KERRY BLUE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 14 Judge: Mrs C E Cartledge BEST OF BREED : 4924 WEATHERHEAD Mr J Ch Hallsblu Fibber Magee Ir J Ch KERRY BLUE JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 14 Kerry Blue Terriers The entry was small, 22 minus three absentees. We could have done with a bigger ring as Kerries need a bit of space to get moving properly. I was very happy with my main winners, temperaments & presentation generally. VD (0). PD (4,1a) 1 Anderson & Watt’s Edbrios Explorer, nearly 10 months, settled down to perform very well, masculine head, good bone, excellent coat & condition. Fit body, well handled, moved well behind but needs to firm up in front action. At the moment looks a shade long cast; 2 Munro’s Arkama Jack To A King, 7 months, short coupled, tail on top, quality head, keen expression, good reach of neck, well presented coat. Could be stronger in hind movement. Very short attention span. Good potential; 3 Rose & Tracey’s Arkama Highlander. JD (0). PGD (2) 1 Davani’s Kebulak Lady Killer, 17 months, shapely youngster with lovely curves, plenty behind the tail, excellent silhouette, full of personality. Used his neck to advantage, keen expression, dark eyes, full of fire when he stared at his opponent. Silky coat, in great form, easy mover; 2 Rathbone’s Kebulak Blue Demon in Qaraqul, 2 years, good length of head, well carried ears, short back, showy & focused but not moving as well as 1. Very gay tail carriage spoilt overall impression. LD (1) A. OD (2) 1 CC & BOB, Weatherhead’s Ch Hallsblu Fibber Magee, 2½ years mid blue with excellent coat. Full of terrier spirit, lovely outline & proportions, good depth of brisket, well sprung ribs, fit well knit body, well muscled hindquarters. Long head, expressive eyes, well set ears, arched neck, good tailset, showed non stop, animated mover. Looked well in the group ring with more space; 2 RCC, Clarke-O’Neill’s Ch Lemracdream The Navigator, nearly 4, handsome dog who used his neck to best advantage. Quality head, coat in excellent condition, easy mover, steady showman, high set tail, well handled & presented. GCD (0). VB (0). PB (2) 1 BP, Davani’s Kebulak Playing With Fire, 11½ months, comfortable winner of this class & also BP. Well balanced with everything in the right place, feminine head, keen expression, showy & cooperative when she wanted to be. Beautifully presented coat, moved well, shapely body. Promising; 2 Jones’ Arkama Harmony Miss D’arcy, 9 months, had plenty to say for herself. Good body, attractive head. Failed in hindquarters & hind movement. Needs a bit of schooling & a firm hand. JB (0). PGB (1) 1 Rathbone’s Kebulak Lady Godiva in Qaraqul, 19 months, ultra feminine bitch with firm fit body, well proportioned, smart & showy. Could use her neck better when posed & I should like to see her move with a little more drive behind. LB (5,2) 1 Anderson & Watt’s Kebulak Naked And Famous, 3 years, good honest bitch, big quarters, shapely body, good bone & depth of body, excellent coat, moved & showed well. Quality head, expressive dark eyes. By same sire as BP; 2 Forrest & Scott’s Lacaranaveen Orla, 4 years, half sister to RCC dog. Good length of head, good neckline, strong body, willing showgirl; 3 Rafter’s Arkama My Way. OB (5) Best class of the day. 1 CC, Davies’ Millsblu Living The Dream at Perrisblu, 2 years, lovely bitch of top quality, excellent coat & colour, beautifully presented, very fit & well muscled, best of necklines, good body & rib. Most typical head & expression, neat ears, keen intelligent showgirl. Like the DCC winner sired by Kings Ransome, the dog I gave a CC to last time I judged; 2 RCC, Ramsay’s Irisblu Boston Rose at Torum, 2½ years, typy bitch with much to like. Gorgeous head & eye, big body & rib, well boned, good tailset, lovely coat & condition, well handled & presented. High spirited showgirl; 3 Davani & Walters’ Kebulak Bare All. LIZ CARTLEDGE |
