FOX WIRE JUDGE BATH 18

It was a pleasure to judge at Bath Championship Show which is one of my favourites. Sadly the wet weather meant that there was only a small inside ring to use which was not ideal when assessing movement. In general quality was good with winners outstanding. Front movement needs watching as a number were paddling in front. Coats in general were excellent with good preparation. I found no bad mouths with full dentition and correct scissor bites as I would expect. My concern is the lack of entries and where the next generation of exhibitors will be found. There are few youngsters coming into our ranks. Let’s hope that this will change before the breed becomes a rarity.

PD (1,0):

1. Hampton & Wynter’s Robelroy Many Dreams at Furlongfox. Nice youngster of good breed type. Good head with correct expression. Ears need to settle. In good coat & condition. Well prepared. Needs to strengthen in front, otherwise moved OK. Well handled.

JD (No entries)

PGD (2,0):

1. Adshead’s Shoalhill To Hot To Handle. A dog with an excellent coat. Nice type with a good head & expression. Neat ears, moved OK.

2. Williams’ Alkinra Wizard. A little longer cast than winner. Again a decent coat & well presented. A bit plain in head. Fair movement.

LD (3,1):

1. Dipple’s Marvidyne Follow The Trend. Nice type of dog with a lovely head and expression. A little long cast. In excellent coat & condition as one would expect from this exhibitor. Could be more positive in rear movement.

2. Alkinra Wizard.

OD (3,1):

1. Malzoni’s Ch/Am Ch Hampton Courts Monte Cristo. This dog has to be gone over to appreciate his many virtues. Starting with his head which is quite outstanding with a lovely dark varminty expression. Good ears, correct strength of muzzle. Long neck into well placed shoulders. Nice body shape, tail on top. Good legs with ample bone. Excellent coat and condition, beautifully presented. Moved well both fore & aft. CC & BOB and pleased to see him win Group 3..

2. Schoneberg’s Goldwing vd Schonen Bergen. Another nice dog in great bloom. Excels coat and well presented. Decent head, eye & ears. Nice in neck & shoulders. Short coupled, good legs & bone. Moved OK. Res CC.

VD or B (No entries)

SBD/B (1,0):

1. Hampton & Wynter’s Jean de Cresecques avec Furlongfox (Imp) SHCM. 3 year old bitch of good breed type. Fair head with nice eye & ears. Good expression. Nice coat & condition. Well presented. Moved well for her young handler. Delighted to see her then win the Young KC Members stakes & then the Special Beginners Group. Well done.

PB ((2,0):

1. Ebdon’s Stunning Luxe J’Aime La Vie avec Flashblack. Outstanding young lady with great style & showmanship. Excels head with correct expression. Neat ears. Good neck with well-placed shoulders. Short coupled with tail on top. Moved well. Good coat quality but requires more finishing. BP & delighted to see her win Puppy Group

2.Rogers’ Laketrix Set Course oy Ynsstaff. Younger bitch needing time. Nice body shape. Fair coat & presentation. Not the head of winner & a little loose in front.

JB (No entries)

PGB (3,0):

1. Nixon’s Willowyre Whyte Magic. Lovely young bitch with quality head & expression. Neat ears, good neck & shoulders. Nice legs with good bone. Good body shape, tail on top. Excels coat & extremely well presented as expected from this exhibitor. Moved well. Delighted to award her Res CC.

2. Bradley’s Aman Beau. Another nice bitch with good head & expression. Did not used her ears to advantage. A little longer cast than winner. Good coat & well presented. Moved OK. 3. Jean De Cresexques avec Furlongfox.

LB (2,1):

1. Dipple’s Marvidyne Midnight Moon. Quality bitch with nice head & expression. Neat ears. Good neck into well placed shoulders. In good coat, well presented. Moved OK, however a little lethargic today.

OB (5,10:

1. Westwood & Wiggins’ Ch Nethertonion Chandalier. Quality bitch who is very short coupled & picture book marked. Nice head & expression. Good neck & Shoulders. Tail on top. Once settled she moved well & deservedly won the CC.

2. Malzoni & Bradley’s Aman Crimson Empress. Ginger bitch of quality with nice hear, eye & ears. Good body shape. Showed well. In good coat & condition. Well presented. Moved OK.

3. Lilley’s Wyregait Cider with Rosie.
