KERRY BLUE JUDGE SOUTH WALES 15

Kerry Blue Terriers

This was the first time I had awarded CCs to the breed & though the entry of just 24 was not big, I felt that the quality of the dogs at the top was very good indeed with several to which I would have no hesitation in awarding a CC.

PD (2)

Two pleasing dogs in this class.

1 Clarke-O’Neill’s Lemracdream Raphael, this dog scored slightly in skull over 2 & certainly behaved rather better. Very good outline with a good neck & topline. Moved pretty well in front & was good in body proportions & loin. Good tailset. Enough bend of stifle. Went on to be BP;

2 Seddon & Butler’s Lemracdream Donatello, I see he is the litter brother of 1 & has many of his qualities. He was a bit of a handful to show. He was good in shoulder & front & also moved particularly well behind. Could be better in tailset but was better in tail than 1. OK in coat coming along well but does need a bit more ring discipline.

JD (2)

1 Rose & Tracey’s Arkama Gung Ho, slightly smaller type than 2 & colour developing well. Better behind than in front. Very good in neck, topline & tailset. Showed better than 2 & was rather leaner in head;

2 Marley’s Lansmars Brian Boru, was not behaving well in the ring & didn’t use his front well. He too was excellent in outline, topline & tailset & completed a pair of promising youngsters who should do well when they settle down.

PGD (1)

1 Gallett’s Lakki Kerri Vero Cavaliere, a very smart dog in outline but could be a shade tidier in front & more positive behind. Very good short-coupled outline with an excellent neck & topline & excellent in underline. Good small feet & excellent in strength of muzzle. Ear played up today.

LD (1) A.

OD (3)

1 Clarke-O’Neill’s Ch/Ir Ch Lemracdream The Navigator, really scores for movement & exceptionally powerful drive behind & is very correct coming & going but particularly good in stifle when seen in profile. Plenty of strength of foreface & good in ears. Very good in neck & topline with correct tailset & carriage & good short coupled body. Shows his typical outline well on the move around the ring & went on to win DCC & BOB;

2 Davani’s Ch Kebulak Lady Killer, another excellent dog & one which was very good in head & skull. Good neck & topline with correct tailset. Ears could be better. Excellent depth of brisket & good underline. Good small feet & correct bone. Another quality exhibit with accurate & correct, but not quite as dramatic & powerful, movement as 1. RDCC;

3 Daly’s Ir Ch Commamche Creek.

PB (2,1a)

1 Davani’s Kebulak Sweet Revenge, has a very good lean enough head & is developing well for her age. Good ears & pleasing in neck. Needs to be a shade tidier in front movement but still very much a puppy. Good in hind movement. Kept a good outline moving around the ring. Could be better in tail & sometimes appears a bit straight in stifle when standing.

JB (3)

1 Munro’s Arkama Guilty Pleasure, rather more collected than the others in this class & good in head, eye & expression. Good ears & not overdone. Very pleasing topline & outline & was rather sounder & more settled moving than 2 here;

2 Martin & Burke’s Gaelgorm Dark Desire, another one with a good head with great strength of jaw but not quite the outline or profile movement of 1 & needs time to settle & develop in body & pull herself together rather better when moving around the ring;

3 Pinfold’s Atlanta Blue Cherie Etoile.

PGB (2,1)

1 Gaelgorm Dark Desire.

LB (3,1)

1 O’Rourke’s Kebulak Hot As Hell, a very pleasing bitch good in head properties & good ears. Moved out pretty well. Good topline. Stands well in front & was good in shoulder. Correct small feet. Good colour & coat & held outline well on the move. I felt she had a really good outline & was well proportioned. Went on to win RBCC;

2 Jones’ Arkama Harmony Miss D’Arcy, another pleasing bitch but not quite the style of the winner. Good in head & expression & well put together with a good neck. Good in rib & correct in brisket.

OB (6,1)

1 Davies’ Ch Millsblu Living The Dream at Perrisblu, a very pleasing bitch with a really good head with just the right proportions there, good well carried ears. Very good, correct & precise movement in front & behind & looked good going around holding her profile well. Good level topline & correct set on of tail. Correct well bent stifles & pleasing colour & coat. Went on to win BCC;

2 Carson’s Kebulak Miss Sixty, another pleasing bitch with a good neck & topline. Better in front than 3. Good depth of brisket & OK in head with correct strength of jaw but could be better in ear carriage. Excellent in loin & OK in hindquarters;

3 Tasselli’s Balboa Show Time.
