FOX WIRE MANCHESTER 23 Judge: Mr Martin Sanders FOX WIRE JUDGE MANCHESTER 23 Thank you to the Officers and Committee of Manchester Championship show for this opportunity to judge Wire Fox Terriers. A decent entry of 24 with 5 absent and I must mention the sporting manner in which my placings were received. I do fully appreciate what effort it takes to put a “wire” in the ring in pristine condition. 1 Ebdon & Ebdon, Flashback Aston Martin 15 months a well grown individual of some merit, fair in head which has good length with a dark eye with neat well placed ears. Neck flows into a clean front assembly. Ribbing is ok with level top line which leads to a well set tail. Plenty in bone with compact feet. Moved away displaying good parallel drive. OK in front on the return. Presented in correct crisp jacket. 1 Roulston, Kentwone Boston to Ivyjewel. Pleasing in head, eye and expression. Dark in eye which gives off a wicked expression all topped off with neat well placed ears. Plenty in neck. Shoulders ok, ribbing is correct with a level top line which leads to a well set tail. Bone and feet are correct. Presented in harsh jacket and moved out soundly both ways. 1 Adshead, Magsmoor Mr Topsy Turvey. Correct for overall honest breed type. Correct in head which has good length with dark eye which gives off a keen expression. Ears are well placed. Neck flows into a clean front assembly with good fill in fore-chest. Ribbing is well sprung with short back which leads to a well set tail. He stands on good bone with neat compact feet. Coat was presented well. Would however prefer a firmer hock but did deserve to win this class! 2 Doyle, Doyle, Selvina Indigo. OK for overall breed type; would however prefer more refinement in head. Neck and front assembly correct. Plenty in rib with firm top line and correct tail set. Jacket was crisp, just needs to give more on the move. My class of the day! 1 O’Donoghue, Ch Blackdale Regent. Yet another top draw exhibit produced by this kennel and he must rank up there with the best. On inspection he has a head to die for. Great length with correct skull and strength in his fore face. Super in eye which gives off a wicked expression all topped off with the best of neat well placed ears which he used to good advantage at all times. He excels in neck which flows into a clean well laid shoulder. He has a well-developed fore chest, excellent in rib which is carried well back to a firm loin. Top line is solid which leads to a high set tail with plenty in shelf. He stands on excellent bone with neat compact feet. His movement was accurate displaying parallel rear drive with enough extension in front when viewed from any angle. He just looked right at all times. As usual from this talented handler his coat presentation was flawless. Pleased to award him the CC and later on was still performing soundly to claim BoB. Congratulations. 2 Schoneberg, Paperman Hello. Curious name? Yet another with so much to admire all through. Classic in head which has length with plenty in for face. Alert at all times with his expression. Dark expressive eyes all topped off with neat well placed ears/. Good reach ion neck with a well laid shoulder. Ample in rib with a firm top line which leads to a high set tail with good shelf. He is well developed in his rear with parallel hocks. Again another that was sound going away. For me could have been a touch tidier on the return but again presentation was one hundred percent. Ran the winner all the way to the “wire”. Will I’m sure gain his crown! 3 Hughes, Ford, Duesmann, Slo Ch, Alkinra Entertainer. 1 Liston, Brocolitia Showdown. Typical in most departments. Good balance in head with a keen eye giving off a pleasing expression. Ears are well placed. Plenty in rib with good tail set. Bone and feet are ok. Moved out with purpose having a good day out! 1 Roulston, Kentwone Boston to Ivyjewel. 1 Connell, Sonorra Bright Star and she could well be in time. Feminine all through, excellent in head which has good balance. Super in eye and expression. Neat well placed ears. Neck has good length. Top line and tail set all good. Bone has quality with neat feet. Overall body proportions on the stack display correct balance. On the out and back, once settled she was accurate in her footfalls considering this was her maiden debut she coped with proceedings well. BPIB. 1 Wiggins & Westwood, Nethertonion Serverina. A quality exhibit to go over. Feminine in head which has good length. Flat skull, dark eye, plenty in foreface all topped off with neat well placed ears which she used to good advantage at all times. Neck just flows into a clean front assembly. Short in back but stands over plenty of ground. Top line is level and leads to a high set tail with good shelf. She has quality in her bone with neat compact feet. Once settled moved out well. Again presented in excellent jacket. Today the RCC; just needs more time to mature up. Should wear her crown! 2 Wynter, Flashback Autacity. I judged this exhibit back in August 2022 praised her virtues that day and she went on to Best Puppy in Show under a different judge. She still has my respect and will still continue to do well. However, her usual pilot was not available and this showed in her movement. This is not a criticism just an observation! PGB (4,1ab) 1 Roulston, Brococitia Clmentia at Ivyjewel. Has enough to admire all through. Feminine in head which has good length. Dark in eye, neat well placed ears. Neck has length. Front assembly is correct. Short in back with level top line which leads to a high set tail. Bone and feet are correct. Moved out soundly on the out and back and was presented in crisp jacket. 2 De Munter-Viterwwk, True Love Van Foliny Home. Close up to the winner in most departments. Good feminine head which has correct length. Excellent in eye and expression. Neat well placed ears which she used at all times. Neck flows into a clean front assembly. Plenty in rib. Short back with ok tail set but carried it a little too much over her back. Bone has quality with neat feet. Presented in good order. Just felt that the winner went with a bit more verve. 3 Bentley, Blackdale Madam Dancer of Newguild. 1 Ford & Burton, Selvina Isadora. Has plenty to admire. Head is feminine with plenty of length. Dark in eye which gives off a pleasing expression. Ears are well placed and used to good advantage. Neck flows into a clean front assembly. However, she would benefit for more fill in her fore chest. Ribbing is ok. She is short in back which leads to a well set tail with plenty in shelf. She stands on quality bone with neat compact feet. Whilst she moved out correctly just felt she could have given more. However, presentation was excellent. 1 Davani, Ch Travella Silent Agenda. Nothing “silent” about this one. As usual from this stable another top draw exhibit. So pleasing to go over. Head is long and lean but truly feminine. Small dark eye which gives off a keen expression all topped off with neat well placed ears which she used to good advantage at all times. She excels in neck which flows into a clean front assembly with plenty in fore chest. Ribbing is well sprung with level top line. Short in back which leads to a high set tail with plenty in shelf. Her bone has quality with cat like feet. Presentation was on hundred percent. On the move she displayed that typical rear drive. However, on the return she was not cooperating with her talented handler who did her best to keep her under control. Nevertheless another CC to add to her list and I’m sure will continue to claim many more! 2 Ebdon, Ebdon, Ir Ch Stunning Luxe Jaime La Vie at Flashback (Imp Rus). A mature individual of some merit. Head, eye and expression all good. Plenty in neck with a well filled fore chest. Ribbing is good with a firm top line. Tail set is ok. Bone has quality with good feet. Coat was presented in crisp texture and she moved out ok.
