WEST HIGHLAND WHITE JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 15
My first appointment awarding CC’s, thank you to those exhibitors who did enter under me. Some classes took some real sorting with strong competition for the high places. One observation I have was apparent in some exhibits. An uncharacteristic top line with a dip midway along the back and then a rise over the loin. This in some cases is cleverly disguised with grooming and stacking but there can be no disguise for such a fault when the dog is asked to move. This is a fault in terms of construction but also spoils the outline when on the move.

This bitch caught my eye on entering the ring. She is of the correct type and on handling she does not disappoint. Excellent head, short muzzle with defined stop. She has that keen expression which is so correct for the breed. Ears well placed, correct pigment & good bite. Excels in front assembly, and layback of shoulder into level top line. Good depth of rib and short coupled in loin. In great condition, not overdone. Tail well set, good bend of stifle and well angulated with plenty of muscle in her rear. On the move she excels further, such a free mover with great reach as she covers the ground effortlessly. Holding her top line and head carriage throughout. In a strong bitch challenge she could not be denied. CC & BOB, her second I understand, I am sure her crown is not far away in this form.

A bitch who I have judged as a youngster and admired ever since. She requires no introduction and is well worthy of her many wins to date. In excellent condition, keen expression with a defined stop. Straight front, she has plenty of bone whilst remaining totally feminine. Excellent layback of shoulder into level top line. Short coupled, tail well set. Well muscled rear quarters. Moving out she is so free and parallel whilst holding her outline and head carriage. In the challenge she was flagging a little but I put this down to the heat.

Another lovely bitch. Excellent head with a short muzzle and defined stop. Correct bite. Straight front, well placed shoulder into level top line. Tail well set and carried on top. She covers the ground well. In A1 condition, preferred the rear action of 1.
