Many thanks for the opportunity to pass judgement on your dogs. Movement was quite difficult to assess as the condition of the ring was far from ideal.

PD (2)

1 Hunt’s Dominus Draughtsman, a promising hound marked dog of 9 months, appealed for his general make & shape, typical in head & expression, good harsh coat, moved straight & showed well when settled. Given time & maturity he should make his mark. BP;

2 Nixon’s Willowyre Wings Of Steel, a well presented one of the same age, slightly heavier in build than 1. Fair length of head, good reach of neck, level topline. On the day I preferred the overall balance of 1, given time could change places.

JD (2)

1 Clare & Soutar’s Brocolitia Leading Act, heavily marked dog, balanced outline, pleasing head & expression, good reach of neck, correct tailset. I would prefer a touch more bone for his size;

2 Anderson’s Brocolitia Stage Manager, not dissimilar to 1 in make & shape. Preferred movement of 1.

PGD (4,2a)

1 Hurst’s Proveits Stormin Norman, well placed ears, nice dark eye, big spring of rib. Tail a touch low set;

2 Straubinger-Bremar’s Wingwire Helden Potentate, lighter in build than 1. Correct dark eye, level topline, moved straight.

LD (4)

1 Schoneberg’s Razor Sharp at Paperman, fairly heavily marked masculine dog with presence. Good length of head, dark eye with keen expression, fair reach of neck, big spring of rib with level topline, strong well made quarters, moved well in profile. Presented in good form, handled & showed to advantage. RCC;

2 Bradford’s Flyntwyre Figgy Duff, squarely made ginger/w dog of a smaller frame. Typical outline, pleasing head & well placed ears, short compact body, correct tailset, moved straight when settled. It is a pity that he does not assert himself better;

3 W Helden Potentate.

OD (2)

1 Malzoni’s Ch Travella Striking Steel, much has been said about this very well known winning dog by those who have judged him & by others who have not. I would like to add that I think he is an impressive dog when viewed from any angle, he looked a picture of health & condition, moved straight & with drive in an effortless way. He has many fine attributes which include his good length of head with neat well placed ears, his reach of neck & well laid shoulders, big spring of rib, strong quarters, excellent harsh coat which was presented to the highest standard. Very pleased to have the opportunity to judge this dog, today I thought he won with a bit in hand. Went on to win the terrier group & ultimately BIS. CC & BOB;

2 W Helden Potentate.

PB (4)

1 Bambridge’s Nethertonion Sweet Chariot of Beckstone, an interesting lightly marked prospect with pleasing feminine head, good reach of neck, level topline, moved straight, well handled;

2 Russell-Smith’s Dominus Disaronno at Ritelsa, very similar to her litter brother Draughtsman in make & shape. Not so settled on the move as 1. Needs time;

3 Caulfield’s Nethertonion Songbird.

JB (2)

1 Pearce, Hughes & Hill’s Alkinra Rough Diamond, a promising bitch with quality. Liked her length of head, well placed ears & keen expression, level topline, good tailset, strong quarters, well presented & handled. Moved with purpose. Just needs more coat to complete the overall picture & given a touch more maturity she should do well;

2 Anderson’s Proveits Viola, lightly built bitch, just over 12 months, pleasing dark eye, correct tailset, good coat.

PGB (5,2)

1 Harding’s Beekay Bellissima, nice type of bitch with the correct harsh coat, head OK. However I would prefer better ears. Good spring of rib, showed well, in good condition, moved well enough in front & rear;

2 Anderson’s Proveits Only Way Is Essex, nice feminine head with neat ears & dark eye. Touch longer cast than 1. Moved OK behind;

3 Stebbing’s Jazabrak Moonbeam.

LB (4)

1 Chad’s Blackdale Angelina at Parkside, I liked the make & shape of this heavily hound marked bitch. Pleasing head & expression, good reach of neck, short compact body, big spring of rib, good quarters, moved straight although a touch too close at times. Very well handled & presented. RCC;

2 Pearce’s Alkinra Pepper Pot, another quality one from this kennel, she pushed 1 very hard. She has everything in the right place but like her kennelmate needs more coat to complete the picture. One who can never be overlooked;

3 Smith’s Lenicka Bright Ideas.

OB (6,1)

A pleasure to judge this quality class, where I think that first to reserve are capable of winning CCs.

1 Davies & Browne-Cole’s Travella Step Forward, very attractive, classy looking bitch with all the essentials. I liked her for her size & typical feminine stance, good front & bone, pleasing head & expression, good reach of neck & well laid shoulders, correct level topline, good tailset, moved soundly once settled. Presented in excellent order. Given a touch more maturity I think she will get even better. CC;

2 O’Donoghue’s Ir Ch Blackdale Julie, another quality bitch from this well known prefix. Impressive balanced outline, well made throughout with superb presentation & showmanship. Just preferred the overall size of those placed above her;

3 Pearce’s Alkinra Only Time.
