha Charm The Devil At Moorstar. A 14 months dark brindle. Close coupled, short backed with a beautiful head and round dark eyes .Excellent angulation and good rear giving him the best movement in the class. Very promising. 2 Deen, Ellchansha The Devil In Me At Tondoo. 14 months, litter brother to the above and very similar, but I preferred the forehand and front action of the winner. Excellent head, but not quite the depth of muzzle of the winner. 3 Davies, Hasburystaff Top Gun. YD (3) 1 Johnson, Tillcarr Fire Soldier JW. 18 months. I liked his proportions and outline, and he had a little more finish of chest than the second. Strong, deep head with good underjaw, but his muzzle is a little short for my taste. Good movement and correct tail and carriage. 2 Green, Sikaistaff Black Barrel At Cocostaff JW. 22 months, I preferred his muzzle length to the winner’s. He has a good eye and a strong, deep head. Not the finish of chest and rib of the winner and he can settle with his tail carriage – but can do well when he develops in middle-piece. Full of breed type. 3 Bennett & Bennett, Powerpack Singularity. ND (5,1) 1 Moult & Moult, Kamaristaffs Royal Legend. Repeat: Puppy Dog Winner. 2 Funnell, Powerpack Jack In The Box. Repeat: Minor Puppy Dog Winner. 3 Sandford & Sandford, Jodel’s Knights White Satin At Lornicstaff. GD (1) 1 Mills, Stormbreakers Vengeance At Milarke Bull. 14 months red dog. A little long for balance and could be shorter coupled. Good head type with excellent dentition. His ears could be neater. Needs to fill out in chest and tighten up on the move. PGD (7,1) 1 Yates, Zakdan Devious Devil JW. 3 years old brindle – won on his balance and finish of chest. Excellent angulation and very good front action. He can be a little cleaner in his rear action Strong, deep head, eyes could be a little larger. In excellent condition. 2 Tomkins & Tomkins, Pasgal Reach Out And Touch. 3 years old, a very good mover at both ends and I liked his head, muzzle and fine lips. I preferred the leg length and balance of the winner. Not as finished in rib and chest as the winner. 3 Gardner, Labrastaf Espresso. LD (7,2) 1 Wilson, Northstaff Nightmare JW. 2 years old. Compact, well ribbed with strong head and good depth of muzzle Moved well at both ends. Scored in chest and head qualities. 2 Stillman & Gray, Sikaistaff Shadow Warrior At Maidendale. 5 years old, smaller dog who is well balanced, but I would prefer him to be a touch more masculine. Moved very well. Scored in eye and finish of rib over the third. 3 Jefferson, Alport Bold Ruler. OD (8) Super class with great depth of quality, made this a pleasure to judge. 1 Sheldon, Ch Kamaristaffs Royal Ransom At Bowtman JW. 2 years old – he has great breed type all through and is very good on the move. Deep, strong head with round, dark eyes. Good depth of muzzle Excellent chest and rib. In hard muscular condition and a lovely coat. Dog CC and Best of Breed, Terrier Group 4th. 2 Ibsen, DK Ch Keepastaff Little Benz 3-year-old brindle/white, hard and athletic, in superb condition and a great mover. Excellent head properties. Short coupled. Very good bone. Tail a touch thin, but I liked him enormously and pressed the winner all the way. Res Dog CC. 3 Hinsley & Hinsley, Ch Earthquake Staffs Wear It Well At Tigerbull (Imp Esp). SBD (4) 1 Cokell, Crying Lightning Mark With Carlyquinn. 20 months old pied. Scored in chest and balance to win this class. Strong head, but his ears are heavy and lips are a little heavy too. Can fill out in front movement. 2 Blagg & Whitehead, Keep It Lowkee At Pindbystaf. 18 months red. I preferred his head to the winner as he has finer lips and better ears, but he is a little leggier and needs to develop in front. 3 Mills, Stormbreakers Vengeance At Milarke Bull. VB (4) 1 Ashburner, Jodanzac Joyful Event. 10 years od brindle in remarkable condition and still very sound Scored in head and proportions and femininity here. 2 Walker & Walker, Delicious Daydreamer At Teshleystaf. 8 year old brindle of heavier type Sound and carried herself well, I preferred the head of the winner. 3 Gardner, Ballindona Fab’u’luss For Labrastaf. MPB (4,1) 1 Grant, Bethaleese Forever Charmed. 6 months brindle, scoring in proportions and balance to win this class. Strong, deep skull. Good dentition. Muzzle is a touch short for my taste. Very good mover holding her topline. 2 Barrett & Barrett, Sikaistaff Miss Dynamite. 7 months with excellent head, bone and chest. At the moment looks long and will look more balanced when she develops in ribcage. Moved very well and she should finish well. 3 Funnell, Powerpack Euphoria. PB (3) 1 Yates, Keepastaff Lock And Load At Zakdan (Imp Dnk). 9 months, strongly made, but still feminine and has excellent proportions Very good ribcage and scored in quarters. Strong head, I would prefer darker eyes. 2 Heron, Dilirystaff Fangtastic. 10 months, smaller bitch who scored in eye over the winner, but not the upper arm. Very good chest. Moved well. I would prefer little more leg to balance her. 3 Hopkins & Hopkins, Trufflestaff Nyekundu Itri. JB (8,2) 1 Seymour, Dekayro The Ice Queen. 14 months, won this on her balance and proportions. She went soundly, but she could have carried herself better. I like her head proportions with clean lips and round dark eyes. 2 Winrow & Greaves, Jayneze Miss Attitude. 17 months. I liked her head shape and forehand and she moved well. I preferred the topline and wider under-jaw of the winner. 3 Liggins & Liggins & Curd, Ellchansha Under Your Spell At Knockon. YB (7,1) 1 Bennett & Bennett, Scipelei Against All Odds. 22 months. Standing she is a beautiful type and balance with an excellent head. She needs to fill out in front as this shows in her front movement. 2 Ibsen, Keepastaff The Sky Keeper. 23 months, heavier build with a strong head and good muzzle. Eyes could be darker. She needs more rear angulation. Won this place on front and topline over the third. 3 Stanway, Northpoints Dressed For Success At Waystaff (Imp Nld) NB (5) 1 Hopkins & Hopkins, Trufflestaff Nyekundu Itri. 10 months old red who won this class on her balance and head. She can firm up in topline and front action. 2 Moldovan, Ayledastaff Forgive Me Not. 2 years old brindle. Strongly made. A little short on the leg for balance. Good rear action. Can be cleaner in front. Good skull. Eyes could be a shade darker. I preferred the finer lips of the winner. 3 Funnell, Powerpack Euphoria. GB (9) 1 Winrow & Greaves, Jayneze Ramona. 17 months. She has lovely type, but her handler needs to relax to make the most of her. Very good body, chest, rib and movement. I would prefer a little more head to balance her size, but it is deep, and she has a strong muzzle. Scored in rib and coupling here. 2 Funnell, Powerpack Fleur Delacour. 2 years, won this place on her movement and topline. She has a very good head and eye and moves well. She needs to fill out in body now and couldn’t match the winner in ribs and chest. 3 Bainborough, Vadeliza Box Of Trix. PGB (8) A good class 1 Rowe & South, Illori Constellation JW Res Bitch CC. 3 years brindle. I loved her balance, head and dark eye, also her hard muscular condition and superb coat. Just a touch loose in elbow, but her movement at both ends is excellent; she is full of quality and type. In the challenge scored in finish of body to win the res CC. 2 Sandford & Sandford, Fairlenium Iron Queen At Lornicstaff. 3 years pied, a lovely headed bitch who moves very well . Good chest and ribcage extending well back. Not the rear angulation of the winner, but I liked her a lot. Shown in hard, pristine condition. 3 Maskell, Dekayro She’s Like The Wind. LB (5) 1 Lloyd-Williams & Lloyd-Williams, Cwmhaf Cariad. 2 years old, loved her type, proportions and head .Has a good chest, but her front action could be better. Short coupled and full of quality. 2 Heron, Manark Patience At Dilirystaff. 3 years. Same type and size, but a little longer cast and not as firm in quarters. 3 Coble & Coble, Indianstaff Up Where We Belong At Surestaff (Imp B). OB (6,2) Super class, all four present had great type and quality. 1 Shipp, Ch Delacour Sweetest Taboo For Idyllicstaff JW Bitch CC. 2 years pied. A real powerhouse on the move and I loved her proportions and balance. Scored in her rib to take this place . Full of type in head. Eyes could be a shade darker. but she has strength in head and muzzle. Great mover at both ends. 2 Crawford & Wilson, Ch Northstaff Bay Bomber For Crowstaff JW. 2 years old brindle – beautiful headed bitch with very good outline. I loved her type and quality and she moved very well. She is not yet fully mature in chest and body, and I feel that another 6 months will see her looking even better. In the challenge I felt that the post graduate bitch had the edge in substance and that decided the issue, but I think she has a great future ahead. 3 Plumstead & Plumstead, Kamaristaffs Royal Gem At Jazostaff JW. SBB (5) 1 Gardner, Blossom Queen Bee For Labrastaf, Best Special Beginner. Dark brindle, a great show girl with her young handler who made the best of her. Full of type and went very soundly. Looked very good in the group ring later. 2 Turner, On The Hill Two At Tidestaff. A mature brindle and white who has quality, but not the carriage of the winner today. Apologies, but the rest of my critique is illegible because of the rain. 3 Gonzalez & Hirst, Dringshaw Sugar Moon Frank Kane |
