Kerry Blue Terriers

A small but quality entry,

PD (2)

1 Cyres’ Licenced To Thrill, raw but promising puppy with good ring presence, nice head, good eye, good pigmentation. Would just prefer ears carried a little higher. Good body for age, good tailset & backend, moved well, well presented & handled;

2 Salmon’s Windygap Winter Blues, another pup with promise, but have seen him show better. Good colour & great body for his age, good ribcage & set on. Would like just a little more strength in foreface. Good pigmentation. Moved very well when he got going but not using his ears or showing as well as I know he can.

PGD (1)

1 Read’s Kopykats King Of The Castle, smart dog, well presented, nice head & eye. A little upright in shoulder. Nice neck, good body, ribs & depth of chest, good tailset, OK for colour, good hind movement, showed & handled well.

LD (2)

1 RCC, Dale & Cooper’s Kamaghan Ace Lynnsto, nice shapely dog, good head, shoulders, topline, body & tailset, good clean front & decent backend, well off for bone, good coat texture & colour, moved & showed well. Rather a handful but his handler has him well under control;

2 Pinfold’s Cyres Master Craftsman, ultra short back dog of nice size & type, excellent tailset, good front & body with good ribcage, very good backend with plenty behind the tail, colour coming through well. Not using his ears & have seen him show much better, would prefer a cleaner head.

OD (1)

1 CC, Averis’ Ir Ch Madragorm Maximus at Irisblu, not a lot to dislike about this one, can’t say I’ve always been a big fan in the past but he deserves the title he now has. Decent head of good length, good neck, excellent shoulder placement on strong well built body with level topline into good set on, well sprung ribs, deep chest, good bone & bend of stifle, good colour & excellent coat texture, moved & showed well, handled & in very good order.

PB (4,1a)

A quality class.

1 BP, Pinfold’s Cyres Sure To Thrill, has a lot of maturing to do but one cannot deny her quality & promise, pretty bitch, good head & eye, well placed & carried ears, nice neck, good shoulder placement, good front & backend with good set on. Moved well when not playing up;

2 Gallett’s Cyres Dressed To Thrill, litter sister to 1 & easy to tell, raw but promising pup who could do well with maturity, full of herself & giving her owner a bit of a hard time, but better this than being timid. Pretty with nice head, ears, good neck & shoulder, good set on & carriage, good backend;

3 Martin’s Gaelgorm Dark Thoughts.

JB (1)

1 Pinfold’s Cyres Born To Thrill, a lot of thrilling going on here. Litter sister to the first 2 in PB & the PD class winner, with a bit more maturity than her siblings. Good head, dark eye & pigmentation, good shoulders, nice body with deep chest. Will shorten with maturity. Nice set on, moved & handled well.

PGB (1)

1 Dale & Cooper’s Lynnsto High Velocity, nicely constructed bitch but was not putting all in. Nice head, good neck & shoulder, great body which with less coat would not look so heavy, so well bodied she cannot afford to carry any excess coat. Good forehand, deep chest, well set tail, good mover, colour coming through well. Not really interested here.

OB (2)

There may have only been two but what a two! slightly different types but I really liked both & would love to have had two CCs to award, Chelsey is a well known winner & is deserving of her many wins but the little shown Angel is also a quality bitch with potential, both were expertly presented, oddly enough I had the same dilemma when I judged the two as puppies at National Terrier a few years ago.

1 CC & BOB, Davies’ Ch Perrisblu Kennislain’s Chelsey, on top form in showmanship, ring presence, presentation & handling, always a great shower but there has been the odd occasion this year when I thought she didn’t quite sparkle 110 per cent as I know she can & has, but this was certainly not the case here, difficult to fault, very pretty, eyecatching well balanced feminine bitch, lovely coat & colour, good head of nice length, excellent ear carriage, clean front & well placed shoulders, level topline, well ribbed up with good body & well set tail, good behind, nice bend of stifle, well let down hocks, moved & handled well, went on to add another group to her growing list;

2 RCC, Ensell’s Nemiah Born Of An Angel, lovely bitch with great ring presence, good clean head with good length, dark eye & pigmentation, well placed ears, nicely arched neck, well bodied with deep chest, good topline into superb tailset with good forehand & super backend, nicely let down hocks & moving well, well handled & presented. Not the lovely silver blue of Chelsey but plenty of colour & good coat texture, bit of a cliché I know, but unlucky to come up against 1 in such good form, though should have her day, (bet many would wish they could breed one as good in their first litter!)
