FOX WIRE SOUTH WALES 15 Judge(s): W R IRVING Wire Fox Terriers The entry of 22 was disappointing, but what it lacked in numbers it made up for in quality & I was particularly impressed by the two open classes which contained some very good exhibits. JD (0). PGD (2,1) 1 Wurtzburg’s Blackdale Buccaneer of Russmews, a very pleasing young dog just out of junior. Good head & correct eye with enough length of foreface. Excellent neck blending into good topline. Moved very well behind & OK in front. LD (2) 1 Forman & Jones’ Travella Big Impact at Maidfern, good in head & expression, cleaner in cheeks than 2, & had more coat. Good neck & correct level topline. Good compact feet & short enough in body. Good bend of stifle. Didn’t always do what his handler wanted him to!; 2 Moakes’ Jomoaka Jack The Lad, a bit heavier in head than 1, but good in neck & shoulder. Moved particularly well behind. Could do with a bit more coat all round to complete the picture & give him a more balanced appearance. OD (6,1) 1 Malzoni & De Munter Uiterwijk’s Ch King Arthur Van Foliny Home, a very pleasing & typy dog with an excellent head with just the right proportions & good expression. Very good in neck & topline & correct shortness of back, which gives him a really good outline. He moves well behind & OK in front though he does at times want to get a bit ahead of his handler. Good in stifle & correct in rib without being overdone there. Good compact feet. Showed all the time & went on to win DCC, BOB G1 & eventually BIS. A quality exhibit that combines the type, construction & showmanship to carry him through to such top honours; 2 Barker & Schoneberg Int/Am Ch Foxcreek JP Ideal Or Idiot, a good dog excellent in neck & shoulder. Moved well in front & also went well behind. Good in foreface & well proportioned in body. Correct eye & expression & scored in rib. RDCC; 3 Callega & Schembri’s Ch Mastini Di Rihana Goes To Casino. GCD (1) 1 Travella Big Impact at Maidfern. JB (1) 1 Lilley’s Wyregait Shades Of Silver, good in skull & foreface & correct in ear. Good clean neck & stands up well. Good in bone for age. Good topline & tailset & correct in loin. Good stifles but needs to settle in movement. PGB (4,1) 1 Mulhall’s Travella Special Agenda, good in head with correct skull & foreface proportions. Good eye. Pleasing in neck & topline. Moved better behind than in front where looking up at her handler doesn’t help. Typical in back rib. Good coat & well presented; 2 Campen’s Coedrhosyn Kaliko, not so good in rib & didn’t have quite the head properties of 1. Moved OK behind but could be better in front. Topline OK but a bit overdone in body; 3 Hampton & Wynter’s Wofferwood Tansy. LB (4,2) 1 Bambridge’s Nethertonion Sweet Chariot of Beckstone, very good in neck flowing into excellent topline. Good eye & OK in foreface. Good small tight feet. Well bent stifles. Didn’t move all that well on the way around the ring & could have a shade more depth of chest. Good in couplings. Well muscled behind; 2 Hampton & Wynter’s Wofferwood Tansy, showed extremely well & well handled. Could be a shade shorter in back & more refined in head but was tremendously well muscled behind & obviously has plenty of exercise. OB (5) 1 Cadez’ Hermione de Cresecques, very pleasing in head, neck & topline & a particularly good mover behind with good drive there. Excellent clean neck with good shoulders & good level topline with correct tailset. Correct small compact feet. Good bend of stifle without losing any stability in hocks. Correct in loin & showed a very pleasing outline. Went on to win the BCC; 2 Frost’s Travella Secret Passion, a bitch who, like 1, is not small. She scored here over the others for movement & strode out extremely well with more drive than some. Pleasing in head & expression & OK for outline & proportions. RBCC; 3 Barker & Schoneberg’s Nethertonion Pendant. GCB (0). RONNIE IRVING |
