FOX WIRE JUDGE BORDER UNION 14

Wire Fox Terriers

My thanks to the committee of Border Union for their invitation & wonderful hospitality.

Numbers are never great at this lovely show for this breed but make up for this with the quality of the dogs & their sporting owners!

1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Stand To Reason, what a class to start with. This dog had the edge for me having a stronger muzzle than 2, both having good long lean heads, I found him having the edge on neck, a shorter back, but his hindquarters most certainly clinched the deal! The muscletone was cracking which gave him powerful drive & his tailset was bang on top with nothing to hide. He had a good bite, dark eye, bright expression, a very good forehand, nothing I didn’t like at all. Sadly when it came to BOB, a new handler let him down, & it cost him. Shall watch this dog’s progress, could trouble a few soon! BD;

2 Malzoni’s Ch Travella Striking Steel, now I’m well aware of the winning this dog has done, he is a good ambassador for our breed, but you have to judge dog for dog. He is in cracking condition there is no doubt, but his movement was letting him down & as I said above the other dog scored in more departments for me. RBD;

1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Singin Star, 8 months bitch, very promising, good head, eye & ears which she used well, correct bite, good length of neck which flowed into good shoulders, short back tail bang on top, plenty behind with lovely well muscled hindquarters, moved well. Coat of good texture for age, she moved well, just needs to mature & she will do well. BP.

OB (2)

1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Strike A Pose, this one I really liked! A very smart young lady who gave good account of herself. Good long head, strong muzzle with good bite, dark eye, well placed ears which she used well, the more I looked the more I liked. A very elegant neck set into good shoulders, straight front, short back, again tail on top, as are all from this kennel, she motored round that ring like a train & with good angulation like this you’d expect no less! Coat in good order, showed like a veteran, outshone her kennelmate in the challenge. BB & BOB, congratulations;

2 Barker, Fraser & Sallos’ Leonie

V D Schonebergen, a very well presented little lady indeed as you would expect from this handler. Scored in all departments, sadly she kept tucking herself up on the move which made her movement a bit erratic, would have liked a bit more of her all round, a nice bitch though. RBB.
