FOX WIRE JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 23

Thank you for the entry. I enjoyed judging one of my favourite breeds. There were some very nice quality among the exhibits. Thank you also to my two excellent Stewards. Bites were correct and presentation was, generally, of a good standard.

PD(1) (1a)

PGD(3) (1a) –

1. Roulston’s Kentwone Boston To Ivyjewel – nicely marked and in good jacket. Good bone without being overdone. Shoulders well laid back, balanced, level top line with tail on top. Well presented. Moved well both ways.

2. Ebdons’ Flashback Aston Martin – shorter back than my winner. Level top line but would prefer a better set on. Pleasing expression with dark eye giving that keen expression. Moved well both ways.

LIMIT (5) –

1. Johnston’s Eskwyre Showdown at Oregill – judged him as a puppy and he has matured well. Correct head proportions and well placed ears. Dark eye and keen expression. Good reach of neck and shoulders well laid back, strong quarters, tail on top with plenty behind the tail. Shown in good coat. Moved well.

2. Doyles’ Selvina Indigo – very well presented with excellent jacket. Pleasing head, dark eye giving keen expression. Correct lay back of shoulder, level top line and tail on top. Moved well both ways. Just preferred the overall balance of my winner.

3.Moakes Aman Oscar Star.

OPEN (5) (1a) –

1. Schoneberg Paperman Hello – my type of Wire – loved him. Masculine without being overdone. Correct head proportions, well placed ears, dark eye giving that keen expression you look for in this breed. Lovely reach of neck leading to well laid back shoulders. Level top line with tail on top. Straight front and strong hindquarters. Moved well. Pleased to award him the CC which I understand makes him up.

2. O’Donoghue’s Ch Blackdale Regent – similar type to my winner and many of the same attributes apply. Pleasing head with correctly placed ears. Good reach of neck, well laid back shoulders. Correct overall balance. Picture book marked. Both dogs were beautifully presented and on another day could easily swap places RCC.

3. Huikeshoven Ch DK, NL, Ch Aman Crispey King.

VD (3) (1a) –

1. Rice’s Winning Colours at Duchmorn – very smart 8 year old. Excellent jacket. Pleasing head and expression with dark eye and well placed ears. Beautifully presented and very well handled.

2. Hardings’ Hardirosella Heartthrob – another 8 year old. Pleasing expression and moved well. Coat not at its best today.

JB (2) –

1. Panattoni’s Template Uthopia – very attractive, quality bitch. Feminine, lovely head of correct proportions, well placed ears, dark eye giving that keen expression. Level top line and tail on top. Correct size and balance. Very well handled and presented. Should have a good future RCC.

2. Rice’s Oh La Kamee Nickers at Duchmorn – timid and did not show very well. Needs to settle.

PGB (7) (3a) –

1. Van Weersch’s Blossom Purple v.d. Golden Hope – pleasing head with dark eye giving keen expression. Good bone without being overdone. Neck of good length and level top line. Tail on top and strong hindquarters. Moved well.

2. Williams Alkinra Gossip Gal – heavier marked than one. Pleasing head and expression. Level top line with tail on top. Moved and showed well.

3. Griffiths Brocolitia Aurora

LB (5) (1a) –

1. Roulston’s Brocolitia Clementia at Ivyjewel – nicely marked and feminine. Balanced, straight front, correct head proportions with keen expression. Good presentation and moved well.

2. Walton’s Blackdale Irish Beauty – correct head with keen expression. Shown in excellent coat and well presented. Moved okay both ends. Just preferred the overall balance of my winner.

3. Maughan’s Brocolitia Crystal Glow

OB (5) (1) –

1. Schoenenberg’s Blanca vd Schoenen Bergen – loved this bitch. She had all the characteristics I look for in this breed. Feminine, balanced and of correct size. Pleasing head, well placed ears and dark eyes giving that so important penetrating expression. Good reach of neck, shoulders well laid back, level top line and tail on top. Small, compact feet. Moved very well, in good coat and beautifully presented. Pleased to award her the CC & BOB. Congratulations on RBIS.

2. Wiggins & Westwood’s Nethertonian Severina – another lovely bitch with picture book markings. Balanced clean head, well placed ears, dark eye with keen expression. Correct front, level top line, excellent neck and shoulder placement. Well-presented, moved and showed well.

3. Ebdon’s Ir Ch Stunning Luxe Jaime La Vie at Flashback.

VB (1) –

1 Harding’s Hardirosella Heart and Soul – 8 years old. In reasonable coat and condition and although she moved okay she was not a ‘happy bunney’
