KERRY BLUE JUDGE SOUTH WALES 24

My thanks to SWKA for my invitation to judge. Big thanks to my stewards who kept me in order. The numbers being shown over the last ten years have declined and should be of concern. To those that entered today, I thank you.

JD (1)

1. Leenderts Joalyn Royale Joey. Good size and balance, bite good, clean head, soft silky coat.Carried the tail well, attentive and easy mover.

LD (2-1)

1. Daly’s Left Back Ar. Young male, up to size. Powerful muzzle and a long head. Good dark mouth pigmentation. Used his ears. Well made body, good rib and good tail carriage. Moved with purpose, just picking at the front a little. Needs colour to break. RCC

OD (3-0)

1. Caltabiano’s Ch/It Ch Balboa Leonida. Good silky coat and colour. Clean planes to the head with good dark gum pigmentation. Keen dark eye. Good spring to the rib, short coupled, balanced with a great straight tail and carriage. Moved well. I would like him a little bigger. DCC and BOB and shortlisted in the Group.

2. McGarry’s Balboa Giramondo. Good coat and colour, head planes ok. Good reach of neck and good spring of rib. Tail set is good, but tail curling a bit too far over for me. Moved ok.

3. Davani & Potts Kebulak King of Swing

VB (1-0)

1. Jones Joalyn Sweet Melody. Good mouth pigmentation. Good silky coat with colour. Feminine head piece. Moved around the ring with enthusiasm.

JB (2-0)

1. McFadden’s Kebulak Velvet Rose at Kefoxini. Attractive, square bitch. Clean head, good keen expression using her ears. Correct proportions of rib and loin.Tail carriage ok, just a bit unsettled on the move.

2. Jones & Bradley Joalyn Parsley Moon. Feminine bitch with silky coat and good colour. A little narrow throughout, needs more substance and needs to settle on the move.

OB (5-0)

A good class, with all decent bitches.

1. Pinfold’s Ch Cyres Nancy Drew. Nothing to dislike about this bitch. Needs her colour to break a bit more and that’s it. Good size, clean head, reach of neck. Good proportions between rib and loin. Good rear angulation. Good set on and tail carriage. Moves with ease. BCC

2. Walker’s Glenachall Nudge the Judge. This bitch reminded me of the breed when I first started out. Long head, back skull a little heavy but with that great ‘Don’t mess with me’ expression! Has a reach of neck but a little upright in shoulder restricting her front reach slightly but otherwise purposeful rear movement. Good rib and level topline with a great set on and carriage giving that neck, straight back, straight tail outline on the move. Silky coat with colour. RCC

3. Clarke-O;Neill’s Ch Showtime Lady at Lemracdream.
