Fronts were in quite a few cases the deciding factor of my placing, short-legged terriers can be bred with the correct front construction, breeders need to breed for it! Though I have never owned the breed I have experience with it through the ‘Pillerton’ kennels who I often visited when I worked in kennels nearby. VD (1) 1 Fosters Ch Hillsted Masquerade at Thozow. Nice looking male with a balanced outline. He has a nice head, good stop & dark eye. Good length of neck, clean in shoulder & good front. Well made body with the right amount of covering, good depth & width. Good hindquarters, level in back & correct tailset. In a nice harsh coat, moved & showed well. RCC & BV. Pleased to hear he took 3rd in the Veteran Group. JD (1) 1 Burns Burneze Here Comes Trouble. Happy youngster who was enjoying himself. I liked his balanced shape. He has a very nice head, neat well placed ears, nice eye & plenty of furnishings. Good in neck, straight front, nicely made body with depth of chest. Pleasing hindquarters, correct tailset & carriage. Moves very well both ways, in a well prepared harsh coat. I felt he was a little immature when it came to the dog challenge, he has plenty of time. PGD (2) 1 Fox’s Hilsted Same Difference. This boy has a nicely balanced shape, level back with a good tailset. Pleasing head shape, good expression, good in neck & shoulder. Straight in front, but needs to tighten in movement. Mature well made body, correct length with well made strong hindquarters. In a nice harsh coat, moves out well behind. 2 Zhukov’s Ashgate Afric. Not as mature in outlook as 1. Good head shape with small well placed ears. Good neck & shoulders, compact body. Needs his outline to be cleaner, topline rather uneven. In a nice coat & moves well. LD (3) 1 Squire’s Bellevue Double Shuffle. This boy has a lovely masculine head, good stop & well placed ears. Good neck & shoulder, front ok but would liked his movement to be more positive. Mature body, good depth & well muscled hindquarters, really moves out well behind. Good tailset & carriage, really harsh jacket on him. 2 Foster’s Thozow Master of the House. Similar in many ways to 1, nice short back & overall shape, level back. He has a nice head piece, well made body with good ribs. In a good coat & condition, would have liked more positive movement both ways. 3 Newcomb’s Comdale For Your Eyes Only. OD (2) 1 Zaccariello’s Ch & It. Ch Violent Warrior Vertragus. I liked this dogs outline & balance, looks masculine throughout. He has a good head, correctly placed ears, good eye shape & colour, well filled muzzle & large teeth. Good length of neck, clean angulated shoulders with a straight front. He has a well made body that has good depth, short in back though this does not impede his movement. Strongly made hindquarters, correct tailset. In a nicely prepared coat, moving steadily both ways, showed well. CC. 2 Gale’s Bellevue Street Trader. Alert boy right on his toes. He has a very nice masculine head, well placed ears, dark eyes. Good reach of neck, clean in shoulder. Well made body, muscular hindquarters which he knows how to use. He was carrying his tail too ‘gay’ for me which spoilt his outline & balance. In a good quality coat. PB (2) 1 Burn’s Burneze Hello Dolly. Lovely shaped youngster who has a lot confidence, happy temperament. Nice feminine head, neat in ear, good eye & good mouth. Good neck & shoulders, straight front, well made body. Nice turn of stifle, correct tailset. In a well presented quality coat, smart lively mover, showed all out. BP. Pleased to hear she took PG1. 2 Chambers Circinus Dare To Dream. Another nice youngster. She also has a nice balanced shape. Nice head & expression, good in neck, clean angulated shoulders & straight front. Nicely made body, nice turn of stifle with a correct tailset. In a nice coat. Just seemed a little restricted in her movement today. JB (1) 1 Griffiths Holiday Romance Vixen at Karamynd. Nice young bitch with good balance. She has a nice head, but still needs to finish. Good length of neck, straight in front. Short in body, level back, good spring of rib. Well made hindquarters, moves really well behind, would have liked more positive front action. In a good coat & showed well. YB (2) 1 Noyce’s Maxula Vanilla Ice Cream. Nicely shaped youngster, good head & feminine expression. Good length of neck, well angulated shoulders with a good front. Nicely made body with good depth, short backed. Good turn of stifle, correct tailset & carriage. In a nicely prepared quality coat, moves well both ways. 2 Gallop’s Lynnsto Elektra. Good in outline, pleasing head & expression. Good length of neck, good in shoulder with a straight front. Well made body, level back with a correct tailset. Moves nicely both ways. She has a good quality coat but requires better presentation. PGB (2) 1 Foster’s Thozow I’d Do Anything. Nice type but tend to lose her shape on the move, but looks balanced when stacked. Nice head with plenty of furnishings, dark eye with a nicely filled muzzle. Nicely made body but carrying a little too much weight. Correct tailset, quality coat that was well prepared. Moved & showed steadily. 2 Bryant’s Camame Summer Maiden. I liked her overall shape & clean outline. Nice head but needs better preparation to show it off better. Good length of neck, could be more positive in front. Well made body, good hindquarters which she uses well, correct in tailset. In nice coat. LB (1) 1 Gale’s Bellevue Nuts ‘n Bolts. Nicely shaped girl with a good head & expression. Good reach of neck, clean angulated shoulders, nicely made front. Mature well made body, good depth of chest, level in back. Well made hindquarters with a correct tailset, she is a lively sound mover. Unfortunately she was in her underclothes today, but nothing to hide. OB (4) 1 Burn’s Ch Burneze All In One. Recently judged her and gave her group 2. My opinion hasn’t changed, you get it ‘all in one’ package. Lovely balanced shape, totally feminine throughout. Lovely head, good neck shoulders & front. Mature in body. Well made hindquarters, correct tailset & carries it well. She is a lively sound mover, shows none stop. In a well presented harsh coat. CC & BOB. Shortlisted in the group. 2 Fox’s Hillsted Sweet Whisper. This girl has a very nice feminine balanced shape. She has a very nice head, well furnished with an alert expression. Good neck & front, mature well made body. Nicely shaped hindquarters, good tailset. In good coat & condition, moved nicely both ways. Since I last judged the breed I noted that mouths had deteriorated, small teeth and questionable bites. Fronts were in quite a few cases the deciding factor of my placing, short-legged terriers can be bred with the correct front construction, breeders need to breed for it! Though I have never owned the breed I have experience with it through the ‘Pillerton’ kennels who I often visited when I worked in kennels nearby.

1 Fosters Ch Hillsted Masquerade at Thozow. Nice looking male with a balanced outline. He has a nice head, good stop & dark eye. Good length of neck, clean in shoulder & good front. Well made body with the right amount of covering, good depth & width. Good hindquarters, level in back & correct tailset. In a nice harsh coat, moved & showed well. RCC & BV. Pleased to hear he took 3rd in the Veteran Group.

JD (1)

1 Burns Burneze Here Comes Trouble. Happy youngster who was enjoying himself. I liked his balanced shape. He has a very nice head, neat well placed ears, nice eye & plenty of furnishings. Good in neck, straight front, nicely made body with depth of chest. Pleasing hindquarters, correct tailset & carriage. Moves very well both ways, in a well prepared harsh coat. I felt he was a little immature when it came to the dog challenge, he has plenty of time.

1 Fox’s Hilsted Same Difference. This boy has a nicely balanced shape, level back with a good tailset. Pleasing head shape, good expression, good in neck & shoulder. Straight in front, but needs to tighten in movement. Mature well made body, correct length with well made strong hindquarters. In a nice harsh coat, moves out well behind.
