MANCHESTER JUDGE BATH 15

Manchester Terriers

PD (1)

1 BP & PG4, Walshaw’s Talanors Diamonds N’Dreams avec Janmark, a star in the making. Loved him. His head is a joy, super neck & backline, sweeping underline to a slight rise over the loin, already well muscled hams, & firm hocks both in stance & on the move. He just plays up a little in front, really just showing off as puppies often do at this stage. Side on he drives so well & most importantly, keeps his shape. Even at this early stage looks an embryo ch & he was in the last 3 for the CC.

JD (1)

1 Lewis’ Rattustrp Red Admiral, good for size, just about enough reach in neck, level back, well muscled hindquarters but I would like more bend of stifle. His feet are good he has clear thumbprints & he was in beautiful condition coat wise. Disappointed me in side action as he never really showed much rear drive.

PGD (1)

1 Pletz & Kazantzis’ Pauceline Duster, out of a smaller mould than I like for his sex but he is compact & he has a decent spring & depth of rib. While I would like a stronger head for his sex, it is balanced, his eyes are a good shape, size & colour & the ears well carried. Perhaps it was the cool breeze (cold would be a better word!) but he never really settled to stride out as well as I would have hoped.

LD (2,1)

1 RCC, Harrison’s Magpiebank Ash, all male in size, weight of bone, head strength, body development & muscletone. He is a beautiful colour, his head & expression will win many admirers & he is a showman supreme. I loved his reach of neck, layback in shoulders, tight feet & that smooth underline contour which adds to his appeal. He can toe in slightly when fore viewed but overall I felt here was an elegant, sound moving, compact dog who looked all male & would probably work well. Hopefully can go on to his title.

OD (6)

1 CC, Buxton’s Ch Willacome Made In Heaven, I loved his head properties & that look of sheer quality that comes from such good eyes & ears. He is so shapely, well laid shoulders, ribs to the elbow, the smoothest of toplines leading to a good tailset & well developed & angulated hindquarters. His condition in coat & muscle were exemplary, his side action so smooth & even striding & he is so at one with his young handler;

2 Dunford, Akrigg & Walton’s Ch/Dutch Ch Quixol Alexander, another very smart & handsome headed dog which I was not surprised to read is already ennobled. A size taller than the winner scores in coat, colours so rich & deeply hued, muscle development, cleanness in front assembly, & rib depth. He moved around the ring so well but I felt that Heaven just had the better width in thigh & came towards me that fraction steadier;

3 Knight’s Ch Westbank Blue Diamond for Talamors.

PB (2)

1 Maidment’s Egloshayle Daisy May, well coloured & coated youngster. Ears a bit unsettled as yet but the head is so balanced, excellent mouth, eyes almond & dark & she has such good head carriage. Nicely ribbed, she is well muscled already & side on she moves in a balanced way. Just needs to firm up when fore viewed;

2 Sharpe’s Rosettia High Hopes, just 6 months & somewhat overawed by the whole proceedings. She is a lovely size, is undeniably feminine with that head shape, balance & look from such dark eyes. Ears unsettled a bit & she was a bit stealthy on the move but at this tender age she has plenty of time to gain confidence & show herself off to better advantage.

JB (3,1)

1 Saxton, Dale & Emricks’ Rattustrap Imperial Red, what an impressive youngster this is. I loved her on sight. She is the right size, shape, scoring in head quality, eyes, ears & expression & she has head carriage which demands a second look. She is elegant, compact, utterly feminine in outlook & was in pristine condition. Steady on the move she is surely title bound;

2 Palmer’s Egloshayle Queen Of The May, while I could handle this youngster well enough she was not as outgoing as I would expect a Manchester to be. Her head is clean cut, well shaped & coloured eyes, ears could lift a shade more & she could use them more readily. I liked her size, well weighted bone & coat condition. Never really settled to move out with conviction.

NB (2)

1 R Imperial Red;

2 Saville’s Egloshayle Northern Lass to Dobermatian, tall, slightly gangly compared to the winner. I liked her head shape, eyes & ears. Super reach of neck, shade long in loin & not the firmness in elbow when coming towards me of the winner.

PGB (5,1)

1 Wicker’s Mimbre Bombette, tallish, very elegant bitch whose reach of neck, smoothly contoured backline & clean croup all lend to her appeal. Her head is flat in skull, amply narrow & well filled below the eyes. Her coat & colours are so true & her side action was even, smooth & showed reach & drive;

2 Young’s Mimbre Monsoon, so feminine in head, eyes & expression helped by her well set & carried ears. A little lacking in reach of neck which was exaggerated when next to the winner. She is well ribbed, good bone, straight forelimbs & side action is smooth;

3 Sharpe’s Rosettia Ruby Reflection.

LB (7)

1 Peachan’s Felfree A Touch Of Glam for Manrio, I liked this bitch for the quality of her head, excellent eyes & ears & that bright eyes expression. Scores in reach of neck, she is well ribbed, topline perhaps a shade flat over the loin for me but she is well angulated in hindquarters & I felt she had the smoothest & purposeful profile action in this class;

2 Thurlow’s Erkenwyne Lady Guinevere, so very close up as it was a hard decision between these two. On the stack she present such an eyecatching outline with that neck, smooth outline & gently rising loin sweeping to really good hindquarters which are well let down & her hocks are firm. I felt that her ears could be been that little fraction higher carried & on the go around I felt that Glam just had the trifle better rear extension;

3 Cawley’s Marlablue In A Twirl.

OB (6,1)

1 CC & BOB, Saxton & Dale’s Fin/Est Ch Rattustrap Top Totty Hew, a class item. Pretty headed, bags of size & substance throughout yet undeniably female, elegant in outline, all curves in the right places, excellent shoulder & hind angulation, rich colours, immaculate in coat & she shows non stop. A delight to watch her circle the ring with such energy & gracefulness. More than happy to send her through to the group. I believe winning her 4th CC;

2 RCC, Duford & Akrigg’s Ch Paucelin Armana by Quixol, another of lovely size & sheer breed type as I see it. She is such a good size, has a graceful neck, clean cut backline & loin, well muscled hams, beautifully coated & coloured & she stands so true in front. At this level it is nit picking to split quality stock but I just gave Totty the edge in foreface finish. However, a very worthy champion & a pleasure to judge her;

3 Leigh & Morris’ Am/Can Ch Jetcity Cat Woman Sings The Blues to Mansiy.
