FOX WIRE JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 21

I was asked to officiate at this show, on entering the showground, as the intended judge, Mr Jack Watson, was unable to fulfil his appointment due to ill health. I am sure you will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery and back to his old self. I was, to say the least, surprised to see how low the entry was. I judged my first championship show here in 1992 - there were 49 entries. Today there were 11 dogs present. We are in difficult times with the entire country suffering with this terrible unprecedented pandemic, let us hope we can return to normality as soon as possible. The return of dog shows and other popular pastimes and hobbies will surely help us all move forward. Normal times will definitely return, hopefully sooner rather than later.

PD (1)

1 Kinson’s Viva Quality Casting Vote. Hound marked ten and a half mths old in correct weight and condition for his age. Good head, ear placement and expression, balanced throughout, level topline with good set on, free mover.

PGD (2)

1 Chads’ Parkside Guardsman. Picture marked quality dog in good order. Up to size but a real stallion. Lovely head and expression, moved well for his handler.

2 Harding’s Hardirosella Heartthrob. Well balanced dog of the perfect size. In good show condition and body weight, nice head and expression, correct topline and a free mover.

OD (3)

1 Wurtzburg’s Blackdale Buccaneer Of Russmews. Superbly conditioned and presented dog. I have judged him before and awarded him the Res CC. Have never seen him look better. Delighted to learn that it made him the champion he now is. Looked great in the Group and was placed fourth in very good company. CC and BOB.

2 Schoeneberg & Abadend’s Paperman Purple. Another superbly conditioned and presented dog. Great headed one, attractively hound marked, well balanced, level topline and good set on, pleasing to see two professionals with their charges looking so good against each other. Res CC.

JB (1)

1 Vickers & Dams’ Jodean Margarita At Tamedale. Lovely headed bitch with correct ears giving her a sharp expression, well balanced, correct size, moved and showed very well. Understand she is just out of puppy. I am sure will have a decent future.

LB (1)

1 Vickers’ Lacus Reincarnation At Eskwyre. Bitch of correct size, make and shape. Lovely head, neck and shoulders, level topline with good set on, moved and showed well.

OB (5)

1 Barrett’s Tyquin Polar Ice. Make no mistake, this is a top quality bitch in any company. Beautiful head, great outline, short compact body with good set on. She has a very good show temperament and attitude. Showing well for her experienced handler. Well deserved CC.

2 Ebdon’s Stunning Luxe Jaime La Vie At Flashblack (Imp Rus). Another top quality bitch in fantastic show condition and presentation by her handler. Another beautiful headed one, heavily marked but nonetheless very attractive, well balanced throughout and moved well. Top show dog to boot! Res CC.

3 Nixon’s Willowyre Whyte Magic.

VB (1)

1 Harding’s Beekay Bellissima At Hardirosella. Really fit, well conditioned bitch in her twelfth year. Well balanced, terrific coat and body trim, credit to her handler for keeping her in such good nick! Nice head and expression and very well balanced throughout, moved and showed very well.
