FOX WIRE CRUFTS 11 Fox Terrier (Wire) Judge(s): MRS S CONNELL
FOX TERRIER - WIRE Many thanks to the Crufts Committee for their invitation to judge one of my favourite breeds at this world famous show. Temperaments were exemplary as we expect from this lovely breed, presentation was of a very good standard, I didn't have any incorrect bites, however I can't understand why a high number of exhibitors spend so much time on trimming their charges and neglecting the dogs oral hygiene, there were several exhibits whose teeth were in need of cleaning. VD (4,1) 1 Rice and Seymour's Ir Ch Duchmorn Dusty William. This boy is no stranger to me as I have previously judged him and awarded him a RCC. It is difficult to believe he will be 10 years old in May as his owner has maintained him in fantastic condition. He has retained a typical, balanced outline, his head remains masculine without coarseness, lovely front assembly, well muscled quarters and kept his level top line both standing and moving. He is very sound both fore and aft and was presented and handled to an excellent standard. Thanks for bringing him. 2 Coutt's Laural Boy SHCM. Decent shape, nice overall type, level top line, moved well both fore and aft and presented in very good condition. 3 Forman's Beemaid Target. Decent head, level top line, moved soundly and handled to an excellent standard by his young handler. SPD (2) 1 Pearce's Alkinra Making Mischief. Rangy boy as you would expect from a dog of this age. Correct size, beautiful clean skull with excellent length of foreface, correctly set ears and eyes giving a typical expression, lengthy neck flowing into well laid shoulders, excellent front assembly, level top line, correctly set tail, nicely angulated quarters, moved soundly when settled to the job and presented in 1st class order. BPIB. 2 Maughan's Brocolitia Devious. Nicely shaped puppy, but preferred size of 1st. Typical head, correctly placed eyes and ears, well laid back shoulders, level top line, moved well behind. Presentation was not at the same standard as 1st as he was lacking any covering of hair over his shoulders and buttocks. SJD (3) 1 Maughan's Brocolitia Tailormade. Lovely shape, well refined head, nicely set ears and eyes, typical expression, reachy neck, excellent neck and shoulders. Textbook front assembly, level top line, well developed quarters. Moved soundly both fore and aft and presented to an excellent standard. 2 Grant's Travella Shaped Edge Of Granddach. Decent head, well placed eye and ears, reachy neck, good shoulders, level top line, well developed quarters. Moved soundly both fore and aft. 3 Naulls and Barker Wynele Could It Be Magic. Good mouth, nice dark eye, well laid shoulders, level top line, well set tail. Handled very well. PGD (6/1) 1 England's Ashleyheath Of All Eternity. In my opinion this is the best dog this breeder has exhibited. Lovely clean head, well placed eye and ear, typical expression, good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, straight well boned front, level top line, correctly set tail, well developed quarters with hocks low to the ground. Moved soundly both ways and presented in good coat and condition. 2 Llorens Rodriguez' Cacopoulos Skywalker. Good mouth, nice dark eye, well boned, level top line, good tail carriage, nice jacket texture, moved soundly both ways. 3 Ukraintseva's Burrencroft Top Man. Good length of neck flowing into a textbook front assembly, level top line which he holds at all times, correctly set tail, well developed angulated quarters. I don't need to mention the presentation of this exhibit as his owner is renowned for the conditioning and presentation of all her dogs. Moved soundly both fore and aft and effortlessly from side profile. I had no hesitation in awarding him the RCC. 2 Valli Davide's Number One Special. Lovely head eye and ear, reachy neck, well laid shoulder, good spring of rib. Nicely angulated quarter's with a well set tail. Super head with correctly placed eyes and ears, lovely neck flowing into well laid back shoulders, correct front assembly, level top line, well set tail. Nicely angulated quarters and moved so soundly both fore and aft. She was presented in excellent order and was a strong contender for the RCC if her handler would have set her up more correctly in the challenge as he placed her front legs incorrectly making her front appear wide which it is definitely not. 2 Clark & Browban's Whiptail Sea Of Stars.
