FOX WIRE BELFAST 14 Judge(s): DR RUTH BARBOUR Wire Fox Terriers Not a numerically strong entry but containing some excellent quality. The two CC winners were truly outstanding. At the other extreme two exhibits displayed problematic temperament on the table –highly unusual happening in this breed. PD & JD (0). PGD (2,1a) 1 Magill’s Gambrae Atlantic, powerfully built dog with plenty of bone. Good body with good spring of rib. Well presented. Could perhaps have been more settled in hind movement in class, but was better in the challenge. RCC. LD (2,1) 1 Coutts’ Brocolitia Talk O The North, typical in outline. Alert expression. Good harsh coat. Sound mover. OD (2) 1 Malzoni’s Ch Travella Striking Steel, exceptional, very masculine dog displaying a commanding presence. Beautiful head, eye & ear carriage giving a wonderful expression. Level topline. Very long second thigh with low set hocks. Moves with exceptional drive behind & covers the ground well. Very well presented. CC. PB (1) 1 Nicholls’ Staremesto Scarlett, lovely youngster. Particularly attractive head & eye. BP. JB (2) 1 Schoneberg’s Nethertonion Pendant, lively bitch with attractive long head & expression. Short coupled; 2 Caulfield’s Nethertonion Songbird, soundly built. Good bone. Not as alert as winner. LB (2) 1 Schoneberg’s Heart Beat at Nethertonion, well proportioned bitch with substance & good bone. Moved better in front than behind. RCC. OB (5,2) 1 O’Donoghue’s Ir Ch Blackdale Julie, caught my eye as she came into the ring. Lovely head & eye with small ears. Very balanced outline with lovely neck merging into well laid shoulders. Short coupled. Strong well muscled hindquarters. Excellent hind angulation. Enough length of second thigh. Low set hocks. True mover. Very well presented. Very reminiscent of her famous mother, Carousel, in her overall outline, femininity, lack of exaggeration & excellent movement. CC & BOB; 2 Moore’s Cillcarraig Boston Rose, sound type of bitch. Not the overall star quality of the winner; 3 Schoneberg’s Leonie V D Schonen Bergen. RUTH BARBOUR |
