1 Moorhouse’s Skelmoss Quite Frankly, very raw 9½ months puppy. Smart dog with many attributes. Pleasing head. Good make & shape with plenty of substance for a youngster. Good bone. Nicest of feet which is something many Wires are lacking. Moved OK but needs to settle in front. Has time on his side.

1 Rice’s Winning Colours at Duchmorn, racier type but with correct length of neck & short back. Clean front but could be slightly deeper in chest. Good bone. Good hindquarters & plenty behind tail. I would like a stronger muzzle & less fall away under the eye. Moved OK.

1 Browne-Cole’s Travella The Super Trooper, very smart quality male. Pleasing head & expression with correct ear. Very pleasing front. Super bone & body for such a youngster. Good length on neck into clean shoulder. Short strong level topline. Plenty behind the tail. Well developed hind quarters. To be hypercritical I would like him to have a very slightly greater turn of stifle. Still has time on his side. Pleased to award him the RCC in good company

Interesting class to judge with four very different males competing.

1 Barker’s Irvonhill Cider Cup, smart male dog who presents a very clean outline. He is however up to size & I certainly wouldn’t want him any bigger. Very nice headpiece of correct proportions & with strength throughout yet without any evidence of coarseness. Good dark keen eye & good neat ear. He has a lovely long lean neck into correct shoulder placement. Strong level topline which is retained on the move. Good front. Good bone & feet. Super hindquarters with good angulation & well developed second thigh. Moved well fore & aft. Presentation A1. Pleased to award him the CC which I was told makes him up. Congratulations;

2 Malzoni’s Am Ch Hampton Court’s Machida, quality Wire with many attributes. Has a lovely head & expression with super keen varminty expression & perfect ear size & carriage. Level topline with good tailset & plenty behind the tail. Well ribbed up. In great condition & presented & handled to advantage. I just felt that he lacked masculinity for me & just wanted a bit more of him all over which is why he lost to the first placed dog;

3 Nixon’s Willowyre Wings Of Steel, another very good wire from this kennel.

Three very raw puppies that all need just a little more time.

1 Murphy’s Eskwyre Extreme, nice bitch with promise. Good head & expression. Correct ear carriage. Super overall outline. Wouldn’t want her to grow on too much from here;

2 England’s Ashleyheath Dusty Dawn, nice bitch but very raw at present. Has promise but needs to shorten up a little. Nice head & ear. Not in the best of jackets today. Moved OK;

3 Clayton’s Moelfre Honey Bee.

1 Lilley’s Wyregait Cider With Rosie, lovely quality bitch with promise. Lovely lean head of correct proportions, very feminine but without loss of strength. Super length of neck into excellent shoulder placement. Ultra short. Good hindquarters which are correctly angulated. Considered for higher honours. Another that I wouldn’t want any bigger;

2 Ford & Burton’s Selvina Lady Luck, nice bitch with very pleasing head & expression. Good make & shape. Just not the balance or front reach of the first placed bitch;

3 Dodds’ Mcleanwyre Heartlands Girl.

1 Arnold’s Wrapped In Magic for Wragley, I have never seen this bitch before & she stopped me in my tracks when I saw her on the table. I thought this bitch quite beautiful. She had the best head & expression of the day. Super long lean neck into the best of shoulders. Strong in topline which is short. Clean front. Good bone for a bitch. Excellent well developed hindquarters. Pin wire coat. Move well with drive. Pushed the CC winner hard & just lost out on overall finish & maturity. However this bitch with fair play should make up. I will watch her with interest.

1 Pearce & Hughes’ Alkinra Rough Diamond, nice bitch of quality. Pleasing head. Good for size & make & shape. Clean front. Good outline & in good hard condition. Completely out of jacket today unfortunately. To be slightly critical I would like a bit more reach in front on side gait.

1 Potts & Young’s Travella Set Fair for Kebulak, very pleasing bitch. She has a lovely long lean head with good eye & neat correct eat size & carriage. Classic outline. Clean in neck & correct in shoulder. Correct front assembly. Short in back & well ribbed up. Correct hindquarter angulation. In good hard condition. To be hypercritical I would like a little more depth in chest to complete. Moves very well. Pin wire coat & typical wire bitch temperament. Please to award her the CC & subsequently BOB. Pleased to see her later go G2 in a good Terrier Group;

2 Schoneberg’s Snowbell vd Schonen Bergen, nice very feminine bitch of excellent quality, Good size & make & shape. Not quite the movement of the first placed bitch today;

3 Pearce & Hughes’ Alkinra Rough Diamond.
