FOX WIRE CRUFTS 14 Fox Terrier (Wire) Judge(s): MR A DAVIES TERRIER GROUP WINNER CRUFTS 2014
FOX WIRE JUDGE CRUFTS 14 Wire Fox Terriers It was a great honour to judge at what is the leading dog show in the world & my thanks go to the officers & committee for making my day a pleasant & enjoyable also to the two excellent stewards who kept everything flowing well. I was pleased with my principal winners & delighted to see my BOB go on to top the group. VD (3,1a) 1 Smith’s Lenicka Viking, 10 year old carrying his age well. Correct mouth, good head & ears, harsh coat. Moved OK; 2 Rice & Seymour’s Ir Ch Duchmorn Dusty William, 12 year old who looked well. Presented in good form & condition. Good head & mouth. Just not moving as well as 1 today. PD (2) 1 Cadez’s Ignas De Cresques, youngster with good head & ears & correct mouth. Excellent coat, very good mover. Better presentation would help. BP; 2 Adshead’s Shoalhill Galahad, well presented young dog. Fair head, good ears & bite. Not the movement of 1, needs to develop in body. JD (3) 1 Schoneberg’s Paperman Snow Driver, excellent head, mouth & ear carriage. Good topline & tailset. Presented in good coat. More body weight would help but that will come with time. Moved OK but could be more positive in front. 2. Arnold’s The Big Bopper at Wragley. Heavyish marked dog excelling in coat making a pleasing picture. Good ears but just not quite the head of the winner. Short level back, fair mover. Well presented; 3 Neal’s Selvina Leading Centaur, owner left the ring before I had time to make notes. PGD (11,1) 1 De Munter-Uiterwijk’s Lionheart van Foliny Home, good looking dog from this well-known kennel. Pleasing head with good ears. Long neck with short body. Shown in fair form. Moved OK. Just up to size for me; 2 The Big Bopper at W; 3 Averis’ Saredon Edition, lightly marked dog. Not the head of the others in this class. Fair mover. LD (3) 1 Schoneberg’s Razor Sharp at Paperman, good looking dog with good head, ears & mouth. Excellent coat, level topline, moved OK. Another just up to size for me; 2 De Munter-Uiterwijk’s Knight Hawk van Foliny Home, dog of correct size, quite heavily marked. Good head & expression. Moved OK but not as positive as 1. Better presentation would help; 3 Coutts’ Brocolitia Talk Of The North, fair dog, little big for me. Another where better presentation would help. Rather proud of his tail. OD (11) What a class to have the privilege to judge. The first three all well known winners could change places on another day. 1 De Munter-Uiterwijk’s Ch King Arthur van Foliny Home, classy dog presented in tip top form & in the best of coats. Excellent head, neck & shoulders falling into a level topline & short back. Tail bang on top, correct size. Moved & showed well. CC, BOB & G1; 2 Browne-Cole’s Ch Travella Striking Steel, very well known top winning dog from this renowned kennel. Much of course has been written about him. Good, head & ears, topline & tailset. Great moving dog especially in profile. Just lacking a bit of sparkle in his showmanship today. RCC; 3 Goodsell’s Ch Blackdale Supreme, short coupled dog typical of this well known kennel. Good head, ears neck & topline. Short back, good tailset. Just not moving as positively as the two above. GCD (1) 1 S Leading Centaur, fair type of dog. Better preparation would help. VB (2,1) 1 Day’s Proveits Once Upon A Time, 10 year old with good head. Excellent teeth & mouth for her age. Moved OK. PB (3) 1 Van Weersch’s Warnell’s Our Sweetest Thing, lovely size & elegant youngster. Good head & expression with correct shoulders & front. Short back, good tailset. Moved OK; 2 O’Donoghue’s Blackdale Ballerina, pretty puppy with good head & expression. Short back & level topline. Pleasing overall picture but not the movement of 1; 3 Anderson’s Proveits Viola, pleasing head on this young bitch but needs time to develop. Just needs time. JB (3,1) 1 Baranova & Levina’s Skrim Drim Glamorious Mademoiselle, very nice bitch with good coat & presented in good form. Good head, ears & mouth, good neck & shoulders. Very well prepared; 2 Christ’s Blackdale Isadora, good headed bitch with pleasing front, neck & shoulders. Level topline. Presentation OK. Just not moving as well as the winner. PGB (9,2) 1 Anderson’s Proveits Only Way Is Essex, bitch of correct size but with rather unusual markings. Short body, good tailset. Just needs more body weight to complete the picture. Moved OK; 2 Carrera’s Hagall Des Fox D’Elodie, slightly long cast bitch & up to size. Good head, neck & shoulders, level topline. Ears a little unsettled today. Moved OK; 3 Griffiths’ Brocolitia Grace Kelly at Starland, smaller type of bitch, shown in good condition. Moved well. Better presentation would help. LB (6,1) 1 Schoneberg’s Leonie vd Schonenbergen, bitch of correct size. Good head, neck & shoulders flowing into short back. Presented a lovely outline. Moved OK; 2 Smith’s Lenicka Bright Ideas, strong bitch but just up to size for me. Good coat. Moved OK; 3 Delaye & Mathieu’s Hester Super Du Haillet Des Corneiredes, smaller in size than those above. Good head & ears, good layback of shoulders flowing into short back. Moved OK. OB (10,5) 1 O’Donoghue’s Ir Ch Blackdale Julie, smart bitch presenting a lovely picture. Lovely headpiece with correct ears & mouth. Good topline & quarters. Presented in great form. CC; 2 Van Weerch’s Legra vd Bismarckquelle, heavier marked bitch than 1 who shows really well. Very stylish all through. Clean in head with good neck shoulders & topline. Not quite the movement of 1 but still a nice bitch. Well handled. RCC; 3 Wiggins’ Cradleydale Alexis, smart bitch with lovely head & ears. Good neck & shoulders flowing into short level back. Shown in really good order. Just not moving too well today.
