KERRY BLUE JUDGE LEEDS 19

My thanks to the committee of Leeds Ch Show for the invitation to judge. Leeds was my very first ever Ch show back in the day when I showed German Shepherds so I was delighted with the opportunity to judge here... we have happy memories of Leeds, having gone BIS in the past with Geoff and Tunde the KBT. Many thanks to the exhibitors who entered. I had a small, but quality entry. We had a good large ring but the ground was a little uneven in places so movement wasn’t as steady by some. Temperaments were all good.

PGD

1 Clarke O’Neill’s Lemracdream Aegon. A compact young male with a lovely outline. Soft, wavy coat with colour coming. He has a masculine head with good ear set which he used well. Mouth ok with nice dark gums. Good neck and shoulders. Super tail set and carriage with plenty behind the tail, steady mover and showed beautifully. RCC.

LD

1 Hetherington’s Newent Soul Man. Strong young male with good neckline and shoulders. Good tail set and back end with well developed quarters. He has a correct coat with plenty of colour coming. Good bite with dark gums and dark eye giving a good Kerry expression. Moves true. When he settles, presents a good picture. Pleased to hear that this award gave him his well-deserved title. CC and Best Male.

OD (1)

1 Bagworth & Connor’s Carliams Dark Plan At Faragoma. Strong male with a masculine head, good ears, dark eye, good mouth with dark gums. Coat is soft but without wave (which maybe down to how he has been groomed). Moved ok. Well built dog but I would prefer a bit more behind the tail which he carries well enough.

PB (1)

1 O’Rourke’s Kebulak Desire On Fire. Lovely feminine puppy with a good head and expression. Good mouth and bite. Decent neck and good ribs. Beautiful coat texture for age with a big soft wave. Moved ok on a very hot day but pleased to award her BPIB. JB 1 Anderson & Watt’s Irisblu Viola. Lovely head and expression with a correct bite and good dark gums. Good shoulder placement, holds a good top line on the move with good tail set and rear. Coat texture very good with a cast of colour to come in evidence. Steady mover RCC.

2 Prendergast’s Lakki Kerry Pride With Glory. This bitch has an excellent head, good neckline and tail set and presents a good outline standing. She was a little unsettled on the move, but I did see glimpses of good reach and drive. Her coat felt a little dryer than 1 today. But I really liked both youngsters in this class.

PGB

1 Jones’ Joalyn Sweet Melody. Another lovely headed bitch with a very nice coat and colour. She has a good bite, dark eye and ears well placed. Tail set and back end are good. Slightly longer cast. Moved well enough on the uneven ground.

2 Bagworth & Connor’s Emma Aqua Pixie Breeze At Faragoma. Not the quality in head as 1. Well made bitch, Colour good, soft coat. Would prefer a better tail set and carriage, not as positive on the move.

LB

1 Wilkinson’s Mauve Of Hearts At Cranmoss. Presents a good picture standing with a decent topline. Overall outline ok, she is well made and could possibly benefit from a little less weight, coat texture good, head and mouth good. Needs to step out on the move. Three attractive bitches in this class.

OB

1 Clarke O’Neill’s Ch Lemracdream Against All Odz. For me she has everything I would want in a bitch. She is feminine but with a dark wicked eye giving her a super Kerry expression. Very well balanced and presents a lovely outline. She has a clean head with good bite and dark gums and good ear set and carriage. She is on her toes all the time with tail on top of her well developed quarters. She has a beautiful coat with plenty of colour and correct texture. Lovely neckline and shoulders and a good ribcage. She never stops showing and moves with plenty of reach and drive. She looked great in the Group and was shortlisted in good company. CC and BOB.

2 Davani’s Kebulak Dirty Little Secret. Very well presented, with an attractive head, dark eye and good mouth. Good soft coat with lovely colour. Decent back end and tail set. Didn’t move as well on the uneven ground today.

3 Jones’ Arkama Harmony Miss D’arcy.
